This (religion) is the right path of your Lord. We have explained the verses in detail for a nation that will take advice.
Tafsir
(The religion of Islam is the straight path of Allah.) Allah (swt) explains the truth of this path to mankind in great detail and with all sorts of parables. In the Qur'an, He makes it clear to people in a way that every human being can understand that this path and religion is the straight path. With this verse, Allah (swt) declares to every intelligent person that there is no other religion except the religion of Islam. Whoever believes in what Allah says and confirms it, and is with Him, and takes his place on the side of Allah (swt), Allah (swt) will be the guardian, the trustee, the support, the seeing eye, the hearing ear, the walking foot, and the holding hand of such people. These people will go from this world to the Hereafter as the owners of honor and glory. They join the ranks of the victorious.
(We have explained the verses in detail for a people who will take admonition.) The Holy Qur'an is a Book sent as a mercy and guidance for all mankind. If a human being, whose will is in his own hands, seeks the paths of guidance and wishes to attain salvation and peace, the Qur'an is a guide for such people, a light and a proof before them. If these people listen to the advice of the Holy Qur'an and keep the advice, if they try to be judged by the verses, they try to be moralized with the morals of Allah (swt). Whoever adopts Allah's morals, they will attain salvation.
What is said in the video
We have explained the verses in detail for a people who will take heed. So the religion of Islam is Allah's straight path. The rightness of this path Allah Almighty explains to people at great length, bringing every kind of likeness in His explanation. Allah Almighty sent people to the world of possession. People were not programmed the same way, as robots. According to people's own wishes and desires, in the slumbers of egoism, the wishes and desires particular to their own characters, to their own understanding — became their destiny. In this case, since every person's wish and desire is different, according to those people's wishes and desires Allah Almighty brings various likenesses.
For example, among people, the most ignorant and the most learned, Allah Almighty addresses in the Quran, in the language of speech. This Quran is, in a way every person can understand, a remembrance sent in our Lord's language of speech. A light, a radiance, a proof, that is, for people. In this case, with every kind of likeness, that is, in a way every kind of person can understand, Allah Almighty sends His verses to people. For example, what does He say? Allah Almighty never refrains from giving a likeness, (?) a mosquito. What is this? That is, We bring every kind of likeness, from the most ignorant to the most learned.
Well, what happens if We bring likenesses? Allah Almighty proves His Being to everyone with intellect, and that there is no god but Allah, that the rulings He has sent are our Lord's shar'i rulings, that is, our Lord's religion, that is, the religion of Islam — the rulings within the religion of Islam are Allah's sharia, that is, His laws. People governed by these laws are people honoured with the religion of Islam who have taken their place beside Islam, in Allah's ranks. Yes, and people outside this are certainly on a path Allah Almighty does not want, and as people of Hell, of which He said: what an evil destination, they are people who will be driven there.
Now, in this case, we said Allah Almighty explains the rightness of this path to people at great length and with every kind of encouragement.
In the Quran, in a way every person can understand, that this path and religion is a straight place, Allah Almighty openly and clearly makes known to people. What? How does He make it known? First He proves to us that there is no god but Allah. How does He prove it? To everyone with intellect, some miraculous events He has created He shows. For example, in the sky just as He placed the lunar system, the lunar calendar, the sun's, and the world and the moon, around each other's axis, turning, bringing about the seasons, the world turning around its own axis, facing the sun, night and day being brought about, turning that blood clot in the wombs into a skeleton and clothing it in flesh — many such events, miraculous events, He tells us and proves that there is no god but His Being.
In this case, if there is no god but Him, and He is the absolute owner and power of these worlds, whatever He created from the atom to the globe, if Allah Almighty is the owner of these creations, then to people: O people, do not go beyond what I have said, and the laws that will give you life, My laws, do not trample on them. And since I created you as an honoured being, if you observe what I have said, I, I will give you Paradise, He says, I have promised great rewards in the exalted Paradise, I will give them to you, He says. But if you follow Satan's track and, called the two-legged taghut, those people walking in Satan's track — if you attach yourselves to them, they call you to the Fire, and finally to a cliff with no return, and you turn the abode of eternal bliss into an abode of eternal torment, He says.
Yes, He advises us like this. His advice becomes religion for us. It becomes a straight path, and on that path His shar'i rulings come about. If we are governed by these rulings, we find salvation. For example, a state has laws. People governed by that law find life. As long as they do nothing against the law, these people live free. But when they do something against the law, they are caught by that state's officers and thrown into prison. So too, what Allah Almighty calls the straight path — since He is the owner of this straight path, His shar'i rulings become Allah Almighty's religion, within His religion His laws, His laws.
And if one tramples on these laws, because he acts against Allah Almighty's command, because of that, according to the verse: every soul will taste death and finally your return is to Me — these people, in the hereafter, will have sought the abode of eternal punishment. That is why Allah Almighty, because He loves people very much, shows those people the way. With the Quran He has sent, what does our Lord say to us with His verses? Whoever observes this straight path I have shown is on a right path, He says. A right path. That is, he will have been on the straight path of sirat al-mustaqim. And those who go outside it, because they go outside His command, outside Allah Almighty's command, drag their own souls, in a way that brings punishment on them, to destruction.
Yes. With this verse Allah Almighty also declares to everyone with intellect that people have no religion other than the religion of Islam. To everyone with intellect. There is no god but Allah, so how could there be a religion other than Islam? Yes, people can make up religions according to their own intellect. Religions. That is, to the imaginary idols they made up, some words they made up and said with their own intellect, as if those imaginary idols had said them, believing in these, they call them religion and cling to them. In fact they do not cling to them. They cling to the whims of their own nafs — have you not seen?
According to the verse: you, the one who deifies his nafs — these are people who deify their nafs, who have so much pride and arrogance that they cannot see anything around them but themselves — such people. Yes. Indeed, if it continues that way and they pass on to the hereafter, their place is the eternal abode of Hell. Yes.
Whoever believes what Allah says and affirms it, is with it, takes his place in Allah Almighty's ranks — Allah Almighty becomes such people's protector, guardian, support, and also their seeing eye, their hearing ear, their walking foot, their holding hand. These people go from the world to the hereafter as people of honour and dignity. They will have joined the group of the victorious. What does Allah Almighty say? Whoever takes his place in Allah's ranks, his Lord remembers, continues his worship, from the mistakes he has made turns back, feels remorse, returns, turns to Allah Almighty, asks for pardon and forgiveness, and if the person with taqwa adorns himself — then, He says, I become such people's walking foot, holding hand, seeing eye and hearing ear, He says.
Allah Almighty loves people this much, and those who do what Allah says, Allah Almighty in this way, from Himself, in His ranks, as people of honour and dignity, to the hereafter makes them pass on. Such people are those who win both this world and the hereafter, people of honour and dignity in this world and the hereafter.
We have explained the verses in detail for a people who will take heed, He says. For a people who will take heed. Of course, even though the Quran came to the worlds,
to those who denied Allah Almighty at that address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm and waited for the Lord of their imagination, and in this case turned their backs on Allah — what does Allah Almighty say? My beloved, do not listen to their denying you, do not mind it, He says. In their time they betrayed Me too. If He had wished, could Allah Almighty not have made them worship Him? What does He say? If We wished, He says, We would send angels down from the sky, down from among the clouds, and make you prostrate. The meaning here: His always leaving people in their own will, from the lofty station our Lord has given that person, from its loftiness, because He gave the partial will into that person's own hands, because He gives him great value, He leaves him free in his own will.
The proof of this: of His spirit, which He gave to no one in the universe, He gives to man. In this case Allah Almighty holds man as the addressee of His Being. Among these created things, from the atom to the globe, the angels carrying the Throne, the angels remembering Him around it, all included, are created from the light of the Prophet, while people are created from His spirit. From His spirit. Then, if Allah Almighty gave people a part of His spirit, if He gave it, here He gives people great value. That value — in fact He says: I created to see My Being in My Being, you know, Hazrat Süleyman Çelebi says: You took Your Being as the desire of Your Being.
That is, I created you to see My Being in My Being, He says, the Beloved of the Almighty, (?), Muhammad (peace be upon him). And with the partial will He has given people, and by their own will too, since He wants people to know or not know their Lord, Allah Almighty, with the great value He has given people, our Lord — for every people, that is, so that the peoples living on earth may take heed from this Quran, We have explained Our verses in detail, He says. In detail. That is, bringing encouragements in a way everyone can understand, bringing examples, I mean, to everyone with intellect, our Lord explains that there is no god but His Being.
What does He say? We have explained the verses in detail for a people who will take heed. Does Allah Almighty not know who will take heed? He knows very well. How does He know? At this address Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, when He made a covenant with people, Allah Almighty, who wrote their covenant, that is, their will, as destiny for them, says: there is not a single living being coming until the Day of Judgement whose doings We do not know, He says. In this case, how beautifully He uses His word. For a people who will take heed. That is, those who gave their covenant in the beginning as rebels never believe the Quran, and they oppose it and rebel.
In this case Allah Almighty too, in the language of speech, says: among these people, only for those who will take heed from the Quran have We, with every kind of example, explained Our existence to people, He says. The Quran is a book sent to all people for mercy and guidance. A person whose partial will is in his own hands, if he seeks the paths of guidance and wants to reach salvation and peace, then the Quran is a guide for such people, a light before them and a proof. If these people, listening to the Quran's counsel and holding to the counsels, try to be governed by the verses, if they try to take on Allah Almighty's character, such people will have taken their place in Allah's ranks and enter among Allah's chosen servants.
Whoever takes on Allah's character, they attain salvation. Whoever takes on Allah Almighty's character. The Prophet, in his hadiths, says: take on the character of Allah. His character.
And Hazrat Abu Bakr as-Siddiq says: O Messenger of Allah, I wonder, how many traits of character does our Lord have? And the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: O Abu Bakr, in you either six or seven are missing. That is how much he had taken on Allah's character. In you either six or seven are missing, he says. When the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed on to the hereafter, (?) someone, one of those foreigners who came from outside, honours the house of the Prophet with a visit. He knocks on the door. Our mother Aisha says: come in. He says: I was going to ask about the Prophet's character. What was his character like? he says.
Our mother Aisha says: wait here a minute. She goes inside, takes the Quran and brings it. Here, she says, this was the Messenger's character, she says. She shows the Quran. Yes. So, you and we, all of us, if we are governed by Allah's verses, as far as our minds can grasp, if we are governed by them, by those verses, we will have taken on Allah Almighty's character. The more we are governed, the more we sidestep our nafs, the more we use our intellect, the more — when our intellect shows what is right and our nafs starts to overpower our intellect — if we take our place beside our intellect and not beside our nafs, the more we will have taken on Allah's character.
Yes.
