The ability of sight has been given to you by your Lord. Benefit is upon those who see the Truth and loss is upon those who are blind to it (the Truth). I am not responsible for what you are doing.
Tafsir
(You have been given clairvoyance by your Lord.) The meaning of clairvoyance here is the eyes, ears and senses that Allah (swt) has given to people. He has given people eyes to see. He has also endowed people with ears, and in addition to that, emotions, and equipped them with the truth. Every human being has the ability to distinguish between good and evil through his intellect and to make decisions by living in his own being.
Allah (swt), who has given these qualities to human beings, by introducing His Essence to human beings and by making a covenant with human beings, by deciding in the realm of property with their limited will, by believing in the Prophets sent by Allah (swt) with the truth and His Book, the Holy Qur'an, when they hear the truth and see the truth, if they see the truth and obey, the benefit is for themselves. Whoever, in the face of such truths, closes his ears to the truth and does not want to hear, turns his ears deaf to the truth and his eyes away from seeing the truth, and lives blind to the truth and does not want to see the truth, the harm is for himself.
Say: O my Messenger! I am not a watchman over you. The meaning of watchman here is that I am not responsible for what you do, everyone is responsible to Allah (swt) for his own actions. I have only been commanded to entrust you with the truth and to explain it to you.
What is said in the video
Your daughter — our daughter — says so. What does she say? 'Insights have come to you from your Lord.' In the verse.
'So whoever sees the truth, it is for his own good; and whoever is blind, it is to his own harm.' 'I am not a guardian over you,' he says. Who says it? The Prophet (peace be upon him). What are these insights? The insights Allah Almighty has given to man. Eyes. Ears, hearts.
Man sees with these eyes, hears with the ears, and with the hearts affirms out of faith. In this case, those who pay no heed to these insights — if people, amid these insights, turn their backs on the truth, (?) on the earth they fall to the state of roaming four-legged animals. They too have eyes, ears, hearts.
Yes. So Allah Almighty, distinguishing human beings from animals, also gives man reason. Reason. If man cannot use his reason, he falls to that four-legged state.
There are eyes, there are ears, there is a heart. And animals have them too. Animals have them, but animals only have the tasks programmed into them. A few traits, like protecting their lives and reproducing. But man has been given an ability, he has been given partial free will. That ability and affinity, that reason, has made man the noblest of all created beings. So if man uses his reason and sees the truth amid those insights, he attains Allah's mercy. Yes.
So whoever sees the truth, it is for his own good. Of course. Why did Allah Almighty create human beings? He created them so that His Being would be known. Now, so many creatures He created. Did He not intend His Being to be known through them? He did not. He did not. Why? Well, let's give an example now. You are a scientist. You built a robot. A robot. You programmed that robot. You make the robot do whatever you want. Would you become known through it?
Say there is a robot, and there is you. Look, these worlds have not been created. There is a robot, and there is you. Would you become known through it? Because you programmed it. But you built a robot and left it free in its own will; you wanted to be known through its own will. That is man. And He also gives man a part of His spirit. A part from Him. Man, that is, is created. In this case, of course, if man, with open eyes, sees the truth — that is, with this reason of his, with what he hears with his ears, sees with his eyes, affirms with his heart, with these insights — if he sees his Lord who created him, if he knows this to be the truth, if he grasps that these worlds were not created in vain, then that is for his own good, He says. Because it matched My purpose in creating, He says.
But what does He say? Whoever is blind, it is to his own harm. That is, although I gave so many insights, although I laid so many events openly and plainly before your eyes, although I told you everything — so many prophets and the past, like history — although so many proofs of past events have appeared before your eyes, you do not see them. 'Like what past event has come before our eyes, Hodja?' Today, isn't Pharaoh's corpse, his lifeless corpse, before your eyes in England? 'Today I will save your lifeless body as a lesson for the worlds,' He says; there, it was saved. Then: the sweet and the salty are side by side, He says, there is a barrier between them, they do not mix, He says.
Isn't this miracle before your eyes with today's science? The people of the Sabbath — Doctor Darwin, that deviant, found them and said man comes from the ape — their skeleton, when Allah Almighty says, 'We turned their form into apes' — with so many insights, so many (?) events, so many past events laid before your eyes, Allah Almighty has given every proof, the proof of His Being; and though He has given you so much reason, eyes, ears, heart, if you turn your back on Allah with these (?), blind your eyes and plug your ears, and have your heart sealed, of course the harm is yours, it is to yourself.
You can harm no one else.
Yes.
Then after that He says, 'I am not a guardian over you.' I am not a guardian over you. Of course. I am not a guardian over them. Everyone's deeds belong to themselves. But the Prophet (peace be upon him) is a bringer of good tidings of Paradise, a warner of Hell, a prophet who came as a mercy to the worlds. He changes no one's character, nor anyone's destiny. Because Allah Almighty (?) a word from us. Paradise and Hell, He says. So since people's destinies will not change again, the Prophet too says, 'I am not a guardian over you.' 'I am telling you Allah's duty, His command, to you,' he says.
To you insights have come from your Lord. The meaning of 'insights' here is the eyes, ears and feelings Allah Almighty gave to people. He gave eyes so that people could see. Again, granting people ears and besides that feelings, that is hearts, He equipped him with the truth. Every person, with his reason (?), distinguishing good from bad, living upon his own existence, has the ability to make decisions. That is what we call partial free will: everyone, with their own will, through the decisions they make, proving what kind of person they are. Allah Almighty, who gave man these qualities, making His Being known to people — and people, according to the covenant they gave, deciding with their partial will in the visible world, believing in the prophets Allah Almighty sent with the truth and in His book, the Holy Quran — if he sees the truth when he hears it and obeys, the benefit is his own.
And whoever, in the face of so many truths, stops his ears to the truth, does not want to hear, makes his ears deaf to the truth, and his eyes turns away without seeing the truth and does not want to see it, and lives blind — the harm is his own. Allah Almighty proves all events to people through His existence. No person, to Allah Almighty, 'Had You done it like this, I would have understood You better' — will be able to say. We said Allah has the attribute of Godhood. No one will be able to question Him, because all questions to be asked will have been (?), and man will be left without questions.
Yes.
Then He says, 'O My Beloved, I am not a guardian over you.' The meaning of 'guardian' here: I am not responsible for what you do. Yes. Everyone is responsible to Allah Almighty for the deeds they have done. I have only been commanded to convey and explain the truth to you. That is, as a bringer of good tidings of Paradise and a warner of Hell to you, I have been commanded to explain the truth. From then on, from then on, everyone's deeds are their own.
No one is asked about the sins anyone else has committed. In this case, according to the verse 'fe men ya'mel miskâle zerretin hayran yerah' — the good of an atom's weight I will record, He says — and its evil too I will record, He says — according to these verses, it shows that here everyone, by the deeds they have done, will be called to account, and that no one will bear anyone else's sin. Doesn't He say so? 'O Allah,' they say, 'O Allah, these were our leaders.' 'They said they were calling us to the truth.' 'They called us to the Fire.' 'Give them double the punishment,' they say. Give them double. Now in the verse Allah Almighty supposedly says this: The verse is right; it's those who rendered its translation.
'Everyone already has double punishment,' it says. Look how they blame Allah Almighty. Supposedly everyone already has double punishment. If everyone has double punishment — when everyone, by what they did, (?), so that no injustice at all is done to them, everyone sees the recompense of what they did, though Allah Almighty judges with justice — if He gives them double the punishment for what they did, would that fit Allah's justice? That's how they write it. I'm not the one saying it, brother. Open the Quran and look. Whereas the meaning of that verse is this: The sins everyone committed, the sins, they will be added up layer upon layer, added up; sins will be added up. And these people count those layers as twice as much for everyone — that's how they reckon it. That is, say the sins were added up — (?), Allah forbid, he has 10 kilos of sin; it became 20 kilos.
This man committed 10 kilos of sin. Of course, when sins are added up layer upon layer — 2 kilos, 1 kilo, half a kilo, 50 grams, 500 grams, whatever — did it make 10 kilos like this? Those are his layered sins. When it says everyone already has layers upon layers of sins, those sins are added up and punished in Hell to the measure of that same sin. Since everyone will be called to account for their own deeds, people, our people, toward Allah Almighty, in the face of so many feelings, so many insights — if people become blind, the duty falling to the Prophet is to convey the truth to them and to give them good tidings of Paradise and warn them of Hell.
'I am not a guardian over you,' he says. That is, I have no power to bring you to what is right no matter what, to turn you to the truth, he says. Because everyone's destiny is their own. No one changes the destiny that anyone had written at Kalu Bela; and, He says, if there is a single power that can change it, it is Allah, He says. And from Allah a word has come to pass, He says. What is it? Paradise and Hell. So according to the verse 'Unless We will, you cannot will', since this willing belongs to Allah alone, and since Allah Almighty will not will it — by His attribute of justice (?). I mean, can those who know and those who don't ever be equal?
One who lives as a servant of Allah and those, sir, who rebel against Allah — can they be equal, He says. In Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 165 I think, look what it says now. Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 165. Yes. Allah Almighty is so merciful that if those people's characters had changed — their characters — Allah Almighty would have abolished Hell too. Their characters do not even change. Look what it says now in the verse. Some people take, besides Allah, gods as equals to Allah, it says. They take equal gods. They love them as they love Allah, it says. They love them as they love Allah. But the believers' love for Allah is far greater than theirs.
In fact it is different. It is different. Their love, sir, though it is for servants Allah created, though they associate partners with Allah — you cannot speak of that love as 'greater'. It is rather different. What does it say now? 'If only,' it says, look, 'if only.' If only the wrongdoers, when they see the punishment, could understand that all power belongs to Allah and that Allah's punishment is very severe, it says.
When they see the punishment. Now here he has done something by his own reasoning, too. 'If only they could have understood beforehand.' Now the verse turns completely upside down. Look. How it turns upside down.
Let's open that too. (?)
'That all power belongs to Allah and that Allah's punishment is very severe — if only they could have understood beforehand.' Beforehand. While in the life of this world. But it says 'when they see the punishment' — where will they see the punishment? They will see the punishment in the Hereafter. So when he says 'if only they could have understood beforehand' — you say 'when they see the punishment', for one thing: if only, when they see the punishment, they knew that all power belongs to Allah and surrendered to Allah who created them, it says. That is the meaning in this verse. But since those characters will never change again, the Lord in their imagination they are waiting for; that imagined Lord will come, and they will take revenge on Allah. And as they see the punishment, their hatred toward Allah Almighty grows there. As that hatred grows, they remain there forever.
That is Paradise and Hell. In Paradise, those who obeyed Allah — their submission to Allah Almighty and their (?) toward Allah increase. In Hell, the hatred toward Allah Almighty of those (?) forever grows, and as their hatred grows, they remain there forever. That is Paradise and Hell. That is how (?). If only, it says, when they see the punishment, they knew that all strength, power and might are in Allah's hand, it says. Oh, it shows how merciful He is. But those disbelievers, unbelievers born of unbelievers, still, with feelings of taking revenge on the One who created them, spew hatred against Allah Almighty.
Though they consent to the burning punishment there, they still cannot turn back. Those are the characters. I mean, if you don't graft a lemon tree, can you change its characteristics? Pear, apple, other fruits — whatever their seeds are, that is what they will yield. It will take after its kind. And if there is a power that can change that, He says, that can change those seeds, it is Allah, He says. And if they do not will it, if they do not will it — that is, if only, when they see the punishment, they knew that all power and might are in Allah's hand, it says, and they repented — and He knows what is in their hearts — then Hell too would be abolished.
How full of mercy Allah Almighty is, and how justly He judges — that those who know and those who don't are not equal, that those who strive and those who don't are not equal, that those who know Allah's Being and those who deny Allah, who are ungrateful to Him, are not equal — how beautifully, with His justice, as 'Eleyse'llahu bi-ahkemi'l- hâkimîn', He makes it known to us. Yes.
