Verily, We have placed you on earth and We have given to you ways of sustenance there. How little you show gratitude!
Tafsir
Allah (swt) has sent people to the realm of property, where they will be witnesses to themselves, the world around them and Allah (swt), without seeing their Lord in the realm of property, as He made a covenant in a realm of the unseen (Kalu Bela) where His Essence was veiled. As we have explained in previous lessons (so that you would not say, "O Allah, if you had sent me to a realm where your Essence was invisible, look how I would have worshipped you.") Allah created this realm of property. He has sent human beings to the realm of property to be witnesses to themselves and to Allah, as performers of His covenant. Their covenants in the Hereafter are closed to them.
In order that man may bear witness to Allah, Allah has placed in the world of property all the means of livelihood to sustain man's life. He has equipped the earth with gold mines, food, riding animals, underground and above-ground riches and placed them at man's disposal. He has also made man the caliph of the earth. Unfortunately, man has forgotten the purpose for which he was created and has turned his back on Allah, bowing down to this transitory and trustworthy, vile and lowly world.
Allah wants to awaken people from sleep with His Verses to bring them to their senses, to bring them to their senses. Therefore, since even those who wake up from sleep are incapable of giving thanks for the blessings of Allah, and since people are among the forgetful, they are selfish towards the blessings of Allah, they are not grateful for the blessings of Allah, how little do you give thanks for the blessings of Allah.
What is said in the video
Indeed, We have settled you on the earth and given you means of livelihood there. He does send us to the earth, though. And what all He puts at our command. Means of livelihood, those substances coming out of the soil, gold, silver, iron. I'm telling you, its rubies, its corals, its sea, its animals, its plants, its trees, its fruits, He has put at our command. Allah Almighty. You... Elhamdülillah, Yerhamükellah, Yehdînallah ve yehdîkümullah So He did not bring you and leave you in a bare (?). Yes. Indeed, We have settled you on the earth and given you means of livelihood there. How little you give thanks, it says.
How little.
Of course, if a person, a person thinks about it, these blessings that Allah Almighty has given, these blessings, he cannot possibly deny them. For example, what does it say in Surah Ar-Rahman, look how many things there are: He is the Lord of the two easts and the two wests, and that too comes out from here. Here, look what they have written. Let me show you what it says.
Can you read it? Small print. Small print. Look what it says. Because the places of rising and setting change according to the summer and winter seasons, the expression two easts and two wests was used, it says. Now, is there knowledge in these? Is there knowledge in these? Do those who wrote this have knowledge? I'm asking now. When it says the Lord of the two easts and the two wests, Allah — the outer and the inner, that is, the Owner of the essential worlds, it says. If this world is the likeness and shadow of the hereafter, if the Hour comes here and we pass into the inner world, the world of the hereafter, if a thousand years here are like one day of the hereafter, my good man, He is the Owner both of the easts and wests of the outer world and the Owner of the easts and wests of the inner world.
Where here has the sun risen from (?) and gone a little further, and that became two easts? Now I'm asking you, is this knowledge? There, they've written it. They've written it. At least don't write what you don't know, just pass over it. Pass over it. And don't mislead people. Yes. What was it? Hüve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru, He is the First and the Last. Ve'z-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın, He is the Owner of the outer world and the inner worlds. So, if the Hour is to come and we are to pass into the world of the hereafter, if this world is the hereafter's likeness and shadow, I'm quoting these verses, likeness and shadow, if a thousand years here are like one day of the hereafter, then if He is the Owner of their easts and wests, then of the world of the hereafter too He is the Owner of the easts and wests.
There it is: the Owner of the two easts and two wests. Yes.
Now let's leave (?) there. There is a lot to be said. Let's leave it there. Let's come to the noble verse. Which of Allah's blessings do you deny? How (?) people reflect, it says. What does it say? Then which of your Lord's blessings can you deny? He has let loose the two seas to meet each other. Between them is a barrier, and they do not cross into each other and mix. Then which of your Lord's blessings can you deny? From both of them come pearls and coral. Now which of your Lord's blessings can you deny? His too are the ships rising on the sea like lofty mountains. So which of your Lord's blessings can you deny?
It counts them here, it counts them. So Allah Almighty, who gave you so many blessings, how can you be ungrateful to Him? How can you not give thanks even once? You eat and drink what He gave with relish, you roam about following your carnal desires, and you don't even thank your Lord once? Yes.
Man is truly very ungrateful. Yes.
Allah Almighty sent people to a (?) world in which His essence, His essence is veiled. With the covenant given at Qalu Bala, man, without seeing his Lord in the world of mulk, He has sent into the world of mulk, where He would make him a witness to himself, to his surroundings and to Allah. As we also explained in earlier lessons: "My Allah, You were going to send me to a world (?) of Your essence, how would I have worshipped (?)" — so that you would not say this, Allah created this world of mulk. So that people would hold themselves and Allah as witnesses, He sent them, as (?) of the covenant they gave, into the world of mulk.
The covenants they gave in the world of the hereafter have been closed off to them. So that man can hold himself as witness to Allah, Allah in the world of mulk, sustaining man's life, has placed every kind of means of livelihood. With gold mines, foods, riding animals, with the riches under and on the earth He has adorned the world and put it at man's command. And He has made man the vicegerent on earth. Sadly, man has forgotten the purpose of his creation, inclined toward the world, and, only submitting to this temporary, entrusted, loathsome and lowly world, has turned his back on Allah. Yes.
Loathsome, brother, I mean. A vile world. If it's vile, what business do you have with it? If it's vile. We came to a (?) place. There we will eat and drink, but we will not look at this vileness. With the blessings offered to us by our Lord's command, we will provide for this body He gave us. But we will not look at this vileness. Why do you call it vile? Why do I call it vile? On the Day of Judgment, it says, the world will put on its finest garments and say, give me to the least (?). Allah Almighty will say: that small one you speak of, when (?) the world, did not value you, so would I now give you to him? He will say.
Like an old rag, He will throw the world into hell. Yes. That's why it is a loathsome and vile place. If you incline toward it: a person is gathered with what he loves. If you love it, you will be gathered with it. It goes there, and you go there too. Yes. So Allah, to bring people to themselves, to bring them to their senses, wants to wake people from sleep with His verses. Therefore, since even those who wake from sleep are unable to fulfill the pleasure of thanks for these blessings Allah has given, and since people, joining the group of the forgetful, behave carnally toward these blessings Allah has given, since in return for the blessings He gave the pleasure of their thanks is little, "How little you give thanks," He decrees. How little you give thanks, it says.
Yes.
