Translation

Don’t they look at the land? There, We have brought forth plants from each beautiful pair.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) encourages people to contemplate. Don't people ever think about how many animals and plants created on the earth are put to the service of people and how their needs are met? He says.

Did these things come into existence out of nowhere? When the creation of every plant and every animal and their cells are examined, is it not revealed that a superhuman power created these cells, and do people not see how these created cells perform their duties according to the tasks they are to perform?

It is Allah who has created these things and put them at the service of people. Don't people ever contemplate the fact that Allah offers every fruit and vegetable on earth that can satisfy people's needs with taste and appetite, and every live animal that He has made lawful, with various delicacies so that people can benefit from their meat? This is how Allah proves His existence and that He is the absolute owner of the universe to the human being who thinks a little.

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 7.

Do they not look at the earth? "How many plants of every fine pair We have made grow there," it says.

Allah Almighty is leading people to reflection. How, from the many animals and plants created on earth and placed at people's service, their needs are met — do people never think about this? So He says.

In Surah Ar-Rahman, too, Allah Almighty says it so beautifully. Febi eyyi âlâi Rabbikümâ tükezzibân — which of Allah's blessings do you deny? Which blessing? There is no end to counting them. No end to counting them. He creates man. In the world He clothes him in the garment of a body, and together with a driver He gives him his outward appearance.

Together with a driver. That is, together with his soul. Then, so that this body may eat and drink in the finest way and enjoy the taste with pleasure, as is needed, He provides its sustenance on land, at sea and in the air. With all kinds of plants, with animals, with the corals in the sea, with its fish, with its ornaments He places them at man's command, and because He created man as a portion of His spirit, resembling His being, He also makes him the caliph of the earth.

To such a Lord of ours, who grants such a great blessing, who creates from nothing — to the blessings our Lord gives, would man turn his back and be ungrateful?

If man thinks about it, under this mercy Allah has given and this sustenance, the words to thank Allah he cannot find. Yes.

Here an event comes to my mind. When the Prophet ascended in the Mi'raj, he began to praise Allah Almighty with praise. And Allah Almighty says, "Your praising of Me has become like the (?) of your ummah." "At that moment, between my lips came a grain whiter than snow, sweeter than sugar," he says. A grain, and these words poured from his tongue: "I cannot make mention of Your being as You make mention of Yourself." We too say, "We cannot give thanks for the blessing You have given, my Lord." "In the finest way You have had thanks given and will have it given, the way we ought to give it — accept us like that," we say.

Yes. Otherwise no one can give thanks for it.

Did these come about just like that? When the creation of every plant and every animal, and their cells, are examined, it becomes clear that a superhuman power created these cells, and how these created cells fulfil their duties according to the work they are to do — do people not see that? It is Allah who created these and placed them at people's service. Allah, on earth, so that people can meet their needs with pleasure and appetite, from every fruit and vegetable, from every living animal He has made lawful, so that their meat may be used, with all kinds of flavours, people's
