Tafsir
The gates of heaven will not be opened to those who rebel against Allah, those who carry arrogance and greatness in their own souls against Allah, those who do not like the Verses of Allah, those who call themselves outdated and reactionary. The gates of heaven mean the gates of paradise. People will pass through the side of hell and gather at a place called Arasat. A'râf, the name of the Surah, describes this place. The gates of Paradise must be opened for the people gathered in the Arasat so that they can enter Paradise.
Allah, who created the worlds in a program, has programmed these doors for people. When the people who will enter through these gates match the frequencies emitted by the people and the frequency of the receiver of the gates, the gate will open to these people. To give an example: If you have an alarm system installed in a car, you open and close the car with this alarm system with the remote control in your hand. Another remote control cannot open and close this door. Because the remote control in his hand is not compatible with the car's receiver remote control, the car doors will not open.
In the previous Verses, we have written that human beings and all creation emit a signal and that Allah is the all-consuming receiver and is instantly aware of their desires and wishes, as well as their movements.
Allah, who has programmed the worlds from before, knows what will happen, so He has created everything in order and has programmed them completely. When Allah says that the gates of heaven will not open for them, Allah, who made a covenant with human beings in the past, knows what human beings will do, so these gates are programmed only for those who will enter Paradise, and no one else can enter.
(They will not enter Paradise until the camel enters through the eye of a needle.) Although there are those who argue that the word jamar in the verse is not in accordance with the literary description in the Qur'an, and that there is no relation between the camel and the eye of a needle, based on the illegitimate way it is translated, they prefer the meaning of thick rope, i.e. halat, in other translations of the word. However, the meaning of camel was preferred in view of the wording of the people.
Accordingly, whether it is a camel passing through the eye of a needle or a thick rope passing through the eye of a needle, Allah (swt) declares that they will not be able to enter Paradise and will not see Paradise forever.
When Allah says, "This is how We punish the guilty", Allah, who never stops bringing all kinds of similes to people, says in another Ayat-i Kerime, "He never stops bringing similes with mosquitoes and bigger ones", according to His Ayat-i Kerime, Allah, who gives all kinds of examples in a way that every human mind can understand, If people still turn their backs on Allah (swt), who makes His presence felt among people and guides them, out of their arrogance and pride, and if they choose to go astray by denying the Verses of Allah (swt), these people who think themselves irresponsible and free will realize the truth at the moment of death and at the end of the Surah given to them, but they will never escape these punishments. People appear to be free and irresponsible in this world, but if only they could realize their responsibilities towards Allah (swt).
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 40 of Surah Al-A'raf. Those who deny Our verses and want to be arrogant towards them, it says, be arrogant. Those who deny the verses and are arrogant.
The gates of heaven will not be opened for them, the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, and they will not enter Paradise until a camel passes through the eye of a needle, it says. Thus do We punish the guilty, it says. Does a camel ever pass through the eye of a needle? (?) eternal life in Hell. The gates of heaven will not be opened, it says. That is, Allah Almighty will never let His mercy reach them. And there, it says, they are without anyone and alone. Where? At that address of Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, those who gave Allah a bad pledge – at that supreme tribunal, in the presence of our Lord – what does Allah Almighty say in His verse?
My mercy is for everyone in the universe; in the hereafter only for the believer. With the attribute Rahman, in the hereafter – in this world, to all His creatures He extends His mercy. Whether Muslim or non-Muslim. So that they show by their qualities what kind of people they are, He gives them their provision. But in the hereafter only to the believer. With the attribute Rahim. Yes. There, from the attribute Rahim – when that attribute Rahman is lifted from them, they are there without anyone and alone, it says.
Those who deny Our verses and want to be arrogant towards them, it says, be arrogant. This is for non-Muslims – "those who deny", it says. Well, what shall we say of those who do not deny but are arrogant? The Muslim does not deny. Well, the Muslim too – the (?) of the worldly realm, the life of the world looking rosy to him, and in this swamp of the world the zaqqum that blooms, which he, as he pleases, takes for a cure for himself, whereas it grows at the bottom of Hell, and as they eat, it says, as they hunger, their bowels will boil (?) – this fruit, it says, of this tree We will feed them its fruit, it says.
Those who take that zaqqum, too, for a rosebud blooming in their own heart, these poor people are Muslims, Muslims. If she uncovers her hair and head, if, her hair down to her skirts, (?) she goes about naked, if, when these are told the truth, they get distressed, if, when we say "selamün aleyküm" to people, one says "don't say that to me" – a Muslim, but a Muslim: don't say selamün aleyküm to me. Say "merhaba". What is "merhaba"? Even an unbeliever says merhaba. Its meaning is this: with me you are free in your conduct and actions as you wish, it says. That is the meaning of merhaba. But the meaning of selamün aleyküm is very different.
What do we say? We pray for him. We say: may Allah's mercy be upon you. And (?) says this: Don't say that to me. As I was at seven, so I am at seventy. You're not going to change me, they say. True. No one can change anyone's destiny. So what shall we say to this Muslim?
Such people.
People's hearts truly ache for such people.
Yes. The gates of heaven will not be opened for them, and until a camel enters the eye of a needle they will not enter Paradise. Thus do We punish the guilty, it says. Those who rebel against Allah, who carry arrogance and haughtiness in their souls against Allah, who, deeming themselves superior, disdain Allah's verses, who say "outdated" and "reactionism" – the gates of heaven will not be opened for them. Today we see the state of those who say "reactionism". Presenting reactionism to people – the religion of Islam, presenting the religion of Islam to people as reactionism, so that, in their own positions, they can keep up their own reign, so as to satisfy their own (?), belittling Allah's verses, seeing the religion of Islam as reactionism – people.
Those who say "Ahmet, Mehmet" and dislike these, these names, who oppress them, and that word "reactionism" pleases people like themselves, and they say "look how nicely these talk", and with words pleasing to their own nafs – people who follow the footsteps of Satan.
Today what everyone does is laid bare before our eyes, and within this homeland what intrigues these people have plotted is openly shown to people. No one can force anyone in their religion. In their religion. Nor can anyone belittle anyone, saying why do you follow that religion. Why? Everyone has a destiny; they will live it. But saying "I am a Muslim" and appearing as a Muslim, a very bitter word I can't even say anyway.
Joining the Masonic organization and weeping at the Wailing Wall – those who weep there are hypocrites themselves; such people today are giving account before Allah's justice. yes
the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, and until a camel passes through the eye of a needle they will not enter Paradise. That is, a word has gone forth from Us, it says: Paradise and Hell. Both are eternal. That non-Muslims are in eternal life in Hell, and that Muslims too stay in Hell as long as their punishment lasts and then, once their faith is perfected, will enter Paradise – our Lord declares this to us with His verses. Yes. So those who rebel against Allah, who carry arrogance and haughtiness in their souls against Allah, who, deeming themselves superior, disdain Allah's verses, who say "outdated" and "reactionism" – the gates of heaven will not be opened for them.
Outdated and reactionism.
Whereas the religion of Islam will continue until the Day of Judgment. Did they think they would extinguish Allah's light with the breath of their mouths? Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment, it says. According to this verse, what "outdated" and what "reactionism"? What is reactionism? Longing for the past. That is reactionism. Now, the person who calls the Muslim who, longing for the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him), lives his religion of Islam, a case of reactionism – we will prove that the reactionism is his own. That he himself is the reactionism.
A Muslim living Islam in longing for the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) does not mean that this Muslim longs for the Prophet's (peace be upon him) own way of life, or for a religion he made up himself. The Prophet (peace be upon him) himself, the command he received from Allah Almighty – Muslims who apply it and long for that command,
those who call people who want to try to apply Islam fully as in the time of the Prophet and want to live their religion longing for it "reactionism" – not their longing for the time of the Prophet, but – those who call people who, before Allah's verses, kneel and prostrate, "reactionism" – those, we see so clearly, are people who deny Allah. And these – before the Prophet came, before he honored the world, those who buried their daughters alive in the earth, who were ashamed of them and fled to the mountains, and who unjustly took their lives, who were ashamed of their daughters, who said then too: we do not value our women.
We use them and, well, throw them away like a rag, they said –
who know no mother or sister, who make them dance at drinking tables – those who, for that feast for the eyes, yearn, those who long for that immoral morality that Islam does not want, that Allah Almighty does not want – those reactionaries are the reactionism. Because they are backward. With their sectarian quarrels, with those pleasures of the eyes, they amuse themselves and live their lives like a cicada for a short time, poor creatures who do not think of the end. Islam, however, takes firm steps and knows where it treads, and those who, by Allah's command, come out of the darkness into the light, who help people, who try to keep pace with the future – those are people.
Muslims. Look at those who say "reactionism". Those who hold the state back. Those whose minds work at nothing and who live only in pleasure and amusement, in theaters, in entertainments. These are the ones who are the true reactionism. The true reactionaries.
The believer, that believer serves as a mirror to that person. A mirror. It says the believer is the mirror of the believer, you know – although he is the believer's mirror, the believer, it says, is the mirror of people. When another person sees a believer, he remembers Allah. Now, when those reactionaries see those believers and remember Allah, by calling that person a reactionary – those who submit to Allah's command are not reactionaries; that person, that person, is not a reactionary – people who (?) Allah's verses, who deny Allah's verses, are the reactionaries. How beautifully that believer serves him as a mirror.
Yes. So in this case, those who deny Our verses and want to be arrogant towards them – these are the ones who are arrogant. Those – the gates of heaven will not be opened for them, and until a camel passes through the eye of a needle they will not enter Paradise. Thus do We punish the guilty, says Allah Almighty. In every election, in every election, together with their own men, 8-10 of them with grown beards, wearing black robes, well, bargaining with governors. In the streets, well, those doing dhikr in dervish clothes. And those poor people trying to make the truth look bad to people.
And those who spend every effort they can to turn people away from religion. But how beautifully Allah Almighty says: They prepare a trap. We too prepare a trap, He says. But We are the best of those who set traps, He says. So with falsehoods, as long as they rule, with falsehoods, their years and their wealth, their lives spent on falsehood – meanwhile Allah Almighty raises a scholar. And He has all they did brought to light, and all the things they did He turns back upon their own heads.
Those who rebel against Allah, who carry arrogance and haughtiness in their souls against Allah, who, deeming themselves superior, disdain Allah's verses, who say "outdated" and "reactionism" – the gates of heaven will not be opened for them. By the gates of heaven are meant the gates of Paradise. People will pass by Hell and gather at the place called Arasat. Arasat. Every person will see Hell. Every person. He will also hear its roar. Every person will see that Hell. Because he will pass by Hell. But there is no Sirat bridge built over Hell. Know this well. Look, on our website, on our website, about that superstition we have a sermon of two hours and thirty-six minutes.
Listen to it. In the light of the verses we explain that there is no Sirat bridge. Have your children listen to it too, have them listen. So that we are freed from superstitions. Yes, Al-A'raf, the name of the surah, describes this place. For the people gathered at Arasat to enter Paradise, the gates of Paradise must be opened to them. Because Allah Almighty will send them to Paradise, those people.
Who are those people? Allah's righteous servants. Who are these righteous servants? Those who submit to Allah's command. Those who worship our Lord as much as they can. Those who are careful about halal and haram. Those who observe right and law. Those who try not to depart from Allah's justice. And those who long for Allah. Yes.
These are those who pray the night prayer of tahajjud.
According to the verse Allah Almighty speaks: I have such servants that neither trade nor commerce keeps from the remembrance of their Lord – the people He means. (?) how is it? Constantly in this way, a person, even in buying and selling and trade, is not kept from the remembrance of Allah. What kind of role does this take? If you ask: in every transaction they make, they observe what is right. In every conversation with people, in the light of the verses, words of truth they speak. All of this is remembering Allah, a dhikr. Such people, it says, We will admit to gardens beneath which rivers flow, says Allah Almighty.
Just now, in that last lesson, we said a feeling had come to us. Just as our daughter Selin was moved and wrote to us how she was moved, to us too, on that same day, a feeling had come. We said, up there – I can't remember it right now. I said I would read it to you in the next lesson, but then we remembered it. I wrote it on that paper again. It comes to us like this: Let me be the one fragrant with the scent of basil. Let me be the nightingale that sings so forlornly. Let me be Your (?) loving servant. Let me be Your servant burning with longing for You. So we said. Here we express our love for Allah, our yearning for Him, our devotion.
Yes. You will yearn for Allah Almighty like this. You will have desire, longing. And when you go into the presence of your Lord: O My servant, in the world you tried to obey Me, My command. You strove as much as you could. Today this is your reward, He says. He sends you to the place you deserve, to that Highest Paradise. This is how the gates of heaven open over you.
Yes.
Allah, who created the worlds within a program, has programmed these gates for people. The people who will enter through these gates – when the frequencies people emit and the frequency at which the gates open match each other, the gate will open for these people. Aren't there photocells today? It opens when it sees you. And today, by your handprint, from your fingerprints, don't those doors open for you? They do. They don't open for someone else, but they open for those fingerprints. Yes.
To give an example: if you have an alarm system installed in a car, with the remote in your hand you open and close this car with the alarm system. Another remote cannot open and close this door. Because the remote in this one's hand and the car's receiver don't match, the car's doors don't open. In the earlier verses we wrote that people and all created beings emit a signal and that Allah is the receiver of all, that He knows their desires and wishes and at the same time their movements instantly. Allah, who programmed the worlds beforehand, since He knows what will be what, created everything in order and harmony and programmed them completely.
When He says the gates of heaven will not open for them – Allah, who made a covenant with people before, since He knows what people will do, only for those who will enter Paradise are these gates programmed. Others cannot enter. Even if he wants to go there, he will not be able to.
They will not enter Paradise until a camel enters the eye of a needle. Although there are those who, as for the word jamal in the verse, relying on illegitimate reading forms, claim that it does not fit the literary imagery in the Quran, that there is no connection between a camel and the eye of a needle – although such people exist, who prefer, from the word's other reading, thick rope, that is, the meaning cable, still, considering the reading of the majority, the meaning camel has been preferred. Accordingly, whether it is until a camel passes through the eye of a needle, or until a thick cable passes through the eye of a needle, since both make passing through the eye of a needle impossible, Allah Almighty declares that they cannot go to Paradise and will never see the face of Paradise.
When Allah Almighty says, thus do We punish the guilty – Allah Almighty, who never refrains from giving people every kind of comparison, also says in a verse: We never refrain from making comparisons with a gnat and with what is larger. Allah, who gives every kind of example in a way every person's mind can grasp, to people – yes – who makes His existence openly felt among people and shows them the way – to Allah Almighty, people still, out of arrogance and pride, turn their backs on the great ones, and if Allah's verses they set out to deny and make a perverse choice, these people who think themselves unaccountable and free understand the truth at the moment of death, at the end of the time given to them, but they can never escape these punishments.
Even if people appear free and unaccountable in this world, in fact, if only they could grasp their responsibility towards Allah Almighty, if only they could know what kind of yoke is on their necks and what kind of responsibility they are under, and that finally, at the end of their lives – all souls will taste death and your return is to Me; according to this verse every soul, on returning to its Lord, will understand when the soul reaches the throat – before a day comes when that "alas" will be worth nothing, a person must turn back to his Lord and not be subjected to the example of the camel that will not pass through that needle's eye.
Yes. Let me come to you now.
