He said; “Oh my people! I am not in ignorance, but I am a Messenger who was sent by the Lord of all the Worlds.”
Tafsir
Hadrat Hud addressed his people and said: O my people! I am not a human being as you understand me, nor am I brainless. I am a messenger of Allah, sent to show you the doors of Allah's mercy and to keep you away from the torment. O my people! I know what you do not know. In this respect, he replied, "You are calling me brainless because you cannot understand what I am trying to say.
Yes, if a person's covenant is not written as rebellion against Allah, of course they cannot comprehend, of course they cannot understand. Their ears are deaf, their eyes are blind and their hearts have been sealed by Allah (swt). Therefore, when they are invited to the truth, when they hear the Word of truth, they become depressed, and they think that the Prophets' invitation to them to the truth is beyond their intellect, and in their intellect they consider the Prophets ignorant and inferior. Therefore, these people of disbelief and polytheists deny the Prophets.
Each of the Prophets has the strength and power of forty people. Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had the strength and power of forty Prophets. In this respect, during the battle, those who were in distress among the Companions would huddle close to the Prophet and relieve their distress.
Because the Prophets are wiser and more capable than human beings, and because Allah (swt) reveals to their hearts what they do not know and informs them of the future as much as Allah (swt) permits, they are beyond the capacity of human reason. Those who cannot digest this capacity immediately attack the Prophets. Since these people have made a bad covenant with Allah (swt), and the Prophets' invitation to people to the truth does not suit them, they either kill or deny the Prophets who came as a mercy to them. In the end, these are the ones who are unjust to their souls. They buy the torment of eternal life.
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 67 of Surah Al-A'raf. Hud (peace be upon him) says to his people: O my people! I am not foolish. But I am a messenger sent by the Lord of the worlds, he says. Right. I am not senseless, he says. I came to warn you. So that an outcome that will come upon you, that is, a disaster, may be prevented, I am warning you. But if you continue in this state, he says, a calamity coming to you I can never prevent. Yes, Hud, calling out to his people: O my people, I am not, in the way you understand, a fool. I am not a fool at all. As Allah's messenger, to show you the doors of Allah's mercy, to keep you away from punishment, I am a messenger who has been sent.
O my people, I know what you do not know. Well, of course a prophet will know. Allah Almighty makes it known; He sent them as servants to His servants. The prophets love His servants very much. They do not want them to become subject to a punishment. So He sends them prophets, scholars, books, so that they find the truth, come to what is right, and since they are honorable beings in His sight, so that We may give them the Paradises We promised, says Allah Almighty. Yes, so: what I want to tell you, O people, I know what you do not know, so, since you could not understand what I want to tell you, you are calling me foolish, he replied.
You do not want to understand what I tell you, he says. You do not want to understand. Yes, once a person's covenant has, as rebellion against Allah, been written. That is, as we said, everything happened and was completed at that address 'Elest-ü bi Rabbiküm'. People's desires, wishes and aims were written for them as destiny. So that they can play out their destinies, they were given characters able to live those destinies. When people come to earth, when their time comes and they come to earth, they have desires and wishes. According to those desires and wishes Allah Almighty creates events.
When people carry out these events by their actual deeds, they receive reward and sin. Thus the verse 'Did you think you would die without proving what kind of people you are' comes to pass. Every person will be called to account for what his own two hands have earned. We never wrong souls, He says. You wrong your own souls, says Allah Almighty.
On the Day of Judgment, at the supreme court, when we appear before Allah Almighty: today, He says, so that no soul is wronged, what each has earned, the (?), as the recompense of his own two hands will be given to him, He says. So Allah wrongs no one. Not even the one He puts into Hell. Because he wronged his own soul. He forgot his own Creator. He rebelled against his Lord. He was not grateful for the blessings He gave. So (?), since Allah is just, those who know and those who do not, those who worship Him and those who do not, He will separate. Yes.
Yes. Once a person's covenant is written as rebellion against Allah, of course they cannot perceive. Of course they cannot understand. Their ears are deaf, their eyes blind, and they are people who had their hearts sealed by Allah Almighty. So when they are invited to the truth, when they hear the word of truth, they go into a crisis. In a verse Allah Almighty says: when they hear the truth, they reach the state where the clouds in the sky would burst, He says. May Allah protect us. Yes.
The prophets', the prophets', to these people, inviting them to the truth, since they see it as beyond their minds, by their reckoning they regard the prophets as ignorant and inferior. That is why these people of kufr and the polytheists deny the prophets. As I said just now, those who deify their nafs look down on those who say 'Allah'. In their own nafs they see them as high. Actually, I mean, they see themselves as high. In fact that believer serves as a mirror to him. He is not aware that he himself is the lowly one. Yes.
Those 'reactionism' trials and such come to my mind.
Those who say 'it spoils my visual pleasure, my visual pleasure was spoiled'. Those who strip people, make them naked and amuse themselves with them. Just like in the times when the Prophet had not come, in the time before him, those who buried girls alive in the ground, the people who buried them. Allah Almighty grants our women a great life. Life. He entrusts them to men. And He commands that they be treated well. He commands that our women be treated well. In this case, those who cannot bear it, who say 'my visual pleasure was spoiled', since they cannot satisfy their nafs, say 'reactionism has risen from the grave', they say, about those who live Islam; just look at that.
'Reactionism has risen.' He himself is the reactionism. He himself raised reactionism from the grave. Why? Before the Prophet graced the world, when they buried their daughters alive, by recalling those old ages, they themselves raise reactionism from the grave. A Muslim is not reactionary. A Muslim is progressive, one who knows the step he takes and decides well, with his mind alone, about what is to come. He steps firmly wherever he steps. But those whose hearts are scattered and restless, to relieve their restlessness, seek peace outside Allah's command. Wherever they rush, when they rush into things like drink, gambling, adultery, they sink into a mire deeper than their own height.
That is why there is peace in those who live Islam. In the others there is no peace. They are people with scattered and restless hearts. Yes.
Each of the prophets, every single prophet, has the power and strength of forty people. Allah Almighty created a prophet like that. The power and strength of forty people. The Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, has the power and strength of 40 prophets.
That makes the power and strength of 1600 people. In battles those hard-pressed would take refuge beside the Prophet. In battles. Yes.
Muhammad (peace be upon him) too had the power and strength of 40 prophets. That is why during battle those hard-pressed (?) would draw close beside the Prophet and get through their tight moments. So since the prophets are wiser and more discerning than people, with Allah Almighty revealing to their hearts what they did not know, as far as Allah Almighty permits, about the future and in what they tell people, they are beyond people's mental capacity. Beyond people's mental capacity. And because people cannot understand them, they call them possessed, they call them mad, they say, they call them simpletons, idiots, they say such things.
They cannot understand him. Because their mental capacity is very low. Allah Almighty gives signs to His saintly servant through inspiration, to the prophets through revelation. And He reveals to their hearts so that they may convey it to people. But see how those polytheists, since they cannot comprehend that prophet, their eyes are not outwardly but figuratively blind, and their ears are blocked. Yes.
Those who cannot stomach this capacity immediately attack the prophets. Since these people gave Allah Almighty a bad covenant, since the prophets' inviting people to the truth does not suit them, the prophets who came to them as a mercy they either kill or deny. Did they not kill Zechariah (peace be upon him) too? While his son John was in prison, as he was going to rescue him, the Jews followed him, and when he realized he was being followed he hid inside a tree trunk, the blessed one. They close off the side of the (?) trunk, and with a saw Zechariah (peace be upon him) they martyr. They cut the trunk with a saw.
They martyr him inside it.
Those who, deceived by a few hours' pleasure and enjoyment of this passing world, leave their hereafter (?) to punishment. Can you call these people intelligent? They are wretched, devoid of reason, thinking themselves clever, swaggering with the whims of the nafs, proud, presuming themselves by the blessings Allah has put in their hands, swaggering, people who live swaggering with that wealth. Ah, wretched people. In His verse Allah Almighty says: or are you owners of the world's (?), He says. If it were so, of your world, down to (?), nothing would be given to you. That is, if you had created those (?) too, He says, you would create your own needs yourself.
You would not express a need for what I created. And I, He says, would give you nothing of what I created. But since everything, from the atom to the globe, is in need of what Allah created, to the one God who creates, the one Being and Power who owns those worlds, we must submit. Can the minds of those who do not submit to Him be called minds? Are they not fools? Yes. These people, since they gave Allah Almighty a bad covenant, since the prophets' inviting people to the truth does not suit them, the prophets who came to them as a mercy they either kill or deny. In the end these people become wrongdoers against their own souls.
They will have bought the punishment of eternal life. That is, the place of which He says 'what an evil place of return', 'what an evil bed', they will have bought: Hell. May Allah protect us.
