Al-A'raf 71: (Hud) said; “A punishment and wrath from your Lord descended upon you. Are you arguing with me about names that only you and your ancestors have given, and about whom Allah has not sent down any proof? If so, wait; verily, I am also among those who will wait with you.”

(Hud) said; “A punishment and wrath from your Lord descended upon you. Are you arguing with me about names that only you and your ancestors have given, and about whom Allah has not sent down any proof? If so, wait; verily, I am also among those who will wait with you.”
Tafsir
When Hud's warnings and showing them the truth did not help this blind and deaf people and they openly challenged Allah, Allah sent down upon them a chastisement and a wrath. In other words, Allah has decreed the punishment of wiping them off the face of the earth.
He said to the people who had not sent down any evidence from Allah (swt) about them, but only the dry names that their ancestors had given them, and who had made gods for themselves and believed in them, "Do you argue with me about them, that is, about those whom you worship by shaping them with your hands?
(Wait, then surely I am one of those who wait.) Hadrat Hud 'alaihis-salâm' knew by revelation that a punishment and a wrath from Allah had come upon them, so he had nothing more to say to his people. He only said: "O my people! Then wait, I am one of those who wait with you. Unfortunately, because the truth and the truths are too heavy for the souls of people, their hatred against those who advise the truth and call to the truth has increased, and they have become a transgressive people.
How sad and painful it is that people who are with Allah, people who call to Allah and salvation, want to take those who are on a bad path, to lead them to happiness, to save them from the misery of eternal life, and to make them heirs to the paradise of the Hereafter, while these people consider the lives of the people who want to save them as a license for themselves, and either kill them or accuse them of being liars.

Hud
said: A punishment and wrath from your Lord have come down upon you. Yes, that is, you are no longer going to turn to what I say. In this situation my Lord's command has come to me. What is this? A decisive word. Hud said: A punishment and wrath from your Lord have come down upon you. That's it, the matter is closed. O Hud, you have done your duty. They deserve this, they deserve this destruction, and since We do not destroy a people without warning them, We sent you to them as a messenger. You have done your duty, He says. And from Us that wrath has now gone out, He says. Gone out. Do you dispute with me about mere names that you and your forefathers have given, for which Allah has sent down no proof?
Then wait; surely I too am among those who wait with you, he says. Wait. Whether those you worship, those you call gods, that being, will be able to keep Allah's wrath from you, he says? Wait. I am waiting too. Allah Almighty does not give that wrath right away (?) either. (?) gives it right away. He makes the time wait one day, two days, three days. Why? Perhaps they will turn back. And Allah Almighty knows. Where did the perhaps come from, then? Because a person would say: Right after the Prophet said this, right after he concluded the command, the wrath came. Well, no time given us to think (?).
Would a person say that? He would. So Allah Almighty also removes these words they would ask, the ruling goes out, that is, the decision is made. For example, say an enemy is passing through a place.
Within our target range. Where do we wait? We wait for the command. We are ready, we will fire. After the order to fire is given, fire is opened. Yet he is within our target range, we could fire at once, we don't, and we wait for the order. Now the order has gone out. When? That is, the order is this: against that enemy (?) has been taken. So now this order has gone out. The order to fire, two days, three days later, a day later. He is still within that target range. So for man, Allah Almighty immediately had the Prophet warn. After that, though he gave us this news, you gave us no time at all.
He waits so that they do not say: You rained the calamity down on us right away. So Lot (peace be upon him) and the other prophets say the same thing. Wait, he says, I too am waiting with you. When the angels came to Lot (peace be upon him) too, when they wanted to take the angels from Lot, Lot (peace be upon him) is very worried. The angels say: Don't worry about us, we are Allah's angels. We have come to destroy this people, they say, and Allah Almighty temporarily makes their eyes totally blind, totally blind. Then they say great sorcerers have come, they say great sorcerers have come to Lot, they say.
And Allah Almighty does not have that town destroyed right away. He says to His angels: the command is for towards morning; is not the morning near? He says. One's hair (?) at this word. Is not the morning near?
Yes. These are Allah's verses.
Then wait; surely I too am among those who wait, he says. Since Hud (peace be upon him) knew by way of revelation that a (?) and a ruling had gone out from Allah, he had nothing left to say to his people. Yes, only: O my people, then wait, I too am waiting with you; other than saying that, (?) nothing else came. Sadly, since right and truths weigh heavily on people's selves, heavily, these people's hatred grew towards those who counsel the right and invite to the right, and they became a people who transgress the limits. Yes, I too am telling you this much. I always try to make you love Allah (?).
I try to open up Allah's verses to you. In this situation, those who cannot find a mistake in the verses, in the verses I explain, superstitions, with confusing words, with words that are no Sirat bridge, with superstitions, they launch an attack. But thanks be to Allah, they have probably found the truth by listening and listening, it seems to me. God willing, they too will find the truth, turn to Allah, be freed from superstitions, help the truth; according to the verse: Help the religion of Allah, they will help the religion of Allah. Yes, everyone who came along (?). Stretched the verses according to his own mind.
Wherever he heard a word from right or left and liked it, he began to tell it. In this way, supposedly thinking: I serve the religion, he in fact, without realising he has fallen into a sin bigger than himself, goes on his way. God willing, they will hear the truth and come to the truth. If I am telling superstitions, my request to them, my request to them:
in the light of the verses, that these superstitions I tell are wrong, they must prove. If they cannot prove it and also know that it is the word of truth, my request to them is to abandon the superstitions and turn to the truth. We are all brothers in the world. A Muslim is the brother of a Muslim. His brother. Even if one Muslim is at one end of the world and another at the other end, a believer, they are brothers, He says. Even if one believer is at one end of the world and another at the other end, they are brothers, He says. In this situation we speak as believers and say: if we all live within the religion of Islam, in the unity and togetherness of Allah, we are obliged to warn one another.
If, when we warn one another, our selves do not give in to desire, we do not follow in the footsteps of the devil, but use our reason to learn Allah's commands in the best way, and take our place in our Lord's ranks, we will have supported one another, we will have carried one another on our backs. Yes, Allah Almighty also makes known the religion of Islam to us in this way, within its religious rulings. Brotherhood of Islam, brotherhood of believers, He says. Do not break your unity and togetherness, He says. Now if we are explaining the religion of Islam, explaining the truth, if I tell superstitions and you tell the truth, you will say: according to this verse, you are explaining these things wrongly, my brother, never, never explain it like this again.
If you tell superstitions and understand that what I explain is the truth and yours superstition, I don't say reform your self. Because you are a Muslim. I advise you to take your place beside the truth the moment you see your mistake. I want you to walk in the light of the verses and stay under Allah's mercy, and that is why: never oppose the truth with superstitions. With superstitions. Because in the light of verses you don't understand, do not present verses that have nothing to do with the topic as if they were about it, and try to mislead people. In the best way, with Allah's verses, together with those who show that way, within an ocean of knowledge, try to walk with sure steps on the path of truth.
We need to know this very well. I repeat. No human being can attribute attributes to Allah Almighty. When a human, by his own mind, attributes attributes to Allah Almighty, he does not realise that he is doing so; he thinks his own idea is right. But the moment he hears the truth, the moment he hears the truth and feels that Allah Almighty has been given attributes, he must at once (?) from it. He must turn back at once. Because Allah Almighty is complete and perfect. He is (?) from every kind of deficient attribute. That is one. Secondly, Allah Almighty never removes our will over us, that is, He does not make us pass the rulings we have passed by His own will, outside our will.
In this case, since all the deeds we have done will be presented to us as the return of our own two hands, and since when we do an atom's weight of good and an atom's weight of evil it will be recorded, saying Allah Almighty sends whom He wills to Paradise and whom He wills to Hell, or as He created humans and jinn destined for Hell, as in: Allah does not love the community of unbelievers. Yet within that community of unbelievers there are also those who are Muslims. If we attribute attributes to Allah Almighty with such wrong words, as in: Allah does not love the community of unbelievers. That attributes to Allah. Allah does not love the community that persists in unbelief. If you say that, it is right.
That persists in unbelief. But if you say the community of unbelievers, there are Muslims who come out of it. Then He would not have loved that Muslim either. So one must pay very close attention to the words. This is the science of kalam. To such people, people who do not know this science, who cannot master this science, who take words heard here and there to be right and, with superstitions and their own minds, thinking they serve the religion of Islam, fall into sins bigger than themselves, to those who fall into them, I am speaking. For the sake of Allah. If I explain wrongly, warn me, but with verses.
If, with these verses I explain, you see that your path is wrong, so that you do not deem your own self worthy of eternal punishment, or even of a temporary punishment, so that you are rich in the hereafter, so that you do not go before your Lord who created you with your head bowed, as a sinner, your life is a treasure for you; within this life, I advise you to walk in the light of the verses with the proofs the truth shows you. Yes. Don't the prophets say the same thing to people too? They say the same thing.
What does he say? How sad and painful it is that, while people who are with Allah, people who invite to Allah and to salvation, want to take those on the bad path from there, bring them to happiness, save them from the agony of eternal life and make them heirs to the paradise of the abode of the hereafter, these people consider the lives of the people who want to save them lawful for themselves and have either killed them or accused them of lying.
While they invited those people to be saved, those people either killed their prophets and even called those prophets liars. Just as, in their superstitions, they call those who explain the truth: this man is a fake. One laughs. That is, it hurts. It hurts. Yes.
