Say; “Come join, let me read to you what your Lord has forbade. Do not associate partners with Allah, be good towards parents. Do not kill your children from fear of poverty. We give provision to you and your children. Whether openly or in secret, do not approach bad deeds and do not kill unjustly a life that Allah has forbidden. These are Allah’s orders to you so that you will contemplate.”

Tafsir

The object that Allah (swt) is most angry with people and considers among the great sins is associating shirk with Allah (swt). If Allah gives so many blessings and bestows so much of His mercy on people, and then people attribute Allah's blessings to someone else, such people are indeed both ungrateful and cruel. May Allah protect us from such situations. It is an act of mindlessness, ingratitude and hatred against the Creator.

Allah is one. He has no partner or spouse. He has no likeness. Here I would like to elaborate a little on the meaning of similar. When we say similar, we do not mean similar in shape and form. What is meant by similar is that He created death and life, created out of nothing, is immortal, does not need His creatures, is omnipotent over all His creatures, is unborn and unbegotten, that is to say, Allah, with His attribute of Godhood, has no equal. Otherwise, it is not a state of unlikeness to His Essence. If we go a little deeper here. Allah has the attribute of Essence. Humans have the attribute of Essence. A similarity occurs here. This similarity is because Allah (swt) has given people His spirit. Therefore, the particular attribute is man and the universal attribute is Allah. Therefore, when Allah says, "I am in my servant's imagination, I am as they imagine me to be," it is because Allah (swt) is constantly changing attributes.

Allah (swt) does not remain in a particular attribute. In this respect, He says, "I am the opposite of what they know me to be and the opposite of what they know me to be. When Allah (swt) manifests in the human heart, He manifests in various attributes. If we go deeper from here, since it is not possible for people to grasp a science that they do not know, it is useful for them to know this much.

Then do good to the parents. Because these are the people who have tried day and night to raise their children entrusted to them. Every parent wants their child to be a good person. However, it is our Lord's command that they should not be angry that their situation is not suitable and their children are angry that their fathers cannot provide them with the desired life, but they should not refrain from doing good to them. Because sustenance is with Allah.

Do not kill your children for fear of poverty, Allah provides for them and their parents and all creation. Put your trust in Allah.

Do not approach the open and the hidden evils. Do not make secret friends and do not indulge in fornication, drinking, gambling and haram. And do not kill unjustly, which Allah has forbidden. These are what Allah has commanded mankind. Every rational person understands and realizes that there is no deficiency in Allah's laws, that they are life-giving, that the Creator informs His creatures of their needs and sheds light before them. Until then, so that those who take a lesson from the truth, who think, and those among them, who will turn to the truth, may find the right path.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-An'am, verse 151: Say: "Come, let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden," says Allah Almighty.

Why did Allah Almighty make things forbidden? Couldn't He have made everything lawful? He could have. He could also have made things that He made neither lawful nor forbidden at all. From His doing this, His doing it this way, two reasons we will grasp. Two reasons. First, He created creatures that would filter the world. That would filter the world. And with each other they filter the world, filter, in this case, without His creatures making filth in the world — just as a house gets dusty and, by the housewife or by cleaners, is swept and cleaned, Allah Almighty too cleans His creations in this way.

He cleans with His creations. Look now, an animal dies. Lions tear it apart at once. The remaining parts, the bones, hyenas tear up. Uh, if the remaining parts rot there, vultures come and clean it all. They make it spotless, leaving no filth.

His forbidding because of a filter; the human body — to protect it, to protect the human body, He forbids. Now these two things, two things, at one point we can combine. Two things. Since Allah is the Creator, He could have created His creations without letting them rot, in a way that would not harm people's health. Because He is the Creator. He could have created it that way too.

So when we combine these two forms of creation, we see that this is the summit of Allah Almighty's art of creation and that He is All-Powerful over everything. Its being like this — whether one listens to our Lord's command or not — people's obedience or disobedience toward Allah Almighty will come to light. They will earn reward and sin. A fine order. A very fine order. Yes. It's understood, I suppose. It's clearly understood. Well then, come, let me recite to you what your Lord has forbidden. Do not associate anything with Him, He says. Be good to your parents. Yes.

Uh, here: out of fear of poverty do not kill your children, He says. Out of fear of poverty. We provide for you and for them, He says. Do not approach indecencies, open or hidden. And do not unjustly take a life Allah has forbidden. These are what Allah has commanded you. So that you may think and understand. So that. Yes. Those among them, those who think.

Perhaps those who live that life and later will return to pardon and forgiveness. But they say "it is hoped that." It is hoped that you will think and understand. As if Allah doesn't know who will think — "it is hoped that you understand." Yes.

The thing for which Allah Almighty is most angry with people, and which He counts among the major sins, is associating partners with Allah.

And going against mother and father. Because the mother and father have a great right over the child.

Where does this right come from? One, first of all, for people to reproduce, Allah Almighty made man and woman love each other, and that person, by fulfilling Allah's command, having a child, by becoming a parent. That's the first. Allah's command is fulfilled. He has that child. Second, the mother and father spend their lives for those children. They feed them. They have a right over them.

In this case, just as Allah Almighty feeds people, gives them drink, and humanity is ungrateful, if people are ungrateful toward Allah Almighty and are punished, then those who go against mother and father too have a great punishment. In Allah's sight. Yes.

And what does He say in Surah Luqman? First obey Me, then your mother and father, He says.

The thing for which Allah Almighty is most angry with people, and which He counts among the major sins, is associating partners with Allah. Allah gives so many blessings and grants so much mercy to people, and then man gets up and attributes these blessings Allah gave to someone else, if he attributes what Allah created to someone else. That is, (?).

I — or not me, but Ahmet, Mehmet — or let's mean you, the listeners: you see someone in need, you take him by the hand, you feed him, give him drink, give him a job, open up a field of work for him; he takes these and goes on, eats and drinks, then turns his back on you and says, "Well, if so-and-so hadn't helped me," or "I asked so-and-so and he, you know, accepted my prayer," he prays to so-and-so, to someone other than Allah: "He gave to me," uh, he forgets the giver, or he forgets you. wouldn't that hurt you? That is how Allah Almighty gives to people. If they forget Allah, and those people imagine it came from the partners they associate with Allah, according to their own reasoning, and accept it that way, then tomorrow on the Day of Judgment: "What you asked for, I too created. Since it was within your destiny, I gave those wishes too.

Because you associated partners with Me, because you denied Me, today your place is here," He says. That is, hell. That is, the place of torment. Yes.

Such people are truly both ungrateful and wrongdoers. The wrongdoing is against their own nafs. May Allah protect all of us from such states. This is a product of injustice, ingratitude, and spite and hatred toward one's Creator. Of people toward their Creator. Yes. Allah Almighty is One. He has no spouse or partner. Nor is there anything like Him. Like, that is, a like equal to Him, a creator. When we say "like," it is not within the attributes. Yes. Here I said I wanted to touch a little more deeply on the meaning of "like." Here we're trying to explain it. When "like" is said, shape and form are not meant.

Because, since He gave of His spirit, attributes of essence — just as Allah Almighty has His attribute of essence, people too have attributes of essence. With the partial will He gave, with that part of His spirit, there are attributes of essence in people too. Yes.

shape and form are not meant. What is meant by "like" is: creating death and life, creating from nothing, being immortal, not needing His creations, being powerful over all His creations, being one who did not beget and was not begotten — that is, with Allah's attribute of divinity, (?), the state of having no like. Yes. That is what "like" is anyway. There is no such like. That is, in His essence (?) La ilahe illallah. It is not a matter of not resembling His essence. If we take the subject a bit deeper, we now say: These are all inner matters. Inner. Allah has an attribute of essence. People too have an attribute of essence.

Here a resemblance arises. This resemblance comes from Allah Almighty giving people of His spirit. Therefore the partial attribute is man. The universal attribute is Allah. For this reason, Allah's saying, "I am in accordance with My servant's opinion of Me; however he imagines Me, so I am," is because Allah Almighty constantly changes attributes.

Where do we understand this from? In the verse Allah Almighty says this: He saw him once more in his true form.

He who, He says, (?). So that true form is the form in which he appeared to us.

He saw him once more in his true form. (?) while descending (?). So apart from that, He constantly changes form. He changes form continually. Attributes change forms. Yes.

Allah Almighty does not stay in one particular attribute. In one particular attribute. Why not? If He did, people would imagine Allah according to their own fancies. "Allah Almighty goes in this attribute." Another: "in this attribute." Everyone who sees would make gods according to himself. Then it would turn into idolatry. Yes. In the end there would be idolatry.

For this reason He decrees: however they (?) Me, an opposite of that, and an opposite of that too. When Allah Almighty manifests in the human heart, various attributes also manifest. If we go deeper from here — since it is not possible for people suddenly to grasp a knowledge they don't know, it is beneficial that they (?) know this part only this far, we say. Of course, people cannot grasp all at once a knowledge they don't know. "Why, Hodja, don't I have a mind?" some say. You do, but say now someone has graduated as a doctor and never went into surgery; come and have that man operate on you.

He needs to have experience, to have knowledge. He needs to have a specialization in it. For example, a person graduates as a doctor, then starts specializing. He specializes for four years, five years. On the same (?). Well, now, just because I graduated as a doctor, go into surgery and operate on a person? Well, fine. You're a doctor, but you don't have that much knowledge. That knowledge — there is knowledge within knowledge. Such that your mind too can grasp it. But for it to grasp it, you need to advance in a certain field of knowledge. And you need to study. Yes.

Then, (?) to parents. Because these are people who, the children entrusted to them, without distinguishing night and day, tried to raise, to bring along; every mother and father wants their child to be a good person, but with their circumstances not being favorable, let the children, angry that their fathers cannot provide them the life they wanted, not hold back from kindness to them, because sustenance is with Allah. That is, some people say, my father never supported me, my father didn't do this for me, my father didn't do that for me. Your father brought you up to a certain age, didn't he; did his father support him, I wonder?

Yes, people can't use their reason.

Do not kill your children out of fear of poverty. Allah gives the sustenance of children and parents, of all creatures. Allah — put your trust in Allah. We say, put your trust in Allah. Yes.

"We are surety for the sustenance of every living being created in this whole universe," says Allah Almighty. "I will give that sustenance." Although we can't provide for a few people, Allah Almighty, in this universe, all His creations provides for. And without ever forgetting, every living being, even, under the microscope, those microbes we magnify thousands of times, or some cells we magnify hundreds of thousands of times — it is Allah who gives even their sustenance, never forgetting.

He is surety for everyone's sustenance, for His creations responsible. Responsible in their own weakness. In their weakness. Because Allah is merciful. If He created it, He will feed it. He takes its responsibility upon Himself. What does He say? (?) — it is Allah who gives sustenance, He says. He has taken their sustenance upon Himself. He has become their guarantor, because He created them. Where does that guarantorship come from? From His being very merciful. From His not holding them apart from His essence, not even the atom of atoms. Yes.

Do not approach indecencies, open or hidden, He says. Do not take secret friends.

Things like adultery, alcohol, gambling, the forbidden — do not resort to them. Do not unjustly take a life Allah has forbidden. These are what Allah has commanded people. so now people will think and understand.

That there is no deficiency in the laws Allah has laid down, that they give life to people, that the Creator, by informing His creations of their needs, holds a light before them — every person of sound mind understands and comprehends this.

So, so that they take a lesson from the truth, so that (?), so that they take a lesson, think, and find the right path. Yes.
