Translation

“I am proclaiming to you that which my Lord has revealed to me and I am a trustworthy admonisher.”

Tafsir

Even though Hadrat Hud 'alaihis-salâm' knew what would happen to his people with the knowledge revealed by Allah, he still did not stop inviting them to Allah to prevent them from going astray. They did not listen to him, even though he warned his people (I am announcing to you what my Lord has commanded, and I am a trustworthy counselor for you), so that when a calamity came upon them in the sight of Allah, they would not complain against him. In this respect, these people have gone beyond the limits, they have turned a deaf ear to the warnings of Hadrat Hud 'alaihis-salâm' because they do not recognize Allah, the Prophet.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-A'raf, verse 68, insha'Allah, this evening we will try to explain.

I convey to you what my Lord has revealed, and I am for you a trustworthy messenger, he says. I am an adviser. I am an adviser. Who is saying this? Hud (peace be upon him). Why does he say it? I am a trustworthy messenger to you, an adviser. Allah Almighty chose him as the prophet his people praised. He chose him as His messenger, to give them advice.

So Hud (peace be upon him) will complete his duty. Tomorrow, at the supreme court, regarding those people's complaining about Hud, about that prophet, Hud (peace be upon him) will state his duty. What will he say? O Allah, I conveyed Your command to them, but they did not listen to me, he will say. Then that people that was destroyed, that people that will be sunk in punishment, will find no word to say. That is why Hud (peace be upon him) says: I am a trustworthy adviser to you, he says. Yes, although Hud (peace be upon him) knew what would befall his people through the knowledge Allah revealed, he still, to keep his people from going astray, did not hold back from inviting them to Allah.

What is the reason? So that his people would not complain about him. So that they would not say: O Allah, this (?) did not inform us now. He did not inform us. Yes, so that they would not say 'warn us (?)', he puts in the necessary effort.

So that, when a calamity comes upon his people from Allah's hand, his people would not complain about him, he warned his people: I convey to you what my Lord has made known, and I am a trustworthy adviser for you; yet they did not listen to Hud (peace be upon him). So since these people had overstepped the bounds, and were in a state of recognizing neither Allah nor prophet, they are people who blocked their ears to the warnings of Hud (peace be upon him). So these are the people subject to our Lord's verse. The people who are the counterpart of this verse. Yes.
