Translation

If We had desired, We would have sent upon them a miracle from the sky and their necks would stay bent down.

Tafsir

When Allah (swt) makes a covenant with the people, He knows what they feel, so We manifest what they feel and desire from the sky upon them, and they bow their necks. This Verse also clarifies the meanings of many other Verses that we have already explained.

That is to say, Allah (swt) has created human beings very close to Him with the soul He has given to them. In this respect, man has not recognized and believed in Allah who created him, but has waited for the Allah of his imagination. The Allah of his imagination will appear from the sky in a terrible form and these people will bow down to Him out of fear. However, since Allah holds human beings accountable to Himself and gives them great value, He has given them His spirit. He wanted people to know Allah by their own will. In this respect, Allah (swt) has made human beings the addressee of His Essence. For this He has created man close to His Essence.

Because human beings are incapable of realizing this point, they have imagined a God in their imagination, in a horrible or very different form. Such an Allah did not appear. While they were expecting such an Allah, Allah has made a covenant with them. These disbelieving disbelievers thought Allah was like them and did not obey Him out of pride and arrogance. Allah (swt) knows this trait of theirs, so He says that if We willed, We could manifest from the sky in the way they have conceived in their minds and make them submit to Him. But Allah has created Hell for those who disbelieve in return for their disbelief. Since the disbelievers are in these feelings, they prostrate themselves to the one who manifests in a horrible way, not to the one who values them. Because these people already have such traits in their emotions, they immediately submit to those who are stronger than them.

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 4. If We willed, upon them We would send down a miracle from the sky, and their necks would stay bowed to it. Now, this verse, what does it support? All the verses always support one another anyway. Take Surah Al-A'raf: that Allah Almighty has no willing over people, it supports that. If We willed, We would send down a miracle upon them from the sky, and their necks would stay bowed to it. What else does this support? At the call Elestü bi-Rabbiküm, when Allah Almighty created our spirits, when I said to you, I am your Lord, it supports the denial of it. That is, which verse does it support?

They will not be able to see their Lord. It supports that verse. They will not be able to see their Lord. Because they interpret this verse wrongly, they say that in the hereafter those who enter paradise will see Allah Almighty like this. Yet in Surah As-Sajdah, verse 12, it says: We came, we saw, is there no way to return to the world? And also, the thing, in the verse. In this case everyone will see Allah Almighty, but those who in the worldly life did not know or recognize Allah will not recognize the realm of the hereafter either. What other verse does it support? If We had wished, He says, from the sky with angels (?) We would have made them prostrate, He says.

The verses support one another. Not as the (?) tell it: no, this one explains that, no, that one explains this, here it's this way, there it's that way; they have turned Allah's verses into (?). Yes. What are we saying? If We willed, We would send down a miracle upon them from the sky, and they would stay with their necks bowed. Since Allah Almighty knows what these people felt when He made the covenant with people, what they felt and what they desired, We make manifest upon them from the sky, and they bow their necks. This verse perhaps also sheds light on the meanings of many verses we have explained.

Namely, with the spirit He gave to people, Allah Almighty created people very close to Himself. Therefore man did not recognize Allah who created him, did not believe in Him, and waited for the Allah of his imagination. The Allah of his imagination, though, would appear from the sky in a terrifying form, and these people would bow to Him out of fear. Yet since Allah took man as the addressee of His essence, since He gave them very great value, He gave people from His spirit. He wanted people to know Allah by their own will. Therefore Allah Almighty took people as the addressees of His essence. For this He created man close to His essence.

So, since man lacks the grasp of this point, they imagined Allah in that terrifying or very strange form of their imagination. In the world, too, don't these people make idols that way? He makes his god in the shape that appeared in his imagination, and the things Allah created he worships in that imagined shape.

So, since man lacks the grasp of this point, they imagined Allah in that terrifying or very strange form of their imagination. No such Allah came forth. While they were waiting for such an Allah, Allah Almighty made a covenant with them. These denying disbelievers saw Allah as like themselves and, out of pride and arrogance, did not obey Allah. Since Allah Almighty knows these traits of theirs, He declares: If We willed, We would appear from the sky as they shaped it in their minds and make them bow their necks. But Allah Almighty created hell in return for the denial of those who deny. Since the denying people are in these feelings, they prostrate not to the one who gives them value, but to the one who appears in a terrifying form.

Since such traits are in these people's feelings anyway, they are the ones who, to forces stronger than themselves, immediately bow.
