Translation

Idolaters will say; “If Allah had wished, neither we nor our ancestors would have associated partners to Allah. And we would not have made anything forbidden.” There are those who denied (their Prophets) in the same way before, and at the end, they tasted Our punishment. Say; “Is there a knowledge with you that you will explain to us? You do not follow anything but superstition, and you are only telling lies”.

Tafsir

The speech of the idolaters, of those who do not believe in Allah, is an attempt to blame Allah, to make their own will appear to be the will of Allah, and to slander Allah and to try to make Him pay for the crimes they have committed.

In this verse, Allah (swt) wants to remind the people of the Awwal al-Barzah, and He is trying to explain this place to the people with His verses and scholars by saying, "Do you have any knowledge of this?" by throwing their ignorant talk in their faces. O people! Your Lord was an unknown treasure, He willed it to be known. He created man, whom He held very close to Himself and to whom He was addressed, and gave him his soul. In this respect, man has become the equal of creation. And in this respect, man was created as the caliph of the earth.

In this situation, Allah, who values human beings very much, left human beings free in their own will, addressing them (in Kalu Bela) as "I am your Lord", and sent them to the realm of property, where His Essence is invisible, by making a covenant with them, whether they believe in Allah, who is exactly like human beings, or not.

Allah (swt) is free from all imperfect attributes. By sending people to the realm of property, we created these realms so that people would not say to Allah: O Allah, I could not obey you because I saw you as close to me there, (if you had sent me to a realm where your Essence is not visible, see how I would have worshipped you), and I sent you to the realm where my Essence is veiled, to the life of the world.

In fact, it is clear what each person will do. Therefore, when people wake up at the moment of death, as if waking up from sleep, they will say to Allah (swt): ("O Allah, send me back to this world and see how I will worship You. Allah (swt) is not cruel that He knows that people will return to Him, but He does not give them opportunities. For them to talk in this way is to deceive themselves. Allah (swt) says: "If We were to send you back to the realm of property not once but several times, you would still do the same deed.

What I mean by this is; As I gave an example in previous lessons, if you shoot a video on a video tape, whichever television you play this video tape on, it always shows the same. There is not even an iota of change in it. So, whatever a human being has willed from Allah (in Kalu Bela), Allah has written his will as his destiny. It is not possible for it to change. Therefore, no one can accuse Allah (swt) or attribute any crime to Him.

So the idolaters and disbelievers, in order to blame their sins on Allah, said, 'We never used to associate partners with Allah, nor did we or our ancestors forbid anything. Those before them attributed crimes to Allah with the same tales. They tasted the punishment of Allah for their denial of the Prophets.

(Say: Do you have any knowledge with you that you can explain to us? You follow nothing but conjecture and you only lie).

They have no knowledge and no proof, and their speech is nothing but lies, for they are subject to what they have invented in their own minds. They themselves are in delusions. They realize with their intellect that the words spoken to them are true. However, because the footsteps of their ancestors are pleasing to their ego, the swamp of disbelief appears to them, and they do not want to get out of this swamp and see the truth. Such people run after delusions and lies. His life is spent in the desire to win the world and live in pleasure.

The atrocities of such people can only be prevented in society by fear of the law. Where the law is lax, these people disregard human rights and law and disrupt the order and security of society. They cannot experience love for people. They are always trying to gain the upper hand over each other by looking for each other's vulnerabilities. Since they are very fond of their pride and arrogance, they try not to lose their position and authority. This is because they are used to people complimenting them. They know very well that this compliment and respect is not for themselves, but for their position or wealth. Therefore, they value their wealth and position very much for their own sake. They resort to all kinds of means in order not to let their wealth and position slip away from them. They do not hesitate to make slander against people, never avoiding suspicions. They cannot see the truth because of the pride and arrogance of their own ego. Such people are cruel. They are cruel to their own souls.

What is said in the video

Verse 148 of Surah Al-An'am. The idolaters will say: Had Allah willed, neither we would have associated partners, nor our forefathers. Nor would we have forbidden anything.

Those before them likewise denied the prophets. And in the end they tasted Our torment. Say: Do you have any knowledge with you that you can show us? Is there any knowledge? You follow nothing but conjecture. And you only lie, it says. Lies. You only lie. Why does He say this? Now the idolaters will say: Had Allah willed, neither we nor our forefathers would have associated partners. Yes. They are telling the truth. The idolaters here are telling the truth. What does it say? Had Allah willed, neither we nor our forefathers would have associated partners. Had We willed, says Allah Almighty, We would have created you one single community.

One single community. Was it beyond Allah Almighty's power? Not creating us as one single community. But He gave us from His spirit and left partial free will to us. He took us as those He addresses. He created us the noblest of creatures. He made us honourable above the worlds. Above the worlds. So the spirit in him: fame, glory, pride, arrogance, ego, grandeur and desire, worldly desire. Such egotism too, of course. People equipped with such traits (?) lie. Within these traits. They wanted their own wishes and desires. They had their aims written for themselves as destiny. Allah Almighty made a covenant with each of them separately over their aims.

Then why did you not say it this way, instead of saying this, why did you not say You are my Lord, why did you not recognise Him? Yes, and what does Allah Almighty say? When He said I am your Lord, there they divided into three groups. Three groups: wa kuntum azwajan thalathah, pairs coming from one another, that is, (?), they are of three kinds, it says. Fa ashab al-maymanati ma ashab al-maymanah, the people of the right, wa ashab al-mash'amati ma, the people of the left; these are they. That is, the idolaters, that is, the non-Muslims. Yes,

that is, when you say those of the left, in some branches of Islam there are left-minded people; my community will split into 72 (?); one of them is Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah, he says, the saved sect; in this situation their judgement is left to Allah, of course, everyone's judgement, but we are talking about non-Muslims.

In this situation their own aims were written for them as destiny, and within that destiny of theirs, within their destiny, rebelling against Allah Almighty, they waited for the Lord of their imagination, whereas Allah Almighty, about them: They will not see their Lord, He says. Their Lord. So they are lying. What does He say anyway? You only lie, He says. He says it is over and done there. Because those places are closed in the world, in this situation they try, in the world, with matters of the self, according to their desires and wishes there, to clear themselves. Yes. Against their words, Allah Almighty in the verse: Had We willed, a single community We would have created, He says.

So His giving a part of His own Being, leaving man free in his will and writing their wishes and desires as their aims, their aims as destiny, creating that man as the noblest of creatures and creating him honourable above the worlds. Yes.

Those before them likewise denied the prophets. They too, those before them too, they, it says, how their hearts are made to resemble one another, says Allah Almighty. Although only a little time has passed over the earlier ones, it says, their destruction, a little time having passed since they were destroyed, a little time having passed over them, how their hearts are made to resemble one another. Because the same idea, the same thought, people of the same make-up, with the same mindset; people. Yes. Those before them likewise denied the prophets. Because when the prophets brought the truth, being with this truth, being with it, they never (?).

I was late, you see. (?).

(?) (?) they, it says, they, by denying the prophets, tasted Our torment. That is, they were destroyed.

Say: Do you have any knowledge with you that you can show us? Is there? Is there any knowledge with you, it says? Has a proof come to you from Allah? But if that proof exists, show it. Well, if you deny the prophet, the prophet has proof, he has a book, verses come, and for the unfolding of your reason, for you to find peace, to develop that short reason of yours, to hold a light before you, what beautiful words He speaks to you. But you, to leave your own self exposed to torment and so that your heart lives in unrest and disarray, invent lies against the truth and leave your own self exposed to wrong.

You follow nothing but conjecture. Conjecture. Because We closed that world of the Hereafter to you. You are in a conjecture that you are in this world. In conjecture. We have the truth explained to you through prophets and scholars. We have the truth, justice and the verses explained. But you still go on with your stubbornness, deifying your self, He says. You go on living your superstitious ideas. Because, to suit your worldly lives, of the (?) taghut and of Satan, according to the desire against your self, the sides that please you, alongside the sides that please you through matters of the self, you take up. In this situation the word of truth weighs heavily, He says.

The word of truth. Yes.

And you only lie. Lies. Because at that Alast (?), you made a covenant with Allah Almighty. You said I want this, this and this. And you had your aim written for yourself as destiny. Allah Almighty, without any despotism, pressure or coercion over you, left you free in your will; although He (?) your aim to you, how do you say, had Allah willed, what sin would we commit? What does He say? We would have stepped out of what He said. So what does Allah Almighty say? Despite your covenant with Allah Almighty at that address Alastu bi-Rabbikum, they only lie. Lies, He says, lies. They (?) nothing but lies, into conjecture.

They only lie.

The speech of the idolaters, of those who do not believe in Allah, blaming Allah, presenting their own will as Allah's will, is their wish to pin the crimes they committed on Allah by slander. You created me like this. What can I do? If You had not created me, I would not have committed this crime either; with such words they try to blame Allah.

Yes. In this verse, Allah Almighty, wanting to remind people of the first barzakh, the first barzakh, throws their ignorant talk in their faces, and by saying, do you have any knowledge about this in your hands, tries, through verses and His scholars, to explain this to people. O people! Your Lord was a hidden treasure; He willed to be known. By creating man, whom He holds very close and addresses, He gave him from His spirit. Therefore man became the noblest of creatures, and again for this reason man was created as the vicegerent of the earth. In this situation Allah, who values man greatly, leaving man free in his own will, at the Day of Bala, addressing people, I am your Lord, with man's (?) Allah, with whether people believed or not there, Allah made a covenant with them and sent them to the world of dominion, where His Being is not seen.

Here we are recalling short sentences. We explained these a moment ago. Yes. We explained them.

These verses here are entirely inward. Mystical and inward. These are not verses to be explained with normal human minds. Not to be explained with normal verses. Only you will see those places. Our Lord will make you live those places. And with inspiration, with knowledge, as He gives knowledge, He will give its wisdom. And He will have you explain it to people from the root. I do not think, there are so many tafsirs, that you would find what I explain there. There. Nor is it possible for you to find it. So I think, because those who see those places write this, they write this place like this, because this is what the verse corresponds to; yes.

Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes; by sending people to the world of dominion, so that people do not say to Allah Almighty, O my Allah, because I saw You there as close to me, I could not obey You. Had You sent me to a world where Your Being is not seen, look how I would have worshipped You, so that you do not say this, We created these worlds and sent you to the world where My Being is veiled, to the life of this world, He says. Yes, to the life of this world.

In fact, what each person will do is certain.

Where is it certain? People who made a covenant with Allah Almighty at that address Alastu bi-Rabbikum, since their wishes and desires, their aims, were seen as their destiny, each person; there is not a single living being that will come until the Day of Judgement whose deeds We do not know: according to the verse, it is known by Allah Almighty. But since Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes, as I said a moment ago, so that people do not say: You created me very close to Your Being, I could not understand that You are my Lord, I could not know. You should have sent me to an unseen world, a world where Your Being is not seen, and made Your Being known; I would have worshipped You there.

Just for this these worlds were created.

In fact, what each person will do is certain. Therefore, when people wake at the moment of death as if waking from sleep, they will say this to Allah Almighty. What will they say? What does it say in Surah Al-Waqi'ah? When the soul reaches the throat: fa lawla idha balaghati'l-hulqum. And when the soul reaches the throat, wa antum hina'idhin tanzurun. Come, turn it back, it says. Turn it back. Wa nahnu aqrabu ilayhi minkum wa lakin la tubsirun. All the relatives, it says, have gathered around him. Waiting for the soul to leave. Yes. At that moment, until the soul reaches this thigh bone, or here the (?) bone, the door of repentance is open; after it reaches there, it closes.

After it closes, the world of the Hereafter is shown to him. That is when humanity wakes up. When it sees that world of the Hereafter, when it sees the covenant there. That is, what he lived before, locked in this memory, opens at once. Like what? Well, those who are abroad get up and go to where they were born; he goes to his mother's and father's hometown. Sir, he sees them. Does he forget that place? Or the person who has never left his home: his neighbour to the right and left in his neighbourhood, or his cow, his animal, does he forget them? While asleep he is unaware. That is the state of man's life in the world, in the world.

Because he knows what he will do when he wakes from this sleep. He knows the rooms of his house, the door, the outside. Just as he knows this, man too, as soon as he wakes from sleep. That is, when that world of the Hereafter is shown, then man says alas, but that alas is worth nothing anymore. Why? A treasure of a lifetime has flown away from you. It has flown away. Alas. My Allah, send me back once more. Look how I will believe in You. He will say. That too is a deception. A deception. Because characters do not change, it is a deception. But what does Allah Almighty say? Even if We sent you back not once but several more times, you would do the same thing again, He says.

Yes.

O my Allah, send me back to the world once more, look how I will worship You, he says. Allah Almighty is not unjust, that, although He knows people will return to His Being, He would not grant them chances. Allah Almighty is not unjust. What does He say in the verse too? If only, He says, when they see the torment, they had known Me here, He says. When they see the torment: they have interpreted this verse backwards too.

They added a word there. One word. Of course, because they could not know. What does it say? When they see the torment, if only they had known Me before. It says. Before. Well, when they see the torment, a sign of the Hour. Where does before come from here? Where does before come from here? Because by their reasoning he will know it beforehand, you see. In the world. He tries to mean that. Whereas here, with Allah's attribute of mercy, the characters Allah Almighty gave people; because he cannot know that those characters will not change, he links this before, by his own reasoning, to the world.

What does it say? When they see the torment, if only they had known Me, it says. If only. In proportion to the sins they committed, We would, in Hell, it says, leave them subject to torment. To torment. After they served their punishment, We would take them out, it says. I would abolish Hell too, says Allah Almighty. I would abolish Hell too. But since they will not turn back again, Paradise and Hell are eternal. Yes.

I too, probably, there is a broadcast. At one point it seemed to cut out on my side, there is a broadcast. Yes.

So Allah Almighty is not unjust, that man will know his Lord there and his Lord will leave him subject to eternal torment. The person who passed to the Hereafter with the light of faith but did not worship Allah, whose load of sin is heavy, in Hell, from that light of faith, will feel a love for his Lord, a love, and he will have a passionate affection for his Lord. He will even find the punishment Allah Almighty gave him light. And Allah Almighty says, O My servant, come out of there, (?). The other, as his rebellion increases, you see, as the torment there increases, his rebellion against Allah Almighty increases.

And he is imprisoned in a fixed filth, within a certain frame. In that frame he waits for the Lord of his imagination. He will come, and they will take revenge on Allah who created them. So they remain there eternally in this way. Yes.

So, although He knows they will return to His Being, it says, that He would not grant them a chance. Their talking this way is self-deception. Indeed, Allah Almighty: Even if We sent you to the world of dominion not once but several more times, you would do the same thing again, He decrees, it says. What is meant by this, as we gave the example in earlier lessons too: if you record onto a video tape, whichever television you play this video tape on, it always shows the same. Even (?) there is no change in it. So in man, apparently, whatever he willed from Allah, Allah wrote his aim for him as destiny. It is not possible for this to change.

So no one can blame Allah Almighty. Nor can anyone attribute a fault to Him. Yes. Nor can anyone attribute a fault to Him.

So the idolaters and unbelievers, to pin the sins they committed on Allah, said: neither would we have associated partners with Allah, nor we and our forefathers would have forbidden anything. Those before them, with the same tales, attributed fault to Allah. Because they denied the prophet, they tasted Allah's torment.

What is Allah's torment?

Like the people of Lot.

Like the people of 'Ad. Like the people of Thamud. Like the people of Noah. Like Pharaoh's people. They all tasted the torment. And Pharaoh too: in Surah Yunus, verse 92, His saying, today I will leave your lifeless body as a lesson for the worlds, and his lifeless body being found in the Red Sea and being taken to (?) in England; in the state of prostration they laid him on his side like this. Yes.

It is one of Allah Almighty's miracles.

Well now, now, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, the destructions were lifted; afflictions are given, afflictions. So that they do not say, my Allah, if You had given us an affliction, if You had slapped us, we would have returned to Your Being; so that they do not say this, He gives afflictions. Yes.

Say: Do you have any knowledge with you that you can show us? You follow nothing but conjecture, and you only lie. While they have no knowledge or proof in their hands, since they follow what they invent from their own heads, their talk is nothing but lies. Their talk is nothing but lies. I explained a moment ago why they lie. Because back at that address Alastu bi-Rabbikum they had their aims written for them as destiny, and this time, coming into the world, they do not remember them there; they say this to pin their own filthy deeds on Allah Almighty.

Since they follow what they invent from their own heads, their talk is nothing but lies. They themselves are in conjectures. They grasp with their reason that the words told to them are true. But since the tracks of their forefathers please their selves, the swamp of unbelief, appearing adorned to them, they do not want to escape this swamp and see the truth. Such people chase conjectures, chase lies. Their life passes in the desire to gain the world and live in pleasure and enjoyment. (?). Even if, in golden palaces, on satin quilts and beds they laid you, if in the world vineyards, gardens, rivers flowing beneath them were yours, as Pharaoh said: O people, Pharaoh, the people of Egypt, this is mine, he says, are the rivers not mine, he says.

Yes. Are you not my servants too, he says. Are these lands not mine, he says.

Then, then he tastes the torment in the Red Sea; as a lesson for the worlds Allah Almighty leaves his lifeless body.

What if it were all yours? You will leave it and go. (?). Yes. That is why you will live this world, you will live it, but you will live everything at its worth. You will live everything at its own worth.

But since the tracks of their forefathers please their selves, the swamp of unbelief, appearing adorned to them, they do not want to escape this swamp and see the truth. Such people chase conjectures, chase lies. Their life passes in the desire to gain the world and live in pleasure and enjoyment. The oppression of such people in society too is prevented only by fear of the law. Where the law is lax, these people, disregarding human rights and law, disrupt the order and security of society. These cannot taste love for people. They always strive not to expose themselves to one another and, searching for each other's weak points, to gain superiority over one another.

So with that pride and arrogance they prepare their own destruction.

Because they are very attached to their pride and arrogance, they try not to lose their positions and ranks. This state of theirs is because people are used to flattering them. Because they know very well that this flattery and respect are not for them but for the position or wealth they have. Therefore they value their wealth and position greatly for their own selves. To not let their wealth and position slip from their hands, they resort to every means. Never shrinking from (?), they do not shrink from slandering people either. Because of the pride and arrogance of their own self, they cannot see the truth.

So such people are the wrongdoers. They are unjust to their own selves.
