And thus, due to their sins, some oppressors follow others.
Tafsir
Because of the sins that these people have committed, some of them follow others. The human soul is fond of pleasure. In this respect, the human ego is armed with many traits such as egoism, glory and fame, pride and arrogance. Since these traits are pleasing to man, people who live with these traits, people who have the same understanding and aspirations envy these people and follow them. Since their evil deeds are their desires and wishes, they wander in these evil and swampy paths. Thus this group of wrongdoers will follow each other and drag each other to destruction.
This group of oppressors do not use the intellect that Allah (swt) has given to the human being whom He (swt) has created honorable, and they reject the intellect, faith and inspiration that Allah (swt) has given to human beings as a friend by making the evil traits in their nafs their friends, and they are oppressors because those who make the nafs, the devil and the world, which Allah (swt) does not want and which are enemies of Allah (swt), their friends, are oppressors against their own nafs. These are the ones who follow each other, saying gilded words to each other, and expose themselves to torment.
What is said in the video
In one verse, this one too was wrongly interpreted, what does it say? We have written the correct one here. "Thus We make some of the wrongdoers follow after others because of the sins they committed," it says. Allah Almighty. If He attaches them, that is the end of it. (?) It is not like that. "Thus, because of the sins they committed, some of the wrongdoers attach themselves to others." Yes, the wrongdoers. That is, they are of the same mind. People of the same thinking, those who in their time denied Allah, and against Allah Almighty, well, their Lord, people who deny their Lord, in the same thinking and nature, will of course follow one another.
A (?) wagon, just as train wagons are chained to one another, they too are bound to one another that way. Well, since (?) a link of a chain, Muslims too are brothers, they too are bound to one another. Yes.
Because of the sins these people committed, some attach themselves to others. The human nafs is fond of pleasure and revelry. For this reason the human nafs, with ego, fame and glory, pride and arrogance and many such traits, is equipped.
Since these traits please a person, being ruled by them, these people who live with these traits — people with the same understanding and longing envy them, and so they follow after them. Since the evils they do are their own wishes and desires, they wander about on these bad and swampy roads. They spend their lives there. Yes.
Just let a person give his pledge as a rebel against Allah Almighty. In that case a person, a person takes everything said apart from Allah's command as his motto. Allah's command, however, weighs heavy on them. And because it weighs on their own nafs, those who are ruled by Allah's command and break their nafs, (?) people, in the face of those who are in arrogance and pride, appear small before that arrogance and pride. They look down on him. In fact the one looked down upon is himself a believer; he (?) for him, serves as a mirror. Yes, especially this group of wrongdoers, following one another, drag one another to destruction.
The world is a swamp, yes, a swamp. Whoever shoulders the world, and this person who has become a porter of the world he shouldered, he places the love of the world in his heart, desires what Allah Almighty created, and turns his back on his Creator; such a person is a porter of the world. A porter of the world, and such people, since apart from their own nafs, apart from their own pride and arrogance, apart from their fame and glory, apart from their own way of life, their eyes see nothing, preferring this transient worldly life to the hereafter, these people ruled by such ways of life follow one another and drag themselves to destruction.
Yes, the reason that Allah Almighty gave to man, whom He created honored, this group of wrongdoers does not use; they befriend the evil traits in their nafs, and reject reason, faith and inspiration, which Allah gave to people as friends. Yes. Reason, faith and inspiration. Allah Almighty says in (?) of people that they do not know that inspiration. What Allah Almighty has placed in a person's heart: beautiful traits.
According to the verse "aduvvallahi ve aduvvekum", when it calls your enemies Allah's enemies, people at once name our enemies, outwardly, as Ahmet, Mehmet, Hasan, Hüseyin. But are your enemies Ahmet and Mehmet? Only who? According to this verse "aduvvallahi ve aduvvekum", our enemy is Satan. Only Satan? Satan's friends, the two-legged taghuts. Satan.
The world, it too is man's enemy. If you cannot approach it (?), Allah Almighty, approach the world (?) in a good way, you say. That is, if, while you own not a single atom in the world, you think it is yours, if these blessings Allah has given you you shoulder without thanking your Lord and feel love for it, it too is an enemy to you.
What else? Your nafs is an enemy to you. Your nafs gathers without regard for halal or haram. So if we now sum this up here, reason, faith and inspiration are man's friends; the nafs, Satan and the world are man's enemies. Now, three friends against three enemies; whichever side you take your place on, you define yourself there. Three friends, three enemies. In that case, this human whom Allah Almighty created most honored, if he does not use his reason, rejects the inspiration our Lord gave to man and turns his back on faith, this most honored created human, the most honored, why the most honored? He gave him of His spirit.
This human falls to the state of four-legged animals roaming the earth. What does Allah Almighty say? Man is human by his actions, and by some of his actions lower than an animal. They, He says, are like four-legged animals roaming the earth. What is a four-legged animal? It eats, drinks, mates, breeds. It thinks of nothing else. These too, He says, eat, drink, mate, breed. They do not think of the Lord who created them, they do not use their reason. These, sir, are the ungrateful ones themselves, and they are like four-legged animals, He says. At least Allah Almighty programmed that animal for its task, and although that animal does its task according to that program, as in the verse: man is human by his actions and by some actions lower than an animal — if he himself gives up that honored place of his, does not use his will, sir, and falls lower than that animal, of course he will live what Allah Almighty's verse holds in return.
Living this way, sir, preferring this world to the hereafter, they will have sought, in the hereafter, the abode of eternal punishment.
Let us take up the paragraph again. The reason Allah Almighty gave to man, whom He created honored, this group of wrongdoers, this group does not use; they befriend the evil traits in their nafs and reject reason, faith and inspiration, which Allah gave to people as friends. The nafs, Satan and the world, which Allah does not want and which are hostile to Allah, they take as friends. They become oppressive toward their own nafs. They are wrongdoers. These people pay one another gilded compliments. Gilded words. Why do they pay gilded compliments? Yes. They follow one another and leave themselves exposed to punishment.
Why do they pay one another gilded compliments?
Allah Almighty says in His verse: they are lying disbelievers. Lying disbelievers. Again in His verse He says their hearts are restless and scattered. Restless and scattered. So there is no peace in any disbeliever's heart. You cannot find peace in any disbeliever's heart. So peace is only in Islam, in the Muslim, and he too finds peace if he puts his trust in Allah. If he puts his trust. Because that Muslim knows this world is transient, that Muslim knows the world is transient, and finally when he passes from here to the hereafter, trusting in his Lord's mercy, he leans his back against Allah. What a fine (?), what a fine guardian, what a fine Master, he says.
So even if he dies between two millstones in this world, he is content with what comes from his Lord. And so he finds peace. But since a disbeliever has no such thought, they can never find eternal peace. They are restless and scattered. So to find peace they drink alcohol constantly. Alcohol. His wife, his daughter, his whole family drink alcohol. Constantly. What is he after? To drive away his gloom. To lose himself. Well, by losing himself he will add a little color to his life. But alcohol is forbidden to the Muslim. The times he loses himself are a loss from that Muslim's life. He is far from remembering Allah.
Indeed, what does Allah Almighty say in His remembrance? Do not stand for prayer while intoxicated, He says. For prayer. Until you know what you are saying, He says. Do not stand for prayer, He says. So these people have overstepped all of Allah's limits. To find peace, by saying gilded words to one another, their hearts or their nafs, guiding them, they try to find satisfaction there. Satisfying their nafs (?). Because they themselves are in depression, under stress. The proof that they are in this state is this. They do not even have children. Why not? Well, they rarely have children anyway. Why not? Their children do not obey them.
And so their pride is hurt. Instead they keep dogs. He will command the dog. Over that animal he will satisfy his nafs and try to find at least a little peace in his life. That is why these disbelievers pay one another gilded compliments. And so they remain exposed to punishment.
