Translation

Among the prominent people from his nation, those who showed arrogance said to those who appeared weak; “Do you know that Shelah (Salih) has been sent by his Lord?” They said; “Verily, we believe in that which has been sent with him.”

Tafsir

The elders of the tribe of Thamud, the wealthy people, in pride and arrogance, addressed those of the tribe of Thamud who were materially weaker than them, and said, 'Do you believe that Salih was sent by his Lord? That is to say, these people, the wealthy ones, used their influence over the weaker ones to make them obey them and to draw them into their ranks, saying, "Have you seen that Salih was sent by his Lord, are you sure?" They wanted to make them doubt and hesitate, and because they were wealthy, they wanted to use their influence over them to drive them away from the Prophet Salih. The people who were weak in substance gave surprising answers to those who were arrogant and proud. They said, "Surely we are believers in whatever he was sent with. Not expecting this answer, the polytheists became very angry and decided to cross the line.

What is said in the video

Those of the leaders of his people who were arrogant said to those among them who were deemed weak: you know, those who were arrogant, the weak among them not in body, those praised for their wealth and property, who, because of their wealth, saw themselves as superior among people and were arrogant; who called those without wealth and property, the poor, weak, and boasting of their dominance over them, bragging, acted superior; such people. They said: Do you know that Salih is sent by his Lord? To whom? To those weak ones. And they said: Surely we believe in whatever he has been sent with. Isn't it like this in every age?

In every age. Allah Almighty, from wealthy, influential, respected people, people respected for material things, does not send a prophet. The reason is that they obey those people for material gain, they say yes to their words, but in their hearts they are actually in denial. So He always sends from among them the weak, the weak. That person seen as weak is in truth, together with your Lord, one who has your Lord's support behind him and who, tasked by his Lord, tells people the truth. But they see this person as weak. In fact, there is no (?) that could (?) that person's back, none. Because Allah is behind him.

In this situation, to those people who seem weak, people who have Allah behind them, what do they say? Do you believe that Salih is sent by Allah? And what do they say? We believe in him, in whatever he has been sent with, they say. Yes, the leaders of the people of Thamud, from among the wealthy, in pride and arrogance, acting superior, addressing those of the people of Thamud who were materially weaker than themselves, said: Do you believe that Salih has been sent by his Lord? That is, these people, the wealthy ones, using their influence over the weak, to make them obey what they said and to draw them to their side, saying: Have you seen that Salih is sent by his Lord, are you sure? casting them into doubt and hesitation; and because they were wealthy, they used their influence over them too, to distance them from Prophet Salih. The people who were materially weak gave a surprising answer to those who were arrogant and proud before them.

Surely we are among those who believe in whatever he has been sent with, they said. The idolaters, who did not expect this answer, became very angry and decided to transgress the limits. Where do they transgress? Look now.
