Al-An'am 111: If We had sent down angels to them and if the dead had spoken to them and if We have had gathered and summoned everything in front of them, they still would not believe in Allah if they had not desired (to believe). But many do not know this.

Translation

If We had sent down angels to them and if the dead had spoken to them and if We have had gathered and summoned everything in front of them, they still would not believe in Allah if they had not desired (to believe). But many do not know this.

Tafsir

With this verse, Allah (swt) is trying to emphasize this point in particular. Allah, who has given the covenants that people have made to them as their destiny, says that unless these people change their destiny, it is not possible for them to change their destiny, and that only Allah can change their destiny, but Allah, who leaves every human being free in his own will, Since Allah, Who wills that our Lord should be known through the desires and wishes of men, is not the changer of these destinies, even if you send down angels to these people, even if you raise all the dead, even if you show them the miracles of the universe, they will not believe in these miracles, and they will not stop disbelieving in Allah.

Imagine a computer, install a program on this computer. It is not possible for this computer to perform the operations of any other program other than this program. Since it does not recognize any program other than its own program, it is not possible to make it do what is required of it. However, if you load the program of the desired operation into this computer, then you can make this computer perform the desired operation. Since Allah (swt) does not change the destiny of people, even if you show the disbelievers miracles, they will not accept the existence of Allah.

People's destinies are like this. Whatever a person wants to do and desire, these programs have been imposed on him. As we have explained in the previous verse, according to the verse, "Thus to every nation their deeds seem attractive." Since they are programmed only with their own desires and wishes, they enjoy what they do in good or bad ways while living their destiny, and that life seems attractive to them.

This is why Allah sent people to the realm of the unseen, asking them to serve Allah in a realm where His Essence is invisible, and why those who saw Allah (in Kalu Bela) were sent to the realm of the realm of property to believe in the unseen because they did not want to believe that Allah is Allah. However, it states that in the worldly realm, they will live their covenant there and will not believe in Allah. This is because Allah (swt) is trying to explain to them that their desires and wishes are destined for them.

The verse goes on to say, (but most of them do not know this) What people do not know is that they are unaware of their covenant in the Hereafter, and that most people do not know what a covenant with Allah is.

What is said in the video

So: if We had sent down angels to them — verse 111 — their return is to Us, He says, you know; this return we (?) here; we come to the 111th verse. If We had sent down angels to them, angels, and the dead had spoken to them, and if We had gathered every- thing and brought it before them, unless Allah willed, they still would not believe; but most of them do not know this. How beautifully He says it now. Most of them do not know this. Most of them. Even if Muslim, they do not know this. Hodja, did you make the Muslim an unbeliever? Bravo. A Muslim does not know the subtlety of this verse. A Muslim has said the shahada; faith, done.

He believes. He gets off the hook. A Muslim gets off the hook by saying the shahada. Whether he knows it or not.

Like what? They give you a pickaxe: dig here. Dig.

You obey the order. You swing the pickaxe and dig into the earth. Beneath it is your treasure. You don't know it is there. You don't know it is a treasure. The shahada is just like this. You said the shahada, you have come to own this treasure. But whether you know it or not, the worth of life. Well, do you know it, Hodja? Well, I'm going to live it now anyway. Of course we know. I keep telling you these things all the time.

It won't seem foreign to you. We tell it. What is it? This in itself symbolizes. This verse symbolizes. Which verse, that is? It symbolizes verse 172 of Surah Al-A'raf. What does it say? If We had sent down angels to them — He did send them down — and if the dead had spoken to them — He made them speak too — and if We had gathered everything and brought it before them — He would bring it — Allah did not will it, so they still would not believe. But most of them do not know these things. Because: We made a covenant with those who would emerge from the offspring of the sons of Adam, He says. We gave them their intents as their destiny.

We also placed these characters in them. In that case, let Him bring them angels too. Those who deny. Even if you raised the dead.

Let Him gather everything and bring it before them. Still, unless Allah wills, they will not believe. Why unless Allah wills — weren't they free in their own will? They had themselves programmed according to their own wishes and desires, didn't they. Only if they give up these characters and say: yes, my true Master is Allah, and believe in Him — then the one power that can change this, He says, is Me. That is, unless We will, you cannot will. Therefore there is nothing of theirs to change these destinies, He says. People cannot even change their own characters. That is, they cannot change their destinies.

Acquired characters change, but their own essential, implanted characters, which had themselves written as a script and which will prove in this realm what kind of person they are — those characters do not change. These are (?) characters. In that case, if there is a being who can change this, He says, it is Me. But We have also left people's will free. A word has gone forth from Us. Paradise and Hell. In that case We will not change it either, He says. But most people do not know this, He says. Yes. It's understood, isn't it? No. Yes.

So we come to the verse. If We, He says, were to send down angels to them, and the dead had spoken to them, and every- thing We were to gather and bring before them, unless Allah willed, they still would not believe. But most of them do not know this, He says. As I just explained, this verse is the direct proof of Surah Al-A'raf's verse 172.

When Allah Almighty made the covenant with people, their wishes, desires and intents He gave them as their destiny. Now there is no being, no being at all, other than Allah to change these destinies. And since Allah Almighty is just, since He left people free in their own will, and so that they prove to themselves what kind of people they are, to this realm He sent them; since a word went forth from Him, the word of Paradise and Hell went forth, Allah Almighty says: We too will not change it again. Yes, Allah.

With this verse Allah Almighty is trying to emphasize especially this point: Allah, who gave people the covenants they gave as their destiny — that these people cannot change unless these destinies change, that only Allah can change these destinies of theirs; but Allah, who leaves every person free in his own will, Allah, who wills that by people's own wishes and desires our Lord be known, since He does not change these destinies — even if you sent angels down to these people, even if you raised all the dead, even if unheard-of miracles in the universe you showed them, they would neither believe in these miracles nor would they give up denying Allah.

Yes. Because the characters are like that.

There you have it. Whatever happens, in that address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm every- thing was settled. The whole root is there.

Yes.

In a hadith it says Allah, in the twilight, created the spirits. He scattered something of His light on them. Whoever received from that light found his way. Whoever did not receive from that light lost his way, went astray. Do you know how these poor people explain this hadith? Allah threw a ball, they say. He hurled a cannonball, they say. That cannonball — whomever the cannonball hit became a Muslim. He received from that light. I mean, Allah protect us. Look at these superstitions.

What's he to do, man? The man has to say something about this. O blessed one, if speech is silver, it says, silence is gold. How well it puts it. Hodja, in one of our talks you said that to an unbeliever, to the people of kufr — to a person of the people of kufr, if you forced him to live Islam, (?) you could not make him accept. Of course. We deny it — he won't accept it. Because that is his nature. Yes.

If you know, it says, tell it, so people benefit. If you don't know, it says, keep quiet so they take you for a scholar, it says. Yes. At least keep quiet and don't tell. Your (?) with words that slander Allah, your own descendants into torment do not cast.

(?)

(?) a computer. A computer. Load a program onto this computer. It is impossible for this computer, outside its program, to perform another program's operation. It is impossible for it. Isn't that so, programmer, computer person? Yes. Since it knows no program other than its own, making it do what is asked of it is impossible. That is, from that computer, outside that program, if you ask for anything outside that program within the computer's program, it is impossible to make it do that. Because it does not recognize it. Yes.

Since it knows no program other than its own, making it do what is asked of it is impossible. But if you load onto this computer the program for the desired operation, then you can make this computer do the desired operation. Since Allah Almighty will not change people's destinies again either, even if to those who deny you showed unheard-of miracles, they would not accept the existence of Allah. Because believing characters have not been placed in them. That is, bring that person a program outside a computer's program — that person is programmed too, isn't he; what is a program he does not have?

Knowing the existence of Allah. You cannot make him know this. This is impossible. Yes, so even if you raised the dead in front of them, even if you set down every kind of miracle, since he has no program for believing, that is, since he has no program for believing in Allah, you cannot make him believe this.

People's destinies are like this too. Whatever this person wanted to do and desire, these programs were loaded into him. As we explained in the previous verse: to every community We made their own deeds seem attractive. That is, they were seen as attractive. Every deed was seen as attractive by its own community. According to the verse, since these are programmed only with their own wishes and desires, while living their own destinies, from what they do on the good and the bad path they take pleasure, and life has been made attractive to them. That is, life was seen as attractive by him. Yes, so Allah, by sending people to the realm of the unseen, in a realm where His essence is not seen, His wanting servitude to Allah — at Kalu Bela.

Since those who saw Allah Almighty did not want to believe that Allah is Allah, so that they believe in the unseen they were sent to the material realm. There they could not believe in Allah Almighty. Why? Because He gave man a part of His essence, because He created him like His essence. So that you do not say: You were like me, and I was like You, my Allah. Had You sent me to a realm where Your essence is not seen, I would have obeyed You. So, to the unseen realm, that is, to a realm where His essence is not seen. Now some people — of course those not in our lessons — with their small minds: this man ascribes attributes.

Oh, he speaks of Allah as if He were like himself, they say. That's what they say.

Yes.

So Allah Almighty, sending people to the realm of the unseen, in a realm where His essence is not seen, wanting servitude to Allah — at Kalu Bela those who saw Allah Almighty, since they did not want to believe that Allah is Allah, so that they believe in the unseen, to the material realm were sent. But that in the world too they will live their covenant from there, that they will not believe in Allah — what is making this known? Because it is so in their covenants. He informs us of this. Because that their wishes and desires were written for them as destiny, Allah Almighty is trying to explain. Now I remember what I was saying a moment ago.

Let's finish that. Let's finish that sentence. Some people say: look, this man speaks of Allah as if He were like himself, they say. They say. Because he has no knowledge at all about Allah, that's why. Well, do you have it? A little. Its full meaning, impossible. For anyone. Because then one would be equal to Him. What does "Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes" mean? It means He changes form with ease. If He gave man a part from His spirit, people too are equipped with the attributes of the essence, created as a part from their Lord. But they are creatures, created, created in need of Allah, because their mind is restricted.

In this case I now ask those people: is Allah Almighty free from deficient attributes? Yes. Can you ascribe attributes to Him? Well, can't He take your form, my form? What does this mean? He can, if He is free from deficient attributes. Well then, He gave you from His spirit, and as a part from your essence had given you of His attributes, had it been so — does that offend you? Where one should feel honoured. One must feel honoured. You must feel honoured. Because you were created honoured above the worlds. You are human. Your being created honoured above the worlds comes from your being a part of Him.

From His giving you from His spirit. And from His taking you as one addressed by His essence. And from His sending His word, His eternal word, to you, from His speaking with you — are you not honoured?

Yes. Close this here. There is benefit in it being (?) closed. (?) deep now. The rest: as the human mind imagines, it goes on into imaginings. Imaginings lead a person to interpretations, and interpretations to kufr. Yes. There is benefit in closing it, too. Yes. The verse continues in the continuation of the same verse as follows: but most of them do not know this. So the side people do not know: in the realm of the Hereafter, their being unaware of their covenant; (?) here; and what Allah and His verses are, most people do not know.
