Al-An'am 133: Your Lord is Ghaniyy (Bounteous) and possessor of forgiveness. If Allah had desired, Allah would annihilate you and create a nation of Allah’s desire after you, just as Allah had created you as the offspring of another nation.

Translation

Your Lord is Ghaniyy (Bounteous) and possessor of forgiveness. If Allah had desired, Allah would annihilate you and create a nation of Allah’s desire after you, just as Allah had created you as the offspring of another nation.

Tafsir

Rich means wealthy. So the true rich is Allah. For the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, belongs to Allah, Who created all things out of nothing. Even if people have wealth on earth, it is only temporary blessings in a lifetime that Allah has given them. According to the verse (All souls will taste death), every human being is mortal in this world and will die. Again, property and wealth will remain with Allah. Therefore, according to another verse, "The inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah", since Allah is the true owner of existence, the sovereignty of all the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. In this respect, Allah is both wealthy and generous. That is to say, He is generous and has created His creation for His servants; Allah does not need His creation.

Allah is the One who wills and wishes. He creates whatever He wills and whatever He wishes. Although we human beings are descended from the descendants of Adam (peace be upon him), we have been separated into tribes and we are the descendants of different tribes. In fact, this separation of tribes happened after the address of Elestu bi Rabbikum. In another verse, Allah (swt) says: "We have separated you into tribes in the earth so that you may be quickly recognized". Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses: "If We had willed, We would have created you into a single nation." We have explained the meanings of these Verses in the previous Verses. Here, without repeating it again, we have given an example for a better understanding of the verse that we have exegeted by giving only the meanings of the verses. Just as He set us free according to our desires and wishes, and wrote their destiny according to the wishes of the people, and divided them into tribes by including them in groups with which He could agree, so He can, if He wishes, destroy us, create a tribe as He wishes, and replace us with them. Allah is able to do these things.

Here a question may come to our minds. Why does Allah not replace us with other tribes, but says to us: "If we wish, we can destroy you and replace you with other tribes? This means that Allah, who created human beings to make His Essence known, reminds people of His existence, His power to create, His omnipotence, and suggests that people should serve Allah accordingly. Accordingly, He reveals His verses to people to explain that whoever does what Allah says will be rewarded and whoever disobeys Allah's commands and prohibitions and turns away from Allah will be punished.

What is said in the video

On page 841 of the commentary, the 133rd verse. In the verse Allah Almighty says: "Your Lord is rich" — of course Allah Almighty, with the power of creation, creates what He wills. If He creates what He wills, since one who gets what he wants is rich, then the one who creates what He wills is the richest of the rich. He is the possessor of mercy. Amenna. (?) mercy, to everyone in the universe, His mercy, to everyone in the universe, and in the hereafter only to the believer.

If He wills, He removes you, and just as He created you from the offspring of another people, after you He creates in your place whatever people He wills, it says. He creates in your place a people as He wills. In our commentary we have mentioned the first meaning.

Let me first tell you the first meaning, and then let us open its other meaning. Rich means possessor of existence. So the truly rich one is Allah. Because He brings beings into existence from nothing; the heavens and the earth and what is between them, all belong to Allah. So there is no being richer than Allah. No created one. With the Creator's richness, the richness of people who receive what the Creator created cannot even be compared. Yes. Even if people own property on earth, these are transient blessings within a lifetime Allah gave them. What does Allah Almighty say? Every soul shall taste death, and finally your return is to Us.

The inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, He says. The inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. That is, every soul shall taste death, and finally the inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain with Allah, He says. The reason is that since Allah is the Creator, of this property and dominion, whatever is created from atom to globe, it proves that all of it belongs to Allah. All of it. It emphasizes here that it was created by Him and that finally all created things will remain to Allah. That is why He is rich. This is what we said in the first meaning.

A general meaning people can understand. Yes. According to the verse "Every soul shall taste death", every person, being mortal in this world, will die. Every person, here. According to the verse: did you think, without proving what kind of person you are, that you would die? While they sustain their lives on earth, at the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm", when they made the covenant with Allah Almighty, the script of the pledge he gave to Allah Almighty he had written there. He had those characters instilled in himself. And in the world, that person will prove what kind of person he is. By the actual deeds he does he will receive reward and sin.

So, by Allah Almighty's art of creation, the deeds man does with his own partial will. Apart from this, the greatest miracle is that Allah Almighty, for all these creatures of His, according to their wishes and desires, every second, every moment, creates events through which they can fulfill their wishes and aims, actual deeds they can live and do. This is Allah's power as God. Our Lord's power.

According to each person's wish and desire, according to his aim, He will create causes. In the universe. They will pour these wishes and desires into actual deeds. By the events they did they will receive reward and sin. So Allah Almighty sent us to the world to make ourselves witnesses to ourselves, to make our surroundings and Allah witnesses. He created us in the realm of the hereafter, and when we made the covenant with Him, well, since He knew our good deeds and sins, He could have sorted us into Paradise or Hell. But there He would have taken on an attribute. Had He done so, He would have taken on an attribute.

Allah Almighty is free of any deficient attribute. Some backward people, backward, because people ruled by superstitions in religion cannot grasp these points, because they cannot grasp them, these people say about us, he says "the Real is of human form". He speaks of human form, they say. That is, he says the Real is in the attribute of human form. This is about me. In that case he cannot realize how much ignorance he is in.

Now Allah Almighty — let us first open these places, then we will move on to our lesson. Allah Almighty in His verse: they ask you about the spirit, say: it is a command of my Lord.

Since Allah Almighty is the universal spirit, though our Lord is also spirit, universal spirit, in the verse too: they ask you about the spirit, say it is a command of my Lord; you have been given very little knowledge of it, very little knowledge. These people who have very little knowledge, if to you, of your Lord — when we say: you too, as a part your Lord created — if into your partial mind it does not fit, let us open this up a bit more. Allah Almighty, from His spirit, created the spirit of Muhammad (peace be upon him).

From his spirit the spirits of the prophets, and in the prophets' spirits the spirits of the peoples He created. Since these events do not fit into your mind the way things fit into that tiny mind of yours, instead of (?), sit and listen. Listen. This spirit Allah Almighty gave is found in no being in the universe other than man.

To the words the superstitions say — people who put a spirit into animals, into nature, who by their own reckoning make the spirit all-encompassing and on Gabriel pin it. On Gabriel. Yet Allah Almighty says: man, and man I created in the most beautiful form. To man, whom He created in the most beautiful form, He gives of His spirit. Of His spirit. To give an example of this, we say: if you take a drop from the oceans, this drop carries the properties of the ocean. Is that so? If Allah Almighty too gave man of His spirit, He creates man as a part of His Being, and the Beloved of the Almighty, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad — about him too Süleyman Çelebi says in the Mevlid-i Nebi: I took his being as a mirror for My Being, he says. I created him to see My Being in his being, he says.

So, this man says (?), Allah Almighty, he says, is (?) — his saying this shows how much ignorance he is in, how unaware he is of the verses of the Quran.

We were going to say this in the second meaning, but here we have slipped it in beforehand.

Since He says the inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah, since the true possessor of existence is Allah, the sovereignty of all the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah. That is why Allah is both rich and ghani. That is, being generous, He created what He created for His servants. Allah has no need of His creatures. This is normally, in the outward sense, written in a way people can understand — a text. But its real meaning is not this.

Its real meaning is not this.

What does it say here? "Ve rabbüke'l-ganiyyü zü'r-rahmeh." Your Lord is rich. The richness here is not material richness. Of course it includes material richness too. Allah Almighty's word is both outward and inward. That we will not apply this to matter, that is, that it has nothing to do with matter, we understand from the words He says after it. What does He say? Your Lord is rich, the possessor of mercy. Mercy. If He wills, He removes you. If He wills, He removes you. And just as He created you from the offspring of another people. Who is the offspring of another people? Descended from Adam (peace be upon him).

Whom does Adam (peace be upon him) come from? He comes from Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). So. There is a very deep meaning here. Very deep. Allah Almighty, the Beloved of the Almighty, the Seal of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) — having created him, and since from his spirit He indirectly created the spirits of all people, His saying He creates from another people too: in place of the Prophet He creates yet another prophet for His Being, and brings forth from his offspring. The meaning of another people goes that far. That is what it says. If He willed He would remove you and, just as He created you from the offspring of another people, that is, just as He created from the offspring of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), just as He created in your place, after you, in your place whatever people He wills, He creates, He says.

How (?) clear the verse is. But as I said earlier, those superstitious minds cannot grasp these. The meaning of the richness here: that Allah Almighty means a richness of knowledge, that is, that He will create everything with His word "Be", He proves to us. Within this proof, why then does He not create? Is Allah Almighty intimidating us? Here. Allah Almighty says: I do what I will. Look, I do what I will. However, I, again from My Being, from that partial one, the Prophet, the Beloved of the Almighty, the Seal of the Prophets, Prophet Muhammad, to My Being if I created him taking him as a mirror, He says, if I created him, and from his offspring too, from his offspring, well, that is, from his spirit too, the other spirits if I created, at the peak of the art of creation, I created you anyway, He says, at the peak of the art of creation. That is, Allah Almighty is going to create a being which, if we draw a comparison with people, people will build a robot, a robot, and without loading any program into it, that robot will recognize its owner, or object to him, or that robot will on its own live. I mean. This is not possible.

This is not possible. Allah Almighty creates man, places partial will in his hand. That is, with his own ability, his own will, by decisions he will make with his own judgment, he is held as one addressed by Allah Almighty, addressed.

Indeed, I created you, He says, I created you honored. I created you honored above the worlds. And a word has gone forth from Us, He says. A word. (?). Moreover, again from Us a word has gone forth. What is it? With Us is a book, He says, preserved in the Preserved Tablet. Nothing is later added to it nor taken away, He says. So, O man! I can remove you, and just as I brought you from one people, I can bring from another people, He says. I remove you and bring other peoples. But according to the verse: who keeps his word more faithfully than Allah? We, He says, have settled this matter, He says.

So put yourselves in order. Put yourselves in order. Do not go outside Allah's verses. Do not push the limits. And to attain your Lord's mercy, submit to your Lord's sharia rulings, He says. This is the real meaning. Yes. (?) are bewildered. They cannot admit this. Yes.

What does it say? If Allah Almighty wills, He removes you, and just as He created you from the offspring of another people, He creates in your place after you whatever people He wills. Allah is the possessor of will and wish. Whatever He wills and wishes, He creates. We humans, though we come from the offspring of Adam (peace be upon him), split into peoples and peoples. We (?) in our coming from the offspring of Adam (peace be upon him). We (?), but we leave it at its outward meaning. What is the outward meaning? Though we humans come from the offspring of Adam (peace be upon him), we split into peoples and came into being from the offspring of separate peoples, we have said.

In fact, We created you from a single soul, He says. A single soul, (?) from a single offspring. A single soul. They cannot grasp this single soul either. Let me explain that single soul to you. More deeply. They say the single soul is descended from Adam (peace be upon him). Before Adam (peace be upon him) came to the world, first his spirit too was created in the realm of lahut. The spirits. And before that the Prophet's spirit was created. If Allah Almighty gave the Prophet of His spirit — spirit, nafs and soul are one, the (?) are separate. (?). Since He gave the Prophet of His spirit, the single soul is Allah Almighty.

Then, from His part, the Prophet, and from him too the spirits created from him. So the single soul goes back to Allah Almighty. Now those small minds say: this man has attributed an attribute to Allah too.

And I do these (?), I explain these. I explain the truth, and correctly. In fact those superstitious heads may attack with even more superstitions, and those superstitions they attack with, we in the face of truth, with the verses, will have cleaned away. yes, what I speak, I say in accordance with the verses, but what they speak, what those superstitions speak, is Ahmet Demet's book, and slanders, yes. So we are speaking of the outward meaning. We are not moving to the inward meaning. That is, we are not moving to the true meaning. We say it outwardly. Allah is the possessor of will and wish. Whatever He wills and wishes, He creates.

We humans, though we come from the offspring of Adam (peace be upon him), split into peoples and came into being from the offspring of separate peoples.

We write these anyway in a way that the general public's mind can understand. Yes. In fact this splitting of ours into peoples happened after the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm". Our splitting into peoples. Each of us made a covenant with Allah Almighty. After the outcome of the covenant, look what Allah Almighty says in His verse. We divided you on earth into peoples so that you may be recognized quickly. So that you may be recognized quickly. By explaining these in the outward meaning, we are also teaching the verses and the covenant to people. The covenant. People have closed off the covenant. They do not know what the covenant is.

Yes.

In a verse Allah Almighty: We divided you on earth into peoples so that you may be recognized quickly. So, according to the pledges people gave, their coming on earth among peoples suited to their own opportunities is a (?) for people. What kind of (?)? As we always say, an Italian, the French, a Frenchman, the Germans, a German, the English, an Englishman, with an America can never bind together. These, by coming among peoples matching their own mindset, since they find their lives there, with their own free thought, nicer and sweeter, and since they can live their actual deeds there more according to their wishes, they will prove themselves better.

They will better prove what they are. Since our Lord knew this when they made the covenant with Allah Almighty, He has those people come from those peoples.

We opened the meanings of these verses in earlier verses. Here, without repeating, only stating the translations of the verses — so that the verse whose commentary we have done can be better understood, it is our giving an example, I say. Yes. So just as He left us free according to our wish and desire, and wrote people's destinies according to their wishes, and divided them into peoples by placing them in groups they can get along with, again, if He wishes, He can remove us and, sending peoples as He wishes, bring them in our places. Allah is able to do these things. We are giving the code here anyway.

That is, when you say He removes us, He removes people. He removes them. Just as us — Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) He created first. He created him first. And if from his spirit He created us indirectly, then indirectly all of them He can destroy, and new beings He is able to create. The reason He does not create: according to the verse "who keeps his word more faithfully than Allah?", and since He says: with Us is a book preserved in the Preserved Tablet, to it nothing is later added nor taken away — He will not bring another people again either. So the code here is a signal to us, as I said earlier: O people, We have made you honored above the worlds. Above the worlds.

We created you the noblest of creatures. We gave of Our spirit and held you as addressees of Our Being. So beware, do not draw near any god other than Allah. That is, do not associate partners with Allah. (?) the messengers I sent. Hold fast to the commands I sent so that you may attain Allah's mercy, He says. That is the situation.

Here a question may come to our minds. Why does Allah, while not bringing other peoples in our places, say to us: if He wills, He removes you, We bring another people in your place? From this it is understood that Allah, who created people so that His Being would be known, by reminding people of His power to create beings, that He is capable of everything, advises people to be servants of Allah accordingly. Accordingly, that whoever does what Allah says will be rewarded, and whoever Allah's commands and prohibitions does not heed and turns his back on Allah will be punished — to tell this, He declares His verses to people so clearly.
