Al-A'raf 23: (Adam and his wife) said; “Oh our Dear Lord! We have committed oppression against ourselves. If You do not forgive us and show pity to us, we will surely be among the ruined.”

Translation

(Adam and his wife) said; “Oh our Dear Lord! We have committed oppression against ourselves. If You do not forgive us and show pity to us, we will surely be among the ruined.”

Tafsir

Adam 'alaihis-salâm' and our mother Eve realized the crime they had committed and immediately made repentance to Allah. The deception of Hadrat Adam and our mother Eve was because they believed that they could not swear by Allah and their love for Allah was great. The fact that Adam and Eve said, 'Our Lord, if you do not have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers' shows that Allah's forgiveness is abundant. It is not in Allah's honor not to forgive those who ask for forgiveness. In fact, since these events are a part of the program, the forgiveness of Hazrat Adam and Mother Eve is an example to people.

The traps that Shaytan has set for people and the oppression of their own souls will not benefit them in the Hereafter. Accordingly, every human being should know their friends and enemies. They should take their place on the side of friends. Otherwise, both in this world and in the Hereafter, one cannot save oneself from becoming the mascot of Satan.

What is said in the video

Adam and his wife said: O our Lord, we have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers, he said. Yes, above it they all pray like this anyway. Would Allah not forgive? Adam (peace be upon him) and our mother Eve realised the sin they had committed. That is, they understood that they had gone against Allah Almighty. And they realised that what Allah Almighty said was the truth. That is, when He said: he is your enemy, they realised that an enemy cannot be trusted. An enemy cannot be trusted. If he gets the chance, he will crush you. Your enemy may look nice to you, may look good too.

Just like the accursed one. He even swears oaths. But you must not trust your enemy.

At once they turned to Allah in repentance and asked forgiveness. Adam and our mother Eve being deceived, since they believed no one would swear in Allah's name, came from the greatness of their love for Allah. Yes, Adam and our mother Eve saying: if our Lord has no mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers — Allah's pardon, the abundance of Allah's pardon and forgiveness it shows. It does not befit Allah's majesty not to forgive one who asks Him for pardon. In fact, since these events are a part of the program, Adam and our mother Eve's asking forgiveness should be made known to people as a lesson too.

It is being made known. So, Satan's traps set for people, people wronging their own selves through them, in the world of the hereafter will bring them no benefit. Accordingly, every person must know his friend and his enemy. They must take their place beside their friends. Otherwise, both in this world and in the hereafter, a person cannot save himself from becoming Satan's laughing-stock.
