With the permission of your Lord, the plants of a nice place come forth (nicely); and from a bad place, nothing but useless weed comes forth. This is how We explain Our verses for a grateful nation.
Tafsir
Here again Allah (swt) brings a simile to people. People who obey Allah and believe in the Hereafter are compared to a land whose soil is fertile. When these people hear the word of Allah, they immediately accept it. They see their shortcomings and correct their mistakes. They submit to Allah's command by believing in the Qur'an, which Allah has placed before them and taught them what they did not know. In this way, by reforming their own souls and doing good deeds, they will be beneficial to themselves and to others, and they will attain Allah's mercy. By doing good deeds in this way, they are likened to beautiful plants.
The polytheists and people of disbelief are likened to a stony and arid desert, and when they hear the Word of Allah, they are bored and overwhelmed. They do not want to accept the verses and the Word of truth. They oppress themselves and oppress others. In this way, they turn away from Allah and become like a merchant whose trade is not profitable.
A people who are grateful to Allah understands the subtleties of this, and lives in the hope of attaining the paradise in the Hereafter, which Allah has promised to such people, by being alive with Allah, not paying attention to the temporal worldly benefits and egoistic feelings for the sake of their eternal life, not inclining to the evil deeds of anyone until the moment of death, when the commandment will become true, and ruling by the commands of Allah, not inclining to the evil deeds of anyone, until the moment of death.
What is said in the video
Yes, at Surah Al-A'raf, verse 58 we left off.
With the permission of your Lord, the vegetation of a good land comes out good, He says. Look, here Allah Almighty gives another encouragement, brings a beautiful example. What does He say? With the permission of your Lord, the vegetation of a good land comes out good. That is, the people who gave Allah Almighty a good covenant at the address "Alastu bi-Rabbikum", on earth too, He says, are like good vegetation, of a good plant, He says, as He says "the vegetation of a good land comes out good", they too, He says, on earth, as Allah wishes, their Lord, within the sharia rulings their Lord created, that servant applying them fully upon himself, applying those sharia rulings, toward people gentle, and respectful and serving toward them, serving, with a nafs set right, carrying out the command of their Lord, their living is likened to the vegetation of that good land.
Take it as that beautiful, well-tended garden. It is sprayed every year. Let me tell you, sir. And fertilizers are put there. The soil is dug. It is aerated. Think of the vegetation that soil, that land will yield. Of course it will yield good things. Its vineyard and garden are well-tended. Likewise, if a person gave Allah Almighty a good covenant, the bad traits of his nafs he tears down. He lives as a good servant, as our Lord commanded. Of course this one too becomes a good person. Yes. From the (?), from the bad one, only useless things come out, He says. Indeed, a dry field. No water, no water at all. What will happen if you plant something in it?
That is, what will happen if you sow seeds? Either it will come out crooked from the drought, or most of the seed will perish and be gone. In that case, what benefit will come from it? Bad people are like this toward people too. Toward them, bad people give off only bad smells. They try to (?) bad states.
Thus We explain the verses for a people who give thanks, He says. A people who give thanks. That is, people who know their Lord, who are governed by Allah's command, for those who give thanks for their Lord's blessings, the blessings He gave, Allah Almighty gives a good example. And for a people who give thanks, He says, We explain the verses like this, He says. For a people who understand. Yes.
Here again Allah Almighty makes a comparison for people. We say. He makes a comparison.
People who (?) Allah and believe in the hereafter are likened to soil, to a fertile land. When these people hear Allah's word, they accept it at once. They see their own shortcomings and correct their mistakes. Seeing their own shortcomings, they try to correct their own mistakes.
Believing in the Holy Quran, through which Allah holds a light before them and teaches them what they do not know, they submit to Allah's command. Yes. (?) those who gave their covenant well at the address "Alastu bi-Rabbikum". The Prophet also says: While a child is in its mother's womb, it is clear whether it is wretched or God-fearing, he says. From where is it clear? Those who, when they made a covenant with Allah Almighty at the address "Alastu bi-Rabbikum", gave their covenant well. And did you think you would die before proving what kind of person you are? According to the verse, its (?), at the address "Alastu bi-Rabbikum", whatever it willed from Allah Almighty, placing those characters in it, writing its destiny, Allah Almighty: there is not a single living being to come until Doomsday of which We do not know what it will not do, according to the verse. So a child, while in its mother's womb, it is clear whether it is wretched or God-fearing.
The wish and desire it had there, with its wishes, desires and will in the world it will desire. Allah Almighty will create causes, and within those causes it will carry out its will. And through the (?) deeds it does, reward and sin it will earn. What a beautiful order Allah Almighty has set up for everyone. Within his own will, with his wishes and desires, before those around him and before Allah Almighty he is made to bear witness about himself.
Believing in the Holy Quran, through which Allah Almighty holds a light before them and teaches them what they do not know, they submit to Allah's command. In this way, setting their own nafs right and doing good deeds, being beneficial both to themselves and to people, they attain Allah's mercy. That is the good produce of a good land. At the peak of Allah Almighty's art of creation, a being, by its own will, knowing its Lord and, within Allah's commands, to Him (?) to His command, in the worldly realm both to its own benefit and bringing people to mercy with its states or its words, both holds a light before people and of Allah's mercy reminds them.
These are the good plants of the good land. Such people. Such people. The polytheists and people of kufr, likened to (?), stony and arid land, these, when they hear Allah's word, are irritated. They feel suffocated.
They do not want to accept the verses and the word of truth. They do wrong both to themselves and to people. Turning away from Allah like this, they become like a merchant whose trade made no profit. That is, bankrupt people. In a hadith of the Prophet: the bankrupt of my community is not the one who goes bankrupt in the world, he says. The one who goes bankrupt in the hereafter. So these are porters of the world whose hereafter is bankrupt. Yes.
So a people who give thanks to Allah, the subtleties of this understand; paying no heed to the fronts the unbelievers take against them or to their belittling, finding life with Allah, for their eternal life, without heeding temporary worldly interests and egoistic feelings, until the command of the Truth comes, that is, until the moment of death, not inclining to anyone's bad behaviour, being governed by Allah's commands, the paradise Allah promised to such people in the hereafter, they live in the hope of attaining it. In the hope of entering it. Yes. These, such people, the non-Muslims belittling them and mocking them, they never mind it and pay no attention. And in their own eyes they see them as pitiful ones. Because they, in their own lives, within their own understanding, living their own world, unaware of Allah's verses, (?) Allah's (?), to the point of declaring war on Allah and His Messenger, gone outside Allah's command, people who have overstepped the limits of Allah's sharia rulings, certainly tomorrow, on the Day of Judgement, at that Supreme Court, helpless and humiliated, far from Allah Almighty's mercy, they will end up in hell; people who know this, regardless of those ones belittling them and mocking them on earth, in their own inner world, those believers truly pity them.
Yes, they see that they are pitiful. They see that on the earth, on the earth, they are no different from four-legged animals. Sometimes, you know, four-legged animals even stand up for their mates. These don't even stand up for their spouses. Yes.
