Allah said; “What keeps you from prostrating while I ordered you to do so?” (Iblees) Satan said: “I am superior to him. Because You have created me from fire, but You created him from clay.”
Tafsir
Iblis' pride and grandeur, his love of self, led him to rebel against Allah's commands. The angelic master of the angels became so arrogant that he could not prostrate to Adam. Allah said, "What prevents you from prostrating when I commanded you to do so? Iblis said, "I am superior to him, for You created me out of fire and him out of clay.") Iblis' reply to Allah (swt) in this way was his first attempt to play the game of logic, thinking that he would confuse Allah (swt). However, this was a part of the program prepared for the purpose of the creation of this whole world. It is known to Allah who among the beings created in the worlds will do and say what. When Allah (swt) began to create as a result of the program He had prepared, the creatures began to play within the program of Allah (swt) so that everyone could reach torment and mercy with their own will, with their own volition, in proportion to their own will.
Unaware of this, he rebelled against Allah, saying, 'You created me out of fire and Adam out of clay, and I am superior to him. However, Allah did not make Adam prostrate to the clay without giving him a soul. As Allah (swt) will inform us in the following verses, according to this verse, prostration to Adam was prostration to Allah. Mel didn't realize that.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, verse 12, the noble verse. Allah said. To whom did He say it? He said to (?): when I commanded you, what prevented you from prostrating? Your Owner,
my Owner, if my Lord were to say to me,
obey the ant, the ant, I would obey it.
My Lord knows something, that's why He said it.
If He said obey the ant, I would obey the ant. But, what does Allah Almighty decree? We created man honored above the worlds, He says. So the man He created honored, to no human He created, to nothing else He created, in any way, under its command does He give him.
(?), what am I saying? The man He created honored, created honored above the worlds, whatever He created other than man, even if it is something sublime, He does not put man under its command. Because Allah has the attribute of justice. He does no injustice. Why does He not? Because Allah Almighty has a part in that man, His spirit. Since none of the other created beings has this spirit, in this case Allah Almighty, man, any being He created other than man, any being, He does not put man under its command. In this case, with what mind do people say Gabriel taught the Prophet? With what mind? Can you understand how strange a mindset they are in?
Proud of knowing Arabic (?). And those who say that someone who doesn't know Arabic doesn't understand the Quran and push them out of the religion. Now, out of the nafs of man, out of pride and arrogance, over knowing a language he has, humbly put, that man's pride and arrogance: how is it different from Satan?
Just as that pride and arrogance blinded Satan's eyes and kept him from seeing the truth, so for these, their pride and arrogance have kept them from seeing the Quran's verses. What does Allah Almighty say in His noble verse: when We send a prophet to a people, We send him in that people's language, it says. It does not say We send him in Arabic. With what was he sent? He was sent in that people's language. So if Allah Almighty, those who are that people's orators, that people's eloquent and fine speakers, raises with His essence and His knowledge, and in the language that people will understand has His essence explained in the finest way with the meaning of the verses, then here, if I spoke Arabic to you, would you be able to understand?
Come on, the honored hafizes recite the Quran. Can you understand anything? But look, when we explain the verses, you understand. Well, shall we not listen to the hafizes? No, you will listen. You will read the Quran. Even if I don't understand. But understanding its meaning too is something else, of course. I mean, what is Allah Almighty saying in His noble verse? Understanding this is something else. It opens one's insight, it broadens one's horizon. Yes.
Allah said: when I commanded you, what prevented you from prostrating? Iblis: I am better than him. Now look. Iblis. I am better than him. Because You created me from fire. You created him from clay, he said. He proves here how ignorant he is. Allah Almighty says so in His noble verse anyway. To My servant who knows Me, Iblis's, it says, the temptation the accursed one gives is ignorant, it says. Yes. It becomes clear how ignorant he is. If Iblis had (?) the attribute of Allah Almighty's divinity, if he had known that with His majesty He is flawless and free of all deficient attributes, as I said just now, if He said to me obey the ant, I would obey the ant; when He says it, it means there is a wisdom of His in it. Because He is my Lord.
He doesn't say anything in vain, I would say, I would say. And I would have obeyed Allah. Not the ant. So if the accursed one too had known Allah's majesty and power, if he had known that He is the Owner of wisdom, if he had known, that accursed one would not have opposed Allah's command. So, how much pride and arrogance blinded his eyes, and in this case he was unable to know Allah. And he rebelled against Allah's word, His command.
Iblis's pride and grandeur, Iblis's pride and grandeur, his passion for ego. You see, why do we say passion for ego?
Iblis had worshipped a great deal.
On earth, he says, there is not a span of soil on which my forehead has not touched in prostration to the Rahman, he says. In this case he takes the attribute Haris, meaning a miser of worship. Haris. And the angels envy him. To Allah Almighty they say: what kind of servant is this, we want to see him. Then he rises to being the teacher of the angels. When his people ran wild in the world, Allah Almighty, with the angels, the destruction of his people commands. After his people on earth were destroyed, when he again rose to be the angels' teacher, "if Allah did not exist, I would act as god," he says.
Yes. He goes that far. From pride and arrogance, from ego. This is the ego.
The passion for ego led him (?) against Allah's commands. The accursed one, teacher of the angels, thus grew arrogant and did not prostrate to Adam. Allah said: when I commanded you, what prevented you from prostrating? Iblis: I am better than him. Because You created me from fire and him from clay, he said. Iblis answering Allah Almighty in this way means that, playing the first logic game, he thought he would confound Allah. That is, He too would agree with him. Yes, I created you from fire. And him I created from clay. Of course you are superior. You're right here, He would say. Whereas he was unaware that Allah Almighty, earlier, before Adam was even created, had created their souls.
The angels too were unaware. How do we know? I will create a human, He says. Will You create a being that will shed blood on earth, they say to Allah Almighty. Why do they say this? Because they slaughtered Iblis's people. And Allah Almighty says: you do not know what I know. Because they are unaware that our souls were created earlier, that as a part of His essence He made a covenant with us, and that He raised them to the barzakh. That they are unaware we also prove from this. When Allah Almighty willed His essence to be known, the light of the Prophet He creates. Then He gives it of His spirit.
Since He created the universe from his light, since the angels too were created from his light, that they were unaware of this, from their saying "will You create a human on earth, will You create a human who will shed blood?", we understand. They are unaware.
Of being created from the light of the one who would come as mercy to the worlds, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), our master, they are unaware too. Yes, so man, man was created honored above the worlds. How beautifully the verses always support one another. No being has been created more honored than man. So, man's opposing Allah's command like the accursed one, man, like the four-legged that roam the earth, even (?), Allah Almighty; how ungrateful man is and how rebellious against Allah Almighty becomes clear. In this case Allah Almighty too: man, whom He created the most honored above the worlds, surely a word has come forth from Us.
What is it? Paradise and hell. So the man He created this honored, He left free in his own will, as the most honored of all His creations, this man He wanted to see in His essence; by rebelling against Allah like the accursed one, the face of eternal torment people who buy it for themselves. Can the roots of these be called roots? Can what they do be envied? And Allah Almighty says: whoever envies them is like them. What beautiful verses. They always support what is known. That is, they too enter the class of those deniers. They enter the class of (?). And they too become part of that (?).
Just as the accursed one was cursed. Because he opposed His command. Because he opposed Allah Almighty's command. Yes.
Whereas all these were a part of the purpose in this world's creation, of the program that had been prepared.
Who among the beings created in the worlds will do what, and what they will say, is known in Allah's sight. Allah Almighty knows who will do what, who will say what. How does He know? He knows from their covenants. From the beings He created being (?), He knows. What does He say to us too? What is in your hearts that you need and do not know, what is in the remotest corner of your heart, We know, He says. We know the secrets of hearts, He says. Yes. There is no escape. And in His noble verse too: until the Day of Judgment there is not a single living being to come of which We do not know what it will not do, He says.
Yes.
As a result of the program Allah Almighty prepared, when He began to create, everyone, in proportion to their own wish, with their partial will, by their own wish reaching punishment or mercy: within Allah Almighty's program the created ones began to play this out. Within these worlds Allah Almighty created. He programmed the deeds they would do, and accordingly these people, when they come to earth, start to play the script there. If we open this up once more, read it once more, what do we say?
As a result of the program Allah Almighty prepared: what did He prepare? Since He knew what people, these beings He created, would do, He programmed the worlds accordingly. Yes, as a result of the program Allah Almighty prepared, when He began to create, everyone, in proportion to their own wish, with their partial will, by their own wish, punishment and mercy reaching, by their own wish, for Allah Almighty does not put whomever He wishes into hell, whomever He wishes into paradise. Whoever wishes will go to hell, and whoever wishes will go to paradise. Because those who do not fulfill Allah Almighty's command, just as Iblis was cursed, they too will go to hell.
Did Allah Almighty lead Iblis astray? Iblis went astray by his own rebellion. He opposed Allah. Well, don't people too oppose Allah's command by their own wish? What is the difference from Iblis here?
They are on the same road. Yes, then let's read it once more. As a result of the program Allah Almighty prepared, when He began to create, everyone, in proportion to their own wish, with partial will, by their own wish, punishment and mercy reaching: within Allah Almighty's program the created ones began to play. Within Allah Almighty's program the created ones began to play. Let's put a letter İ here. A letter İ is missing here.
Yes.
So the accursed one, unaware of this, saying "You created me from fire, Adam from clay; I am better than him", became rebellious against Allah. Yes. Thank you. (?) bring one more. Because it's doing something to my voice. It affects it, yes.
So the accursed one, unaware of this, saying "You created me from fire, Adam from clay, I am better than him", became rebellious against Allah. Whereas Allah, without giving Adam (peace be upon him) the soul, to the mud did not have them prostrate. Yes, as in the verses ahead Allah Almighty will make known: after We gave Adam the soul, We said prostrate. Yes, after We gave Adam Our spirit, now prostrate, We said, He says. So according to this noble verse, the prostration to Adam was a prostration to Allah; the accursed one could not grasp this.
