Al-An'am 125: The hearts of those who want to follow the right path of Allah open towards Islam. And those who desire to go astray; their hearts tighten as if they are ascending to the sky. As such, those who do not believe in Allah take upon themselves filthiness.

Translation

The hearts of those who want to follow the right path of Allah open towards Islam. And those who desire to go astray; their hearts tighten as if they are ascending to the sky. As such, those who do not believe in Allah take upon themselves filthiness.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) has sent Prophets and Books to introduce His Essence to human beings. In a realm where His Essence is veiled, He has intended that it should be known through human beings by making human beings the interlocutors of His Essence. Allah sent Prophets and Books to human beings. He has also given human beings the blessing of intellect and also clairvoyance as Allah (swt) has stated in the previous verses. With his intellect and these senses, man sees the truth and believes in Allah and the Last Day. If they wish to embrace Islam, Allah opens their hearts to Islam. His feelings and intellect develop, his perception increases, he sees the truth, and when his intellect and feelings show him that he is on the right path, peace begins in him. With this peace, a person's submission and trust in Allah increases. His faith becomes stronger. Such people will be among those who are saved in the sight of Allah. Whoever denies Allah and the Last Day and leads people into depression with his contradictions, when his intellect knows Allah and shows him the right path, and he chooses deviant paths away from Allah, shows that he is not with his intellect but with his nafs. When such people go astray, they become depressed and their hearts become narrowed. The reason for this narrowing is that the intellect shows people the truth. It does not lead to bad paths. The nafs, on the other hand, drags people to their desires and wishes beyond their capacity. If people do not use their intellect and follow their nafs, they fall under burdens they cannot bear. He is pressured by the environment and people. He starts to feel constricted by the evil he has done and the sins he has committed. Allah (swt) gives an example of this narrowing and says: "His heart becomes narrow as if he is ascending to the sky".

Allah (swt) is trying to explain another science to people with this example. When people take off in an airplane, when they ascend to a certain altitude, if the airplane is a normal airplane and not a pressurized cabin, the human heart is compressed and breathing difficulties begin because of the lack of oxygen and the air pressure decreases at high altitudes. Allah, who has a wisdom in every word, is trying to tell us something through His word.

This is how Allah proves His existence to mankind with every Ayat, and if people still leave Allah and turn to error and evil ways, they are taking upon themselves (uncleanness). The meaning of unclean here is filth. It also means the burden of sin. They bear the burden of this uncleanness, that is, the burden of sin.

What is said in the video

I'm starting it. They have explained verse 125 of Surah Al-An'am wrongly.

First let's read the wrong version.

In the light of the verses.

Never call the verses wrong, Allah forbid. The translation, the explanation of the translation is wrong. There is no mistake in Allah's word. Whomever Allah wishes to guide to the right path, He opens his heart to Islam. Just look at that. Whomever Allah wishes to guide to the right path, He opens his heart to Islam. Well, is Allah Almighty the owner of justice? He is. Are all these people He had created His servants? They are His servants. Well, does He say: I make no distinction among My servants (?) He does. Does He say: spread truth and justice on the earth? He does. Well, does Allah Almighty say: We have shared out even the earth equally among you?

He does. How can you ascribe such attributes to a just Allah, that you make Him discriminate among people, among the servants He created? Illallah. They ask the Prophet (peace be upon him): whom do they call a tyrant? A tyrant. A father who discriminates among his children is also a tyrant, he says. If a father who discriminates among his children is a tyrant, would Allah Almighty not be a tyrant when He discriminates among His servants? How can you ascribe such attributes to Allah? Look, one of those attributes is right here.

Sorry?

Of Surah Al-A'raf, of Surah Al-A'raf, verse 179. What does it say?

I am not saying it. All the books write it this way. Some say: oh, is what you say right? Don't say: maybe it was written wrongly in one book. Never say that. They are all the same. Copied from one another. What does it say? By oath, We have created many of the jinn and humans for Hell, it says. Can Allah be like this? Now I am asking you. Does Allah discriminate among His servants and create humans and jinn for Hell?

Had He not left people free in their will? Were those people not to make their wishes and desires their destiny by their own will? Well, does what you say now not contradict these verses? Then how do you ascribe attributes to Allah? There, with my half-baked knowledge of Arabic. You know Arabic, right, and you explain it that way. I don't know Arabic, but I explain it this way. Now, in the light of the verses, whose is right? Yes, what does it say? Whomever Allah wishes to guide to the right path, He opens his heart to Islam. And whomever He wishes to lead astray, He constricts his heart tightly, as if he were climbing into the sky.

Thus Allah places filth on those who do not believe, it says. Towards here, after it, it speaks of those who do not believe. And among those who do not believe there are also those who became Muslims. This is incomplete too. This is incomplete too. Look at the correct version. Whoever wishes to enter Allah's right path, his heart opens to Islam.

What is it? The partial will is in man. He asks, you know: Elestü bi-Rabbiküm. I am your Lord. Not: am I not your Lord — Allah forbid. I am your Lord — a definite command. Yes, they divided into three classes, it says. Those lying disbelievers denied Me, it says. My beloved, do not mind their calling you a liar. In their time they betrayed Me too, it says. What does this mean? Could Allah not have overpowered them? Because He left them free in their own will, He says: one day I will catch you. Yes. Then how can you ascribe attributes to Allah and say: Allah opens whom He wills to Islam, and (?)

What is it? Whoever wishes to enter Allah's right path, his heart opens to Islam. And whoever wants deviance, his heart becomes tightly constricted, as if he were climbing into the sky. Those who do not believe in Allah take such filth, such impurity upon themselves, we say. And this is the correct one.

Well, if you say it the other way, do you not blame Allah? Whomever Allah wishes to guide to the right path, He opens his heart to Islam.

O man! Now think about this last thing you are going to say.

Did this Quran come to the worlds? Well, if it came to the worlds, when Allah Almighty says: become a Muslim like this, would Allah Almighty say to that person's heart: even if you become a Muslim, I do not accept you into being a Muslim. Go over there? Allah. It is this simple. How it was explained wrongly is this simple.

Yes.

It is understood well from the verse too, isn't it? Of course — what is wrong, what is right.

But today I am obliged to repeat what I said a moment ago.

People who have made a name for themselves among those around them — even if they say something wrong, people say: that hodja said so, so-and-so said so. But (?) neither he himself nor those around him know whether it is right. Today, if we are trying to warn (?) people in the light of the verses —

those who see the truth bow their necks. I have nothing to say to them. They bow their necks. Yes, that's right, Hodja, they say. Right. Until now we have heard it this way, known it this way, they say.

The others, though, with egoistic feelings and the passion to be the head, squabble within the circle of ignorance. May I say something? Go ahead. May I say they do not accept the truth because they have made their nafs their god?

Within those various feelings people include both the good and the bad. People who deify their nafs are people outside the religion of Islam. Outside the religion of Islam. These, though, again with their nafs, with egoistic feelings, with the passion to be the head, swim within the circle of ignorance. Ignorance. Again the whim of the nafs, but one is a non-Muslim, the other is within the circle of ignorance. You cannot call him a disbeliever. Yes.

There are such people.

What are they going to learn? They look for mistakes in you. They look for mistakes in you. I wonder which word will contradict which word, so that we (?) it? That's one. I wonder which verse it will contradict, so that we (?) it? There are those who listen like that.

But I appreciate those who listen that way. They learn. If only they listened like that. In the end their mental capacity comprehends. They have intellect. If only they were like this. If only they listened like this. If only, I say. And then there are those who object, you know. There are those who object in their hearts. Those are far further outside than such people.

Have I been able to explain? Have I been able to explain, Kenan Hodja? Yes.

So whoever wishes to enter Allah's right path, his heart opens to Islam. Yes. Now, if he wants deviance, his heart becomes tightly constricted, as if he were climbing into the sky. Those who do not believe in Allah take such filth, such impurity upon themselves.

Allah Almighty sent prophets and books to make His Being known to people.

Even if I had sent you no book and no prophet at all, with the intellect I gave you you should have found Me. But you were deceived in worldly life. We sent you scholars and prophets, books, and so on, so that you may find the truth. And according to the verse: (?) generation, We do not call anyone to account — Allah Almighty shows mercy to people, shows them the truth. Otherwise Allah neither leads anyone to good nor takes anyone to evil. Pay attention. Pay good attention to my words. Try to understand. Allah neither takes to good nor takes to evil. So what does He do, Hodja? Hodja, why did He create people?

He created them so that His Being would be known by their own will. By their own will, without any despotism over them, without any compulsion, He willed that Allah be known within their own will, and He gave them a part of His own spirit. In this case He left the partial will to His people, so as to write reward and sin for them according to people's wish and desire; all these created beings are My servants, and you are My servants, He says. I sent you to an unseen world, and I created your intellect deficient. Lest you could not find Me and would blame Me, I sent you prophets and books. Here you are, He says, here you are.

This is My word. These are the prophets, and these are the scholars. Now, step up. Believe if you wish, or do not believe, He says. Believe if you wish, or do not believe. He puts pressure on no one. He leaves him free in his own will. Yes.

If there were a word other than this, Allah would be given attributes. You took him to what is right; take me to what is right too. Guide him to what is right; guide me too. You can say it about the prophets. That He guided them. You can say it about the prophets. Since through Allah Almighty's verses and His being witness there, if you (?) this to Him, for those prophets there may be no change. And they too accepted it by their own wishes, by their own desires. Because He asks them too: when I send you a prophet, a prophet after you, confirming them, and when I send to (?) a great one as a prophet, to tell them the truth — do you accept this invitation of Mine?

These are verses. They too say yes. If they said no, perhaps He would destroy them. They say yes. Because they are the first created. And I suffice as a witness over you, He says. Other people, souls, have not been created yet. Yes. They too reach that station by their own wishes and desires. Only the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), is the exception. Apart from these. Why? Because our Lord willed that His Being be known; first He created the light of the Prophet from His light. Then He gave him of His spirit. He kept him in worship for 78,000 years. From his light He created these worlds, and from his spirit people.

Yes. He is the exception among these. My Lord educated me. He educated me well, he says.

That is why he is witness to all the prophets. Yes. As a father spreads his wing over his child.

Since all the prophets are from his spirit, he will give them wings like that. He will bear witness.

I suppose it is understood better. The verses.

Allah Almighty sent prophets and books to make His Being known to people. In a world where His Being is veiled, by making man His addressee, He willed to be known through man — this He willed. Allah sent prophets and books to people. Moreover, He gave man the blessing of intellect and, besides it, as Allah Almighty made known in the verses we have covered, insights. Insights. What are these insights, Hodja?

Eyes, ears, hearts, yes, these are given to people: insights, senses, ears, eyes, hearts. You will hear, you will see, with your intellect you will compare, with your heart you will affirm, yes. And human intellect, with these senses, opens their hearts to Islam. Yes. What are we saying? If they wish to be honoured with Islam, Allah opens their hearts to Islam. I skipped a line. Let's take it again. Human intellect, with these senses, sees the truth. It believes in Allah and the Last Day. If they wish to be honoured with Islam, Allah opens their hearts to Islam. Yes. That is, when you say He opens it to Islam here, that heart opens to Islam. Why does it open? Through the Quran sent by Allah Almighty, the person, with his senses, says: yes, this is the truth.

He opens his heart to Islam. He opens his heart to Islam. But it is the person who opens it. Yes. If they wish to be honoured with Islam, Allah opens their hearts to Islam. Earlier we wrote the verses according to the old, that is, according to the day here — that is how it is in the tafsir. But the explanations are according to the new. Because I had no time, I was obliged to bring this out. We received a duty from the Prophet (peace be upon him). People need this, people are in need of this. Bring this out as soon as possible. We could not deal with the translations. We knew the translations were wrong.

In this case we explained these according to the translations to be explained. These tafsirs have not been tampered with. Yes.

If they wish to be honoured with Islam, Allah opens their hearts to Islam. His senses and intellect develop, his comprehension increases, he sees the truth; when his intellect and senses show him that he is on the right path, peace begins in the person.

These are the insights.

With this peace, a person's submission and reliance on Allah Almighty increase.

His faith grows strong, such people enter among those who attain salvation in Allah's sight. We will close it. Yes. Now, he denies Allah and the Last Day and with the contradictions in himself drags people into crises. When his intellect knows Allah and shows the person the right path, if a person prefers deviant paths far from Allah, it shows that the person is going not by his intellect but by his nafs, yes. With such people going down deviant paths, crises and constrictions in their hearts begin in them.

The reason for these constrictions: the intellect shows man what is right and does not lead him to evil paths. The nafs, however, drags man to wishes and desires beyond human capacity. So if a person does not use his intellect and follows his nafs, he goes under loads he cannot bear. A person is squeezed from all sides and by people, and with the evil he has done, the sins he has committed, he starts to be constricted. This constriction Allah Almighty describes with an example: He constricts his heart tightly, as if he were climbing into the sky, He says. That is, anarchy begins in the person, anarchy.

The intellect sees what is right, while the nafs, under a load he cannot bear, drags him within egoistic feelings into kufr, and drags the people into pleasure and indulgence. Let's say a person keeps going into debt so that his income does not match his expenses. He spends this debt, the money he took from people, on the whims of the nafs, on pleasure and indulgence. In the end, when people press him, misery seizes him by the collar.

He goes under a load he cannot bear.

The other side of this: he lives as a non-Muslim. Outside Allah's commands he has no branch to hold on to. To hold on to.

Well, they know Allah too, don't they? No. They do not know Allah the way we do. And since they do not know Him as we do, it does not mean they know Allah. Now we will prove with a verse that they have no branch to hold on to. During a battle, it says, stand firm on your feet, it says. Hold firm. Do not fall back before them. You, it says, at least have a branch to rely on, it says. They do not even have that, it says. How beautifully He says it. A branch to rely on — that is, if you are martyred you will rise in your Lord's sight, and you know that He is your owner, your Lord. You have a branch to hold on to, it says.

They do not even have that, it says.

Yes. Because the non-Muslims have no branch to hold on to, because they have tied their whole existence to matter, they make matter their god. They try to find strength with it. They try to find life with it. In this case they never trust one another. They live with scattered and restless hearts. Indeed Allah Almighty also says: their hearts are scattered and restless.

Well, as a human being, can living like this be called living?

In the end, the place you will go, the place you will set foot — into the fire — knowing it, would you go there? Into the fire. The place you will go is fire. You know it. They send you there. You will come, I mean. One day you will go there.

And in this case, still knowing it, out of stubbornness you keep going there. But someone else says: no, friend, that road is dangerous. There are pickpockets there. There are hard things on that road. I won't go there. Right? I, he says, even if this world does not come to me, my Lord is guarantor of my sustenance. I, he says, until I die He will certainly provide my sustenance, he says. And I, he says, will take my precautions and leave the outcome to Allah. In this case he will say: I want not the world but my Lord's mercy, and he will find himself in the middle of a setting full of peace. Isn't this better?

Yes.

So this constriction Allah Almighty describes with an example: He constricts his heart tightly, as if he were climbing into the sky. With this example Allah Almighty tries to teach people one more piece of knowledge. When people take off by plane and rise to a certain altitude, if the plane does not have a pressurised cabin but is an ordinary plane, because oxygen is scarce and air pressure decreases at heights, the human heart is squeezed and breathing difficulties begin. At altitude. When climbing high mountains, as the internal pressure rises relative to the external pressure, bleeding occurs in the ears and noses.

Our Lord created it so that, by raising this air layer 81 or 83 kilometres above us, He balanced (?) at sea level, one atmosphere of pressure, the beating of our heart, outside and inside. With one atmosphere of pressure. In this case, when a person goes up high, breathing becomes hard, the internal (?) increases. Because the external (?) decreases, ear bleeding and nose bleeding occur in them. When you go higher in altitude, because of the lack of oxygen you cannot breathe and your heart is constricted. You fall into exactly this state, He says. Because oxygen is scarce and air pressure decreases at heights, the human heart is squeezed and breathing difficulties begin.

Allah, who has wisdom in every word, tries to tell us something with Allah's word. Thus Allah proves His existence to people with every verse. If people still abandon Allah and (?) to deviance and evil ways, they will have taken filth upon themselves. That is, they will have taken impurity. Everyone moves away from an impure person. Foul smells come from them. What does the man say? If you enter a tavern, he says, when you come out, the smell of the tavern clings to you. If you enter a coffeehouse, he says, the cigarette smell there clings to you. If you enter a perfume shop, the scent of that place clings to you.

Yes.

They too are filth, impurity. And our Lord says: whoever follows them is like them. They too take filth and impurity into their deeds. Filth here means impurity. At the same time it means the burden of sin. These will have taken on this filth, that is, the burden of sin. Come on.
