They have taken a strong oath that when a miracle comes to them, they will surely believe it. Say; “Miracles are only from Allah. But are you aware that they will not believe when a miracle comes?”
Tafsir
People have failed to realize that each and every one of these Verses of Allah (swt) is a miracle. They wanted to see a miracle from the Holy Prophet. However, even though the Holy Prophet showed them many miracles that they could see on the surface, they still did not believe. Knowing that the disbelievers will pretend to believe and take advantage of the miracles that are to their advantage, and then deny the miracles shown to them, Allah says, "Say: 'The only miracles are with Allah. Do you realize that even when the miracles come, you will not believe?" With this verse, Allah is exposing the disbelief of the people of disbelief, which they hide in their hearts, to the faces of the polytheists. There is also mercy for mankind in this verse. As an infallible law of Allah, Allah made His miracle appear to those who asked Him for a miracle, and He destroyed those people because of their disbelief. It is out of Allah's mercy that he did not show a clear miracle here.
It was for the sake of the living among them that Allah, Who will never again destroy mankind, abolished miracles. Allah (swt) knew that this people would not believe even if He showed them a miracle, so He did not make it appear. He did not show them the miracles they asked for, because the people among them were those who would later accept Islam themselves and their descendants.
It is narrated that the polytheists of Mecca came to the Prophet (PBUH) and said, "O Muhammad! You claim to be a Prophet, his people asked Moses for water. He struck the stones with his staff and water came out. If you make the hill of Safa golden, we will believe in your Prophethood. When the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was going to pray, Allah said to his heart, "Habibim, do not pray to these people, because there are people among them who will not believe. It is necessary that they do not perish when they do not believe. Then Allah, who revealed the unseen to the Prophet (pbuh), prevented the Prophet from praying, saying, "There are those among them and their descendants who will become Muslims. The Prophet (PBUH), out of compassion for them, prevented their destruction by not praying.
What is said in the video
The one hundred and ninth verse. Those who swore by Allah with strong oaths that if a miracle came to them they would surely believe in it. Say: miracles are only with Allah; but do you realize that when a miracle comes they will still not believe? The miracle is from Allah. But do you realize that, if it does not come, they will not believe?
If Allah Almighty shows a miracle of His own accord, people are not held responsible.
But if people ask for it and Allah Almighty shows that miracle, then, since the people will not believe, He destroys them. Now the Quraysh are asking the Prophet for a miracle. A miracle. Thereupon, knowing that they would not believe, Allah Almighty says in the verse: if, He says, We send the miracle and they, He says, do not believe, then in the end, He says, do they realize what will befall them, He says. Because there is no change in Allah's way. There is no change in Allah's custom. Since what befell other peoples would befall them too, the miracles they kept demanding of Allah Almighty without knowing, Allah Almighty, as a mercy to them, those miracles He did not show.
Yes. But did the Prophet (peace be upon him) not show miracles? He did.
Trees speaking, animals speaking. Sir, splitting the moon in two. Well, the moon — but didn't someone ask for it there? He asked, but he became a Muslim. The one who asked became a Muslim. Who asked? A commander called Habibi. He became a Muslim together with his army. Yes.
That is why in the custom of Allah Almighty there is no change.
The people of the prophet Salih asked for a camel; a camel came out of the rock, they cut its legs, killed it, and He destroyed them.
Many people too, (?), although Allah Almighty, through His prophets, showed them miracles, or although He invited them to the truth, because they transgressed Allah's laws, His limits, He destroyed them. In the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), were there none who transgressed the limits? There were. So why no destruction? Because the mercy to the worlds had come, there is no destruction, because of that mercy. So what is there? Instead there are calamities. Yes. And what does Allah Almighty say in His verse? We give them two or three calamities a year, He says. Well, today we see it too.
All over the world storms, gales, tsunamis, volcanoes, earthquakes, every kind of disaster is appearing.
At the same time, the beginnings of the signs of the Last Day. These are.
Earthquakes happen, but once in 10 years, 15 years, 20 years, 30 years.
Volcanoes, until this time, there were none. They have started again. Indeed, among the signs of the Last Day there will be earthquakes, it says; volcanoes will start, it says; there will be floods and disasters, it says. They are happening; we are seeing them. But these are the beginning. Because the world has a little more life left, slowly we are heading in that direction.
People have not grasped that each one of Allah Almighty's many verses is in the state of a miracle. They keep asking for a miracle, a miracle.
Each verse is a miracle.
People are unaware of the verses, and unaware of those miracles too. They insisted on seeing a miracle from the Prophet. Yet although the Prophet showed them many miracles they could see outwardly, they still did not believe.
Even if miracles in their own interest came, those who deny would seem to believe and profit from it. Then Allah Almighty, who knows that after these miracles shown they would turn to denial: Say, miracles are only with Allah. Do you realize that when the miracles come they will not believe?
They will not believe. In that case Allah Almighty will destroy them. And this time, when He destroys them, it will contradict "Ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn". Then, if this were a fabricated Quran, many words contradicting each other would arise, and in that case deficient attributes would be ascribed to Allah Almighty. So our Lord both protects them, and in it no verse whose words contradict each other arises. Yes.
With the verse, the denial that the people of kufr hid in their hearts is thrown in the idolaters' faces. Moreover, in this verse there is mercy for people. As an unfailing law of Allah, Allah, who made the miracle appear to those who asked Him for a miracle, destroyed those peoples because the people did not believe. His not showing an open miracle here comes from Allah's mercy. An open miracle was shown, in our Lord's mercy. So, for the sake of the Beloved of the Almighty alive among them, Allah, who will not again bring destruction upon people, did not show this people a miracle.
That is, as with the people of Salih, by Himself; as with the miracles shown to other people, as with the miracles shown to Pharaoh, for instance, nine miracles: blood, locusts, drought, the whiteness of his hand, the staff turning into a dragon; many miracles, although He showed them, in the end destruction upon them (?). With Allah Almighty, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), miracles are still seen, for instance a tree speaking, a dry (?) date palm turning green, a stump speaking, moaning, sir, and the like — all not at the request of the Prophet (peace be upon him), but these states appearing of their own accord, that is, by Allah's will.
If that people had asked for these and then not believed, they would have been destroyed. So there is a difference here.
According to a report, the Meccan idolaters came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said: O Muhammad, you claim to be a prophet. Moses' people asked him for water. He struck the stones with his staff. He brought out water. If you too turn this hill of Safa into gold, we will believe in your prophethood, they said.
They want the hill of Safa to become gold.
When the Messenger of the Almighty, Muhammad (peace be upon him), was about to pray, Allah to his heart: My Beloved. Do not pray for them. Yes.
What does He say? Do not pray for them. Because among them there are people who will not believe. Who will not believe. So that they are not destroyed when they do not believe. Then, among them and among their descendants there are those who will become Muslims — saying this, Allah, who informed the Prophet (peace be upon him) of the unseen, prevented the Prophet from praying. The Prophet (peace be upon him) this, and he (peace be upon him), by not praying, out of compassion for them, prevented their destruction.
Because there were those among them who would not believe. There are still idol worshippers in Mecca. There are those who do not believe in Allah. There are those who do not believe in Allah. You who go on hajj, always being taken up with their hajj, they do not know.
I said, I said — when I went to prison after that traffic accident, there in prison there are some people on duty, (?). What Allah? he says. There is no Allah, he says. There is no Allah. I witnessed this there. I have seen many things. My Lord made me live through them. Yes. Hodja, on the way from Medina to Mecca, the driver, the taxi driver, when entering Mecca in Ramadan, he too was irreligious. Yes.
What does he want to say? We are going from Medina to Mecca. Our children put on a hymn on the radio of the driver taking us, about the Prophet: Ya Muhammad, Ya Muhammad, sir, and the driver now says: Mehmet, Mehmet, Mehmet, Mehmet.
Take this off, take it off.
Yes, irreligious people.
There are all kinds of people.
Just because that place is Mecca,
that there everyone is a Muslim — don't let such a thing cross your mind.
