When Our punishment came upon them, their screams consisted of nothing but saying; “Woe (to us), We truly were oppressors.”
Tafsir
When they suffer the torment of Allah in the Hereafter for their denying Allah and associating partners with Him, the cries and regrets of those who taste the torment will not benefit them. Their confessing their guilt with cries of pain and anguish (saying: "We were wrongdoers") will not save them from the torment.
People who do not believe in Allah and His Messenger have thus disappeared from the face of the earth as an example to mankind. They will also suffer eternal torment in the Hereafter.
Allah (swt) informs people of these events through the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) by giving them proofs of His existence and that the end of those who do not believe in Allah (swt) will not be different from these events. However, since the Holy Prophet, who came as a mercy to the worlds, is alive among us, Allah will not give another destruction for the sake of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), He will invite those who turn their backs on Allah (swt) to Himself by giving them a few calamities every year, and will enlighten them with the Holy Qur'an. But every soul will still live its covenant.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, verse 5 is where we stopped. When Our punishment came upon them, it says, their cry was nothing but 'We were truly wrongdoers,' it says. 'Was nothing,' it says. Not 'was nothing', but 'will be nothing'. 'Was nothing' means as if that realm had already been lived and they had been called to account, the Last Day had come, the Supreme Court had been set up; when they see the punishment, what do they say? It was nothing but their saying: we were wrongdoing, wrongdoing people. So the sentence does not hold together; but 'when Our punishment came upon them', it says. 'When it comes' — so it has not come yet.
When it comes, their cry was nothing but 'we were truly wrongdoing people' — when it says 'was nothing', that future and the tense of what happens do not match anyway.
It will be nothing but their saying 'we were wrongdoing people', it says. That is, when they are called to account, those wrongdoers — 'we were wrongdoing people' — nothing but their saying that, nothing but their saying it will be. Our punishment — that is, Surah Al-A'raf, verse 5: when Our punishment came upon them, their cry was nothing but 'we were truly wrongdoing people', it says. Will be nothing. We are writing that in there. Because they denied Allah and associated partners with Allah — who are these? Non-Muslims. Among all of them are the polytheists. Yes. So, because they denied Allah and associated partners with Allah, when they became subject to Allah's punishment in the worldly realm, the cries and regrets of those who tasted the punishment brought them no benefit.
Yes.
Here a wording slip has occurred. We can correct that now too. What do we say? Because they denied Allah and associated partners with Allah, when they became subject to Allah's punishment in the worldly realm, we wrote. Not in the worldly realm, but in the hereafter. We will say: when they became subject to Allah's punishment. Here we will say not 'worldly realm' but 'in the hereafter'. That was written wrongly. Yes. When they become subject to it in the hereafter, the cries and regrets of those who taste the punishment will bring them no benefit. With the screams they let out amid pains and torments, their confessing their crimes, their saying 'we were truly wrongdoing people', will be of no use to them.
Why will it be of no use to them? Hodja, is Allah unjust? I mean, He says 'I am the owner of mercy', Allah Almighty. Yes. In that case, why, toward such cries of theirs, does Allah Almighty remain unmoved? Why? Because look what Allah Almighty says about them. They are lying disbelievers. Liars. Because they denied Allah Almighty in their time. The words they say falsely to escape that punishment — Allah Almighty's word, word for word, for He always speaks the truth, we listen to wholeheartedly. What does Allah Almighty say? They are lying disbelievers. If He says lying disbelievers, then they are lying disbelievers. Because in their time they betrayed Me too.
That is, he did not know the Lord who created him. He rebelled against Him. He waited for the Lord of his own imagination. In that case his (?) wish was written for him as his destiny. Since a person cannot change within this destiny, their cries like this are nothing but deceiving themselves. Even now, it says, he could not recognize the Lord before him. He thought he would deceive his Lord. If We, it says, put them with those characters into the highest Paradise, the highest Paradise too they would set out to corrupt, it says. They would set out to corrupt the highest Paradise too. That is why their place is the Fire.
Only the Fire stops their rebelliousness. Yes.
So people who did not believe in Allah and His prophet were thus, on earth, as a lesson and example for people, wiped out. Those people who wronged themselves became subject on earth too to Allah's destruction. Moreover, in the hereafter they will become subject to a (?) punishment. Allah Almighty, through these events, shows people proofs of His existence, and that the end of those who do not believe in Allah will be no different from these, even (?) the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), He makes known. However, since the Prophet, who came as a mercy to the worlds, is (?) among us, Allah Almighty, for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), since He will not send destruction again, to those who turn their backs on Allah will send a few calamities a year, invite them to Himself, and with the Holy Quran hold a light before them.
But every soul will still live out its covenant. It cannot step outside its covenant. That is its destiny. It will desire that wish. Allah Almighty will create (?) in proportion to their wishes. Within those (?), through their own deeds, they will earn reward and commit sin. So, by the verse 'Did you think you would (?) without proving what kind of person you are?', people will prove themselves in this world, and tomorrow at the Supreme Court, before Allah Almighty, they will not be able to raise any question or query against Allah Almighty. So, Abdülkadir (?), part of the question our son Abdülkadir asked is also here.
Yes.
