Do not revile the ones who worship anything other than Allah. Otherwise, they will revile Allah unknowingly. Thus, the actions of every nation appear attractive to them. At the end, their return will be to their Lord. And then, Allah will tell them about their actions.
Tafsir
(Do not curse others besides Allah, lest they also curse Allah unknowingly.) O you who believe! Do not curse Allah's creatures, which the polytheists worship besides Allah. Do not insult the polytheists because of your faith, and do not blaspheme what they worship in their ignorance. Because they are in the darkness of ignorance, they too unknowingly curse Allah who created them. In this regard, do not cause this.
(So that every nation will be tempted by its deeds.) This Verse (Kalu Bela) is based on (Elestu bi Rabbikum). Allah (swt) has made a covenant with each human being individually, showing them the times of the world and binding them to their own will as to when they will go to the world.
The fact that each soul chooses the time that suits its desires and wishes, and that Allah (swt) has written the desires and wishes of those people as fate, makes the deeds they do seem attractive to them. If these people had been forced to do things against their will, they would not have been sinned against for their evil deeds and their lives would have been unbearable. But if we pay attention to human beings, every human being enjoys the things he does by doing them with his own desire and will.
Imagine a person! A person who is devoted to Allah, who is devoted to worship, who fears Allah, who is very careful about halal and haram, who is compassionate and soft-hearted. If you force this person to kill, if you force this person to extort people's property, or if you force this person to drink, gamble or commit adultery, this person's life will be unbearable according to his nature.
Accept a person who is the opposite of this. A person who takes pleasure in evil, gets depressed when Allah is mentioned, is worldly, proud and arrogant, and does not want to believe in Allah and the Books. If you try to force this person to worship, if you do something to break his pride and arrogance, if you prevent him from doing the bad things he desires, this person's life will become a dungeon for him because he cannot live his life according to his own nature, desire and will.
It is Allah, that Allah, who leaves the people He has created to their own desires and wishes, making a covenant with them in this way, leaving them free to do whatever they will do, and letting them live their lives in a way that is attractive to them, both in terms of enjoying the world and in terms of the covenant He has made with them, by making them witness themselves to Allah and revealing what kind of a person they are.
In the end every soul will taste death, and the return will be only to Allah, the Almighty. Allah (swt) will inform them of their deeds in this world.
What is said in the video
From Surah Al-An'am, verse 108, we continue. 'Those who worship other than Allah — do not revile them.' That is,
in fact the verse has been corrected; when it says 'do not revile those who worship other than Allah', it would mean something like 'do not revile idol-worshippers'. Here: 'Those who worship other than Allah — do not revile what they worship. Then they too will revile Allah unknowingly,' it says. Yes.
So Allah Almighty, in the verse — those idolaters, polytheists, He says, associate partners with Allah; they love their partners with a love greater than for Allah, He says.
So, in support of this verse, you too, do not revile what those who worship other than Allah worship. They too, it says, unknowingly, unknowingly. Sir, that isn't 'unknowingly' either; if it were unknowingly, it would come under pardon. (?) Deliberately they revile Allah, it says; yes, not unknowingly at all. 'Thus, to every nation, their own deeds We have shown as (?),' it says. No. This ascribes attributes to Allah. If to every nation their own deeds He has made attractive — well, You made unbelief attractive to me, what am I to do? You are the Creator. If You worked this into me, it is impossible to change it.
So to every nation their own deeds seemed attractive. Their own deeds, the deeds they did, seemed attractive. In the end their return is to their Lord. Then He will inform them of what they did, it says. So man, people... We will explain it again; God willing, we can explain it again. It comes either from below or from above. However it comes, we will explain it that way. Either it says, 'Do not revile those who worship other than Allah.' No — 'What is other than Allah, the idols, the idols of the worshippers — do not revile them.' To that it says 'unknowingly'. Whereas it is not unknowingly. Out of their hatred of Allah, they too will revile your Lord, it says.
Out of their hatred of Allah. Why out of hatred of Allah? Because at the covenant of 'elestü bi-Rabbiküm', while making the covenant with Allah Almighty, out of their own pride and arrogance — since Allah Almighty created the humans He created close to His Being as a part of His Being — they could not know the Lord who created them as Lord. They waited for the Lord of their imagination. In this case, out of pride and arrogance, they rebelled against Allah. Yes. So, lest, it says, they too out of their hatred revile your Lord, it says. 'Thus We have made every nation attractive to themselves,' it says.
We have made their own deeds attractive.
In any case, to everyone, it says, We have made attractive their own deeds that they do. This too is a wrongly rendered verse. We said: a non-Muslim drinks alcohol, gambles, commits adultery, takes interest, sir, let me say, associates partners with Allah, lives as his nafs wishes — He made that attractive to him, yet restricted it for me? Does this fit Allah's justice? So Allah Almighty found what they do abhorrent. That is, He found it ugly. O person of faith, never do what he does; if you do what they do, if you take on the ways of the people who go against My command, I will send you too where they go, He says.
So those who live as non-Muslims and the person who lives as a Muslim have duties toward Allah Almighty — they have. The non-Muslim lives irresponsibly within his own responsibility. He lives irresponsibly within his own wishes and desires. The Muslim, however much he lives within his wishes and desires, out of his faith fears Allah and carries out what Allah says. Yes. In this case, the non-Muslim and the Muslim differ in terms of faith. What is faith? Faith as I know it, faith: it means believing in what truly exists.
This is my table. I see it. I have faith in it. It exists. That is, you say 'I believed'. It exists, it truly exists. Don't you believe in it? To believe is faith.
So if a single God created these worlds, if there is no god other than Him, you became Muslim with the word of testimony; you are a person of faith. You have faith. Whether you do what your Lord says or not. If you pass on to the Hereafter with faith in those states of not doing, in Hell Allah Almighty (?) you as much as the punishment, and you get out again. Because you have faith. Faith will reach perfection in Hell.
The others, the others — apart from the non-Muslim, all are without faith.
All of them are without faith. I say it again: they have no faith, they are without faith. Because they associate partners with Allah. People who associate partners with Allah are people outside the non-Muslim — I mean, outside the Muslim: the non-Muslims. Whatever their ideology, all people outside Islam are without faith. Yes, as long as they do not enter Islam, as long as they do not repent, they are people of Hell forever.
Our Lord decrees it so.
And we say openly what our Lord says. Openly. Yes.
Then the return of what we did in the world is to Allah Almighty. Saying what? 'All your returns — your return is to Me,' He says. Every soul will taste death. 'And finally your return is to Me,' He says. How do we know our return is to Him? No living thing has remained in the world to be everlasting. Up to now. None. And there won't be from now on either. If Allah is the Owner of this universe and His word is true, and up to now not a single living being's life has lasted to this day, we believe that every soul will taste death. Then, just as we believe this, we believe in the Hereafter. Because we did not come about out of nothing.
We were created by a Lord. That Lord of ours constantly calls to us, and prophets (?) and books before us He sends. Accordingly, we will be raised in the Hereafter. And by many verses, the Last Hour will come, and finally that second trumpet — when Israfil's trumpet is blown, no one can dodge it. All will find themselves at the gathering. At that Supreme Court, Eleyse'llahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, before the Judge of judges, they will give account. In this case, the verses all support one another. Since He says every soul will taste death and finally your return is to Me, Allah Almighty says here, We will inform them of what they did.
Of what they did. How will He inform them? If at some entertainment, on some video, your life were captured on video, then wherever you wanted, when that video is played, they would say, 'Look, you did this and this.' If the rays reflected by these forms of ours are reflected onto paper as a photograph, or onto a card as video, is Allah Almighty not able to freeze our forms and show them to us? By His knowledge. And those He calls kiramen katibin, on our right and left shoulders, those noble angels — don't they write everything that comes out of your mouths? 'Woe! How much,' they say, 'whatever deeds we did, small and large, are all written here' — don't they say that?
Moreover, moreover — the earth, it says, made flat, when the heavens become another heaven and the earths another earth, when the world is made flat, that power whose might is beyond reach, it says, when He brings you out of the earth. Yes. And your bodies, to you — I will make them testify to your soul, He says. I will make them bear witness, He says. Yes. Bodies are entrusted to us.
So our return is to Him. There is no escape. No escape at all.
Do not revile other than Allah. Then they too will revile Allah unknowingly. O you who believe! Those the polytheists worship besides Allah, Allah's creations — do not revile them. We wrote the meanings fully. The meanings are complete. But because we will change the verses later, we brought this out for you in haste. Because we brought it out in haste, we wrote its meanings fully. Changing the verses is easy. Those, sir — there are 400 verses. About 500. Those get changed, but the meanings are complete. What are we saying? Do not revile other than Allah. Then they too will revile Allah unknowingly.
O you who believe! Those the polytheists worship besides Allah, Allah's creations — do not revile them. Because of your faith, do not insult the polytheists and curse what they basely worship. Because, since they are in the darkness of ignorance, they too unknowingly revile Allah who created them. So do not give cause for this. Yes.
'We have made every nation's own deeds attractive to them,' it says. This verse rests on this: Allah Almighty, who made a covenant with each person separately, showing them the times of the world, left it to their own wishes in which time they would go to the world. Each soul choosing the time that fits its own wishes and desires, and Allah Almighty writing that person's wishes and desires as destiny — that is His making the deeds they will do attractive to them. We wrote that here. Actually, it is that they seem attractive to them. If these people had been forced into deeds outside their own wishes and desires, they would not have incurred sin for the evils they did.
And his life would also become unbearable. Because he will commit that evil, for he takes pleasure in it. If you turn him, sir, to the truth so that he won't commit that evil, this will be very hard for them. Because he will be earning reward. In this case his life becomes unbearable. Because it would be a life (?). But if we pay attention to people, each person does his own deeds by his own wishes and desires, and it comes down to taking pleasure in them, it says. Yes.
Picture a person devoted to Allah, devoted to worship, who fears Allah, very careful about halal and haram. A merciful, soft-hearted person. If you force this person to kill, force him to seize people's property, or to drink, gamble, commit adultery, this person's life, by his own nature, becomes an unbearable life (?). Yes. Consider a person who is the opposite of this. One who takes pleasure in evil, who suffers depression (?), devoted to the world, proud and arrogant, who does not want to believe in Allah and the books. If you set out to make this person worship by force, behave in ways that break the arrogance of his pride, it says, if you prevent the evils he desires, this person too cannot live his life according to his own nature, his wishes and doings, so his life becomes a dungeon to him.
Yes. Now, accordingly, I have an experience. I lived it. I went on Hajj, it was 1978, and because of a traffic accident I went to prison, to prison. Now, they put thieves in prison too. Of course the first time he steals they don't cut his hand, the second time they don't cut it either. But if he's made a habit of it, the third time they cut his hand. That's the law, the Sharia law. The man (?), 'I,' he says, 'kebş harami,' he says, that is, 'I'm a sheep thief.' (?) he says it. We pray — when the call to prayer is given, we pray in the prison. We line up, of course, our congregation, it's Hajj season anyway.
For those not praying, the guard comes in with the (?) in his hand and makes them (?) stand for prayer. Now, when they see this, the moment the guard comes in, these (?) for prayer without ablution, and once they stand for prayer, the guard can't do anything to them; they don't stand willingly, they stand out of fear of a beating; the guard has gone — may Allah teach you a lesson — they just walk off. These are things that really happened.
That is Allah — Allah who leaves the people He created to their own wishes and desires, making a covenant with them on this side, leaving every person free in the deeds he will do, and as people complete their lifetimes, both enjoying the world and having themselves made witnesses to Allah Almighty according to the covenant they gave, He lets them live their own lives as attractive to themselves. Yes.
In the end every soul will taste death, and its return to Allah, the absolute power, will be. The deeds they committed in the world, Allah Almighty will make known to them. Yes.
