Translation

Allah has made you viceroys on earth. In terms of what Allah has given to you (provisions), some are superior by degrees to others. (And thus), you will be tested with each other. Indeed, your Lord is the One Whose punishment is swift, and Allah is Ghafoor (Most Forgiving) and Raheem (the One who very generously accepts repentance).

Tafsir

Allah (swt) created man close to Himself. With the soul He gave to man, He made him an interlocutor to Himself. He made him the caliph of the earth by giving his free will into his own hands. The literal meaning of khalifah is someone who looks after someone's place. If man is the caliph of the earth, each human being is a commander, Allah's deputy on earth. Therefore, if man does not know his value, forgets Allah and associates partners with Him, he will be degraded in the sight of Allah. If people take the beings that Allah has honored and placed at the disposal of human beings, and they take them into their hands and worship them, they are not only rebelling against Allah, but they are also choosing to go astray because of their hatred and hatred towards Allah.

In response to Allah's saying (in Kalu Bela), "I am your Lord", people made a covenant with Allah as to whether they knew Allah or not. Each and every human being has a degree with Allah. When they come to the realm of property, they will be tested with the bounties that Allah has bestowed upon them, with their wealth, property, children and lives on earth. Those who have made a good covenant with Allah are patient with trust in Allah and accept whatever comes from Allah. Those who make a bad covenant with Allah, because of their disbelief in Allah (swt), do not show patience with the calamities that come from Allah (swt), and go into rebellion. Each person bears witness to Allah in proportion to the covenant he or she has made with Allah in this way, and determines what he or she is and where he or she ranks by being tested with people.

Surely Allah is swift in punishment. Allah is the One who punishes people for their crimes in this world and the Hereafter. But if they repent, Allah is very merciful to His creatures and forgives them their sins.

What is said in the video

Verse 165 of Surah Al-An'am: He has made you vicegerents of the earth, it says. Look: vicegerent, vicegerent of the earth.

Among all the beings He created, because He gave man of His spirit, that man became the noblest of creatures. That is why — what is a vicegerent? One who looks after things in another's place. One who looks after things in another's place. So with partial will, man, by his own will, with the spirit Allah Almighty gave him, since He held him as one addressed by His Essence, leaving him free in his own freedom, making him a commander in his own right, He made that man the vicegerent of the earth and gave him dominion over the earth. And when He gave him this dominion, He made known how he is to use it through the rulings of the sharia.

Through the rulings of the sharia. So you cannot put a spirit into nature, into His creatures, into His plants, into His bee, His fly, His animals. But look, on websites those poor people put a spirit everywhere. Maybe they'll be ashamed and try to remove it after what we've explained. God willing they'll remove it. They'll turn to the truth. Yes. Poor people who think there is a spirit in everything.

And they set up a Muslim website for this. And you're going to help Islam. They're going to teach Muslims knowledge. You poor people who teach superstitions instead of knowledge. What do you know of the verses, that you would help people? Maybe teach an alif instead. Maybe teach some Arabic. Maybe explain the religion of Islam, how to pray, how to fast, explain those. Explain those, I mean. Don't go poking into places whose business you don't know.

He made you vicegerents of the earth. Regarding the blessings I gave you, through some of you being above others in degrees you are tested with one another. You are tested with one another. Surely your Lord is swift in punishment, and truly He is forgiving and merciful. Now here, I suspect this verse has been interpreted wrongly, it seems to me. Yes. Let's take a look at Surah Al-An'am too.

Surah Al-An'am,

165, the verse.

Yes.

Al-An'am, Al-Ma'idah. Let me look — Al-Ma'idah we're reading, I suppose.

Surah Al-An'am, 165. Yes.

Yes. We're coming to it.

I suspect it's a wrongly interpreted verse.

Yes, it has been wrongly (?) too, mind you. He who made you vicegerents of the earth, to test you in the blessings He gave you, it says. I understood anyway. I had written the right one there. To test you. Allah has no authority to test. Here they ascribe attributes to Allah. Allah tests no one. (?) with one another, He checks that we are human. That is, He checks. Otherwise, look what Allah says: to test you. That is, He doesn't know what we'll do. He's trying us. According to how He tries us He'll give us reward and sin. Or He'll evaluate us. That is, not reward and sin, but He'll evaluate. It is He who made some of you above others in degrees, look, it says.

And He has made us superior in degrees, too. That is, He has taken our will out of our hands. They have also denied the covenant in that covenanting, everyone's covenant with Allah Almighty. I'm not just saying it: in Surah Al-A'raf, which we'll read now, 72nd verse. Sir, they've removed that too. In that covenant (?) was not taken, He made us superior in degrees. That is, in the way He knows, by His will, Allah Almighty by His own will qualified us. Then why did we even come here? You've already done what you were going to do, then. Allah Almighty has done what He was going to do. So what need is there again?

But because we wished it with our own will, and because we saw Allah Almighty as being like ourselves — lest you say, You what kind of human — if You had sent me to a world, look, how I would have worshipped You there. Now, sir, Surah Ta-Ha, 134th verse — look what it says. Yes. Let's look at Surah Ta-Ha. Verse 134.

134. The verse.

If before this, that is, before the Qur'an, We had destroyed them with a punishment, without sending the Qur'an, that is, before We made (?) known to them in the world, if We had destroyed them, He says, they would surely have said: O Lord, if only You had sent us a messenger, so that before falling into this (?) and disgrace we had followed Your verses.

And in yet another verse:

if You had sent us to the unseen world and made Your Essence known, we would have worshipped You there. In this case Allah Almighty created these worlds. So if man, by his own wish, had what he took and wanted written as his destiny, in that case, the One who made you vicegerents of the earth, who, to test you in the blessings He gave you, made some of you above others in degrees, is He, it says. Surely your Lord is swift in punishment, and truly He is forgiving and merciful. Now, does this fit?

Does this fit? Look: to test you, it is He who made some of you above others in degrees. If He made them superior, if He is the one who made them superior in degrees, if it is Allah, surely your Lord is swift in punishment, and truly He is forgiving and merciful. If He's swift to punish, if You created me superior or inferior to others, what do You want from me? But now look at the verse: He made you vicegerents of the earth. Yes, regarding the blessings He gave you, some of you, in terms of degrees, are above others. Some of you above others in degrees, by reason of the covenant you gave to Allah.

In that case you are tested with one another. With one another. Surely your Lord is swift in punishment, and truly He is forgiving and merciful. Yes. That is, man will do it himself. And the superstitions of poor people who cannot grasp this reach our ears. Our ears. What do they say? Allah has pinned it all on man, they say. Where are you going to pin it, you poor man? He's pinned it all on man. Look. It's so ignorant. Now how would it be nice to say it to these? Of course Allah will (?). Allah is surely Ghafur and Rahim. Of course Ghafur and Rahim. Allah, let me tell you, sir, will do this to the disbelievers.

Allah will bring the Muslim too, and place him where rivers flow beneath. Sir, the Muslims will cross the Sirat Bridge quickly. Sir, the animals you rode will carry you across the Sirat Bridge. All superstition, these, mind you. In fact there is no such thing. Because Allah Almighty says in the verse: of the animals you sacrifice, neither their flesh nor their blood, He says, reaches Allah. That flesh, He says, only reaches the ancient house, the ancient house. The House of Allah in the world, that is, the people there will eat it. Your worship reaches Allah, He says. Now if I told such superstitious words to those unaware of the verse, I'd become a (?) scholar.

Yes.

He made you vicegerents of the earth. Regarding the blessings He gave you, through some, some of you being above others in degrees, you are tested with one another. Surely your Lord is swift in punishment, and truly He is forgiving and merciful, it says. We will both explain, and sift out the errors, sift out the verses, and also with subconscious awareness we will very beautifully grasp the verses. When superstitions are told, the verses we need will come up for us, and we'll understand that they are superstition. Allah Almighty created man close to His Essence. Yes. That is what creating a vicegerent is.

A vicegerent, one who looks after things in another's place,

a person; since He gave of His spirit, there is never any (?) in Allah's word. (?) for man, the vicegerent on earth of what He created, He created the world, gave it, put it at his command. With the spirit He gave man, He held man as one addressed by His Essence. Giving his partial will in his own place, He made him the vicegerent of the earth. How beautifully we're explaining it all, sentence by sentence.

The dictionary meaning of vicegerent is one who looks after things in another's place. If man is the vicegerent of the earth, every single person is a commander. He is Allah's deputy on earth. Yes. Man is born free. With his free thought — perhaps they put chains on his body. Perhaps they enslave his body. Perhaps they use him as a slave. But they cannot chain thought. They cannot chain his brain. Yes.

If man is the vicegerent of the earth, every single person is a commander, Allah's deputy on earth. In this respect, if man does not know his worth, forgets Allah, associates partners with Him, he falls low in Allah's sight; if the beings that Allah made honourable and put at people's command, the beings, people (?) with their own hands, come under their command and worship them, then besides their rebelling against Allah, out of their grudge and hatred towards Allah they will have chosen misguidance. Misguidance.

Yes.

Allah Almighty's address, 'Your Lord am I' — in response, people made a covenant with Allah as to knowing or not knowing Allah. They made a covenant with Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty put no pressure on them either. He left them free in their own will. Yes. So every person has a degree in Allah's sight; every person, as a result of his covenant — how much love and affection they had for Allah Almighty, how hesitant, how much denying Allah — when our Lord says, I know the secrets of those hearts, knowing those feelings of theirs, He places those characters in them. So people's degrees in knowing or not knowing Allah Almighty, their being above one another by their own wishes and wants, comes about.

It wasn't Allah who made them superior. Yes, Allah wished that all He created would know their Lord, and that hell would be done away with. Yes. I suppose these parts are understood. Ender, I suppose it's understood. Allah Almighty (?): in response to the address 'Your Lord am I', people, as to knowing or not knowing Allah, made a covenant with Allah. So every person has a degree in Allah's sight. When they come to the realm of dominion, with the blessings Allah gave them, (?) with their goods, property, children and lives, they are tested with one another. We sometimes test you in your wealth, sometimes in your lives, He says.

Those who gave a good covenant to Allah are patient with trust in Allah and are content with what comes from Allah. Those who gave a bad covenant to Allah, because they deny Allah Almighty, cannot show patience toward the afflictions from Allah and turn to rebellion. In this way each person, in proportion to the covenant he gave Allah, holds himself as witness to Allah. And what he is, where his degree lies, he again determines by being tested with people. Surely Allah is swift in punishment. In this world and the hereafter Allah Almighty is the one who gives people their punishment for their crimes.

But if they regret and repent, since Allah is very merciful to His creatures, He forgives them their sins.
