Translation

And when they are reminded of their Lord’s verses, they do not appear deaf and blind towards them.

Tafsir

When believers are reminded of the Verses of Allah, they immediately show an interest in them and want to judge by what they have learned. Those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter do not turn away when they hear the Verses of Allah, like those who disbelieve in Allah. However, the disbelieving unbelievers do not even want to hear the Verses. They block their ears against the Verses of Allah and go away deaf from the place where they are reminded of the Verses of Allah.

So when the believer judges by the Verses of Allah, his heart is filled with the light of Allah's faith. And Allah puts His light in the hearts of such people. The shadow of neither the East nor the West falls on that light. Such people go to the Hereafter with Allah's mercy. They will be welcomed in a good manner, and will be given what they desire in the heavens that Allah has promised them, and they will be placed in their resting places with contentment.

Verse 73 of Surah Al-Furqan: "When the verses of their Lord are recalled to them, they do not act deaf and blind toward them."

The verse came true today. At the place we went to, although we explained the truth to the professor, he has himself made four editions of the Quran, four editions — to defend those translations full of errors, despite hearing the truth, they turn their backs on the truth; people who are not with the truth; behind the label they take refuge, put the label forward, and behind it, with superstitions, claiming to explain the truth to people, outside Allah's verses, ascribing attributes to Allah, without fearing Allah, they write books for material gain — there, a verse of Allah Almighty, another verse of His, becomes manifest: "Those who sell My word for material gain." Yes.

Well. "When the verses of their Lord are recalled to them" — we did recall them. Your path is wrong. "From the loins of the children of Adam," it says, "He brought forth their offspring and made a covenant with them. 'Am I not your Lord?' He said," it says. The man writes the very same thing. We remind him.

We explain Elest-i Rabbiküm to him?

Look. A sound came from here, didn't it? A sound is coming from it. So: "When the verses of their Lord are recalled to them, toward them they do not act deaf and blind," it says. Who are they? Righteous people. Wherever he sees the truth, he says "saddak". Yes. To believers, in the believers series, to my mind (?) I read him the hadith of our mother Aisha. Our mother Aisha said to the Prophet, "I am jealous of Khadijah, because you mention her so much," she said. And I said, "This is not a hadith. They are believing women. They are our mothers. They are an example for Islam. There is no jealousy in them." "It's a hadith," he says, "Aisha," he says, "was jealous," he still says.

"She was jealous," he says. Yes. What will you explain to these people? And these men are teachers at the faculty of theology, professors. The man I talked to is at the theology faculty, the Konya theology faculty, a professor, a teacher. So I've spelled it out to you more.

The children he trains — what will become of them?

I ask you. What will become of the children such a man trains?

Yes. They are believers. Believers are those who have (?) their nafs for Allah, whose nafs has come to know the manifestations of Allah Almighty — such people. He doesn't even know what a believer is. He doesn't even know what a believer is. That's why now, from professors — when it comes to professors, now, in all of them too, when I see these conditions: so if our professors are in this state, we really are the children of a backward country.

How did I imagine a professor?

An educated person, an enlightened person, a person who uses his mind, one who can discern the good and the right, I thought he was a person who could weigh the right against the truth. And in everything they are far ahead of this — not far ahead, behind; hidden behind labels, people living their dark worlds.

I saw this clearly today. To the believers — when Allah's verses are recalled, these people at once show toward the verses interest and want to abide by what they learn; we remind them of these, and they turn their backs on it; how many verses become manifest like this! They do not, like those who believe neither in Allah nor the hereafter, like those who deny Allah, upon hearing Allah's verses, turn their backs and leave. Whereas the denying unbelievers do not even want to hear the verses. Blocking their ears to Allah's verses, as if deaf, they go away from where Allah's verses are recalled. In this case, when the believer abides by Allah's verses, his heart fills with Allah's light of faith.

And Allah puts His light into the hearts of such people.

In Surah An-Nur, the verse Allahu nûru's-semâvâti ve'l-ard, meselü nûrihî ke-mişkâtin fîhâ misbâh, el-misbâhu fî zücâceh, sadakallâh — that is: "We place Our light into the heart of My believing servant." This light, just like (?), from beside, it says, as if kindled, it says, circulates as if about to burn, it says. It circulates. Neither the shadow of the East nor the shadow of the West falls on this light, it says. What does this mean, the shadow of the East and the West? The sun rises in the East. He likened this to outward knowledge. Its shadow, it says. Outward knowledge. And in the West, falsehood. The sun sets there, after all; (?) the shadow of (?) falls, it says. How beautifully Allah Almighty puts it.

That light in his heart — when a person closes his eyes, you know the (?) children play with like this, inside it there are, you know, stars like this — you see millions of stars circulating. Even if no hand touches it, it is like a lamp kindled with olive oil, it says, (?). How beautifully He describes it. One who has not experienced it cannot know or describe it anyway.

Yes. In this case, when the believer abides by Allah's verses, his heart fills with Allah's light of faith. And Allah puts His light into the hearts of such people. That light on which falls the shadow of neither the East nor the West. Such people go to the hereafter having attained Allah's mercy. They are received beautifully. In the paradises Allah has promised, granted their wishes, they are settled with contentment in the places where they will rest.

Do not think, "I am everlasting in this world." Show me a single living being that has remained forever in this world.

"We return you to your first form of creation," He says. In the first sense, outwardly: A child is weak. When one grows old, one becomes weak too. "Some of you We let live until the most unproductive age," says Allah Almighty.

The second, true, essential meaning of this verse: "We return you to the first form of creation." The spirit is nafs and (?). He separates you from the flesh. When you face death, the spirit leaves the body. Where the spirit goes: the graveyard. Where the body goes: the graveyard. Where the spirit goes: the realm of barzakh. Then, when the earth becomes another earth and the sky another sky, in the world, it says, (?), without a way out, it says, when it is brought out flat into the open, (?) no shirking, it says. And when you come into My presence with a driver — I am the driver. That is, my spirit is the driver.

What am I driving? I am driving my car. This body is my car. But there, there is no entering the body. When the souls are paired, that is, when body and soul come face to face: "We will now seal your mouths, bind your feet, and make your hands speak," He says. The verses are explicit and clear. In this case, if a person hears the truth and turns his back on the truth, clings to the transient blessings of the world, as if he would take (?) with us, as if he would take it with us — holds on to it and turns his back on Allah, then such people end up in the hereafter like a bankrupt merchant.
