And they have given a share to Allah from the crops and animals that Allah has created, and they say; “This is for Allah and this is for our partners (idols).” What they spare for their partners does not reach Allah but what they share for Allah reaches their partners. How wrongly they judge.
Tafsir
When the polytheists, these idolaters, take the bounties that Allah has created and made available to mankind, when they allocate a share to Allah from a vineyard, garden, crops or animals, they say that this much belongs to Allah and that much belongs to their idols whom they associate with Allah. They distribute the wealth allocated to Allah to the poor and needy, but the wealth allocated to idols they use as they please.
Allah's justice in this division of these people is such that Allah says that what is set aside for Allah reaches their partners, even though they associate partners with Allah, showing that Allah does not need anything, and that what is given for Allah is given to Allah's creatures, showing that Allah gives life to the whole universe. But in addition to this, the fact that he says that what is set aside for partners does not reach Allah, and that some of the crops or animals set aside for idols are sacrificed to idols and some are used for their own benefit, shows that what they do in the darkness of shirk does not reach Allah. When he says, "Those who leave for their partners do not reach Allah," he shows that their idols have nothing to give to Allah, and that Allah created all created beings, and that they are all Allah's, and how illogical and cruel their division is.
In the days of ignorance among the Arabs, they used to allocate some of their wealth to Allah and some to their idols. They would say, 'This is for Allah and this is for our idols. What was allocated for Allah, they would distribute to the poor and needy for the sake of Allah. But of what was allocated for their idols, they would sacrifice some of it to them and eat some of it themselves. When they made these allocations, if they allocated more than Allah's right to their idols, they would take it and use it for themselves or some of it for their idols. But if there was a surplus from their idols to Allah's right, they would immediately take it and allocate it to themselves or some of it to their idols. They were very careful not to let too much of the worldly desires go to Allah's right. They say that this is why this verse was revealed.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-An'am, verse 136. The verse:
From the crops and livestock Allah created, they set aside a share for Allah and, by their claim, said: this is for Allah, and this for our partners, our idols. The idolaters of Mecca said so. This for Allah, and this for His partners, the idols. What was set aside for Allah did not reach Allah, but what was set aside for their idols they would (?) very thoroughly.
What is set aside for their partners does not reach Allah. Their partners. But what is set aside for Allah reaches their partners. How evil, it says. How evil. How evil is their judgement, it says.
Let us read what these people did. In the past, in the age of ignorance, the Arabs too set aside from their property, for Allah and for their idols, a certain amount. This is Allah's, and this is our idols', they used to say. What was set aside for Allah they distributed to the poor and needy for Allah's sake. What was set aside for Allah. To the poor and needy? That reaches Allah anyway, it says. What was set aside for Allah, these our idols, what was set aside for Allah they distributed for Allah's sake to the poor and needy. But part of what was set aside for their idols they sacrificed to them, and part they ate themselves again.
While making these divisions, if from Allah's share to their idols an extra (?) were found, they would take it, for themselves, or use some of it for their idols. But when an extra passed from their idols to Allah's share, they would split hairs and take this extra at once, setting it aside for themselves or part of it for their idols. (?) they took great care that nothing extra passed to Allah's share. This verse was revealed for this, they say, it says. It was revealed, they say.
From the crops and livestock Allah created they set aside a share for Allah, and by their claim said: this is for Allah, and this for our partners, our idols. What is set aside for their partners does not reach Allah. It does not reach Allah. They eat it themselves.
But what is set aside for Allah reaches their partners. What is set aside for Allah. They give it to their partners.
Because Allah does not create them. What an evil judgement they make, it says. What an evil judgement they make. The idolaters, these idol worshippers, when they obtain the blessings Allah creates and offers to people, a garden, a harvest, or when they set aside a share for Allah from livestock, they say this much is Allah's, and this much belongs to the idols they associate with Allah. The goods set aside for Allah they distribute to the poor and needy, but what is set aside for the idols they use themselves as they please. In this division these people make, Allah's justice is this: that He says, although they associate partners with Allah, what is set aside for Allah reaches their partners, shows that Allah needs nothing, and that what is given for Allah is given to Allah's creatures; its being given to Allah's creatures shows that Allah gives life to the whole universe.
Because what Allah created reaches their partners, it says. Even if they are partners, since they associate them with Allah, that is, since they set them up as gods besides Allah, what Allah created they gave to those partners they associated and called gods. Those idols they worshipped as gods are unaware even of themselves, in need of what Allah created. If Allah can give what He created to His creatures, and you worship that idol, and that idol needs what Allah created, needs what Allah created, and you give it what it needs, by what reason do you worship it as a god? A god is the Creator. A god is the one who needs nothing for himself.
A god is the Giver. The Lord is the Creator. By what reason do you make a second Lord? The (?) of your Lord who created you, (?), you offer to it, and with your own hand, as an enemy of Allah, you serve that idol you associate, which is unaware of itself. Though it can create nothing, you call it a god and serve it. Whereas Allah, who created you, is constantly gracious to you. Constantly gracious. In this case
Yes, in this case, how much people are enemies of Allah, and that, so as not to take Allah's word in their mouths, they associate partners with Allah, how well Allah Almighty here declares in His verse. Yes.
So in this division these people make, Allah's justice is this: that He says, although they associate partners with Allah, what is set aside for Allah reaches their partners, shows that Allah needs nothing, and that what is given for Allah is given to Allah's creatures shows that Allah gives life to the whole universe. But besides this, His saying that what is set aside for the partners does not reach Allah, does not reach Allah: of the crops or livestock set aside for the idols, part is sacrificed to the idols. What does Allah Almighty say? In His verse: do not eat what is slaughtered in the name of other than Allah.
That is what does not reach Allah. Do not eat either what is given in the name of other than Allah. This does not reach Allah. Yes, of the crops or livestock set aside for the idols, part is sacrificed to the idols, part again used for their own benefit; therefore the deeds they do in the darkness of shirk do not reach Allah, He decrees. When He decrees that what is set aside for their partners does not reach Allah, it shows that their idols have nothing to give to Allah, that Allah created all created beings and all of them belong to Allah, and how illogical and unjust their division is.
