Vow to that; We have sent Noah as a Messenger to his people. He said, “Oh my people! Worship Allah, you have no deity other than Allah. Verily, I fear the punishment of a great day that will come upon you.”
Tafsir
Allah (swt) has sent Prophets from time to time to the tribes who create mischief and corruption in the earth and commit immorality, so that they may find the truth. Allah (swt) also sent Prophet Noah to his people to invite them to the truth. Noah, who lived as a Prophet for nine hundred and fifty years among his people, was not respected by anyone, and his fathers used to tell their children, "We were advised by our father's father and he was advised by his father, this man you see is not dead, do not be fooled by what he says," and they used to keep even their children away from Noah.
Once people break their covenant and their destiny is written for them as disbelievers. Then no one can guide them except Allah. And Allah, the Almighty, being the Owner of justice, has written everyone's will as his destiny. He will never again change their destiny and cause injustice among His servants. In fact, if Allah (swt) were to change people's destiny, He would not have sent them to the realm of property to be witnesses to themselves, to the world around them and to Allah (swt). He would have finished them in the Hereafter. Therefore, he would have invited these unintelligent people to Allah (O my people! Serve Allah, you have no god but Him. Indeed, I am afraid of the punishment of a great day that will come upon you", but they did not listen to Hadrat Noah. Not only did they not believe in Allah, they also denied Hadrat Noah. It was for the sake of saving his people from destruction that Hadrat Noah was informed by Allah's revelation of what his people did not know.
When Allah destroys a town, He first warns them. When people who still do not understand the warning continue in their rebellion, Allah destroys the people in that town so that they do not lead the generations behind them to evil ways and cause mischief. It gives life to the new generations that will follow.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, verse 59: Allah Almighty, swearing by His own Self, says: Indeed, We sent Noah as a messenger to his people, as a prophet, that is. He said: O people, serve Allah. You have no god other than Him. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a day that will come upon you.
So as to make His Self known to people over time, Allah Almighty sends prophets. Look, just as (?) says. So that those people do not say: You did not make Yourself known to me in the world. Had You made it known, I would have worshipped You. In the world, too, He makes His Self known through His prophets, scholars, saints, miracles, books and prophets. In an unseen world.
Because O people, serve Allah, you have no god other than Him. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a day that will come upon you, he says. Why? Noah lived among his people for 960 years.
From father to son, people said this about Noah: My son, never believe what this man says. I was given this advice by my father. And he was given it by his father. This man does not die. My father's father and his father passed the advice down one to another. And I am advising you too: never believe this man. When they saw Noah, they would change their path. And they would say this to Noah: While a few lowly people are with you, should we be with you? they would say. That is, people who obtained the wealth Allah created, imagining it to be their own, seeing themselves above others because of that wealth, pitiful, destitute people.
People destitute of humanity. Well, Noah, to them, verses, to them. What I just said is also a verse. That is: while destitute people are with you, should we ever follow you? something like that. And Noah: if they are with Allah, or if they say Allah, can I, he says, exclude them from (?), he says. Everyone is free in their will. Everyone can act. Whatever they do, they do. So I invite you to Allah too, he says. To Allah. So when they saw Noah, they would change their path. Then Noah says to Allah Almighty: (?) I have been defeated by them, he says. Defeated. It is then that Allah Almighty says: O Noah, build a ship.
A ship. He has him build a ship. He says: well, under My control. Build a ship, He says.
Take one of every pair on board. One of each. And the rest, He says, I will (?) with the flood. Even while Noah was building the ship, the non-Muslims, those polytheists, would mock Noah. Yes, and after the Flood of Noah, according to one report, Noah lived among his people for another 260 years. So altogether he lived 240 more years. 240, he lived 960, he lived 1200 years. So it is reported that his lifespan was 1200 years.
Yes, indeed We sent Noah as a messenger to his people. He said: O my people, serve Allah. You have no god other than Him. Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a day that will come upon you. To peoples who spread strife and corruption on earth and act immorally, Allah Almighty has sent prophets from time to time, so that they would find the truth. Allah Almighty sent Noah as a prophet to his people so that he would invite his people to the truth. Noah, who lived among his people for 950 years as a prophet, was given no regard by anyone. None at all. To their fathers and children: from our fathers' father, and he from his father, we have been advised. This man you see does not die.
Never be fooled by what he says, they would say. They would even keep their children away from Noah.
Let people just once give their covenant badly. That is, when He said 'I am your Lord', all matters were already settled there. There, let one just give one's covenant badly. What does Allah Almighty say? Those who turn their backs on their Lord, We have sealed their hearts, He says. So they say, but in fact they made Us seal their hearts. They had veils drawn over their eyes. And they blocked their ears so as not to hear the word of truth. Well, in this way they had their hearts sealed too. Now, He says, these will never come to the right path. So Allah Almighty to the Prophet: For their sake, He says, I see you struggling to the point of destroying yourself, He says. My beloved, you cannot make the deaf hear.
Least of all, He says, the dead who have turned their backs and gone, He says. Yes.
Let people just once give their covenant badly. Let their destiny just once be written for them as deniers; then no one but Allah can bring them to the path. And Allah Almighty, then, since He will not use His will over people, for only Allah brings them to the path, and what does He say in a verse? If We do not will, you cannot will. That is, all willing is in My hand. I created it. I programmed it according to your willing. It is not possible for you to change this programming of yours, your destinies, He says. Only that is in My hand. But a word has also gone forth from Me: Paradise and Hell, He says.
Yes. In this case, apart from the covenant people gave to Allah Almighty's Self, our Lord touches no one's covenant and never changes their covenants or their destinies. Every person will prove what kind of person they are. And so (?), and according to the verse where He says 'your return is to Me', at the Great Judgement everyone will give account before our Lord. Yes. If Allah Almighty were going to change our destinies, to remove our partial will from us and use His own will over us, He would not have brought us into the world at all, and what did we want anyway? Yes. The order has been set up beautifully.
So let people just once give their covenant badly. Let their destiny just once be written for them as deniers. Then no one but Allah, no one but Allah can bring them to the path. And since Allah Almighty is just, He has written each person's wish for them as destiny. He will not commit injustice among His servants by changing their destinies again. Had He been going to change their destinies, He would not have sent people to their first world, to bear witness to themselves, to those around them and to Allah. He would simply have settled their affairs in the hereafter. As I said a moment ago.
Of course. Had Allah Almighty used His will: look, you are this, come on, you go here; you are that, you go there; He would simply have settled their affairs. For this reason, inviting these people who will not listen to Allah: O my people, Noah, inviting these peoples who will not listen to Allah: O my people, serve Allah. You have no god other than Him.
Although he said: Truly, I fear for you the punishment of a great day that will come upon you, they did not listen to Noah. Now, in this case, since we have come to an unseen world, we will prove to ourselves what kind of person we are. In this case. In this case.
If we are good, we are good anyway. We will do good. If we are bad, we are bad anyway. We will do evil. What need is there for a Prophet? What need is there for scholars, for books? Does this come to mind? It does. It does. He sent us to an unseen world, you see, a world where His Self is not seen. He closed those worlds to us. Although it is there in our minds, in our intellect, although it is in our memory, and how do we know? At the moment of death, when we see those places, we will remember. We will say: send me back to the world. Yes. Even if We sent you back, He says, not once but once more, you would do the same thing again, as the verse says; which means that memory of ours He locks, and has us start from zero in the world, protecting us through mother and father, under their care, within bonds of love, accustoming us to our surroundings, to life, He raises us, and He gives such a mind that every person, looking back, their mother and father, their mother's and father's fathers, and their fathers too, and where does it end?
And how did it end? Allah Almighty tells us that it ends with Adam. He tells you that you have a Lord. He tells, He tells, that is, through His verses. Yes, so that you do not say: You brought me to an unseen world. You erased those places from me too. How would I know? So that you do not say I could not know You, He sends, to bring out your nature, prophets; He sends books, scholars. He makes you hear this. What is this like? A seed. There is a seed. Sown in a field. No rain. Will it grow there? No water, it is dry. It dries up and is gone. In this case, when a person comes into the world, Allah Almighty: that seed is the person's own will, that is, their covenant, wish, destiny.
That rain: His prophets, Allah's verses tell them. And so a person proves in the world what a beautiful, what a (?) character they have, they themselves, their being.
So they did not listen to Noah. Just as they did not believe in Allah, they also called Noah a liar. Yet Noah, since Allah Almighty had revealed to him what his people did not know, was there to save his people from destruction. Yes, now, when Allah is going to destroy a land, He first warns them. What does He say? Before We destroy a land, unless We first send warners to its main center, He says, We do not destroy that land. How beautifully He says it. He will surely send a warner, give a warning. Yes, this is our Lord's justice.
So when Allah is going to destroy a land, He first warns them. When people who still do not heed the warning continue in their transgression, so that the generations after them do not go down bad paths and fall into strife, Allah destroys the peoples in that land. He gives life to the new generations that come after.
