Tafsir
Prophet Salih turned away from his people when Allah informed him of the punishment that would come upon them and said: "O my people! He said: "Surely I have conveyed to you what has been revealed to you from my Lord and I have given you advice, but you do not love those who give advice.
Those who turn their backs on Allah and His Messenger, who boast of Allah's property as if it were their own creation, who are created in helplessness and in need of Allah's protection, but who defy Allah and turn their backs on Him, are buying a painful punishment for their own souls. Such people, those who do not learn from these events, exist in every age. They rebel against Allah in various ways. They consider it an honor to rebel against Allah and think they are heroes. These are the people who aspire for the eternal misery of the Hereafter, who strive day and night to attain it. When the moment of death finally comes and they realize that their lives have been a complete failure, they become frustrated people.
Salih 'alaihis-salâm' was from the tribe of Thamud. His father's name was Ubayt. Thamud was from the descendants of Sam, the son of Noah (peace be upon him). His father's name was Abir. The sons and grandsons of Thamud are called Thamud, and they are called the tribe of Thamud. They used to live in a place between Hijaz and Damascus called Hijr in the Wadi 'Ilkariyah. After the destruction of the tribe of Ad, the tribe of Thamud developed their land and lived in abundance for a long time. They built very magnificent buildings. But in time they too started worshipping idols and creating mischief in the earth. Allah (swt) sent Salih (peace be upon him) as a Prophet to them, who belonged to the most honorable family among them. Very few people followed Prophet Salih. The others opposed and denied their Prophet. They said to Hadrat Salih 'alaihis-salâm', "If you are true to your word, if you are a Prophet, they wanted a camel to come out of that rock as they described. Hadrat Salih prayed and a camel came out as they had asked for. Not a few of those who saw this extraordinary miracle believed in Hadrat Saliah.
Prophet Salih said to his people, "This camel has been sent to you as a miracle. It will drink from the water of that well on a certain day and then you will benefit from the water of that well. You will not prevent this camel from drinking water and grazing in the fields. Then Allah will give you a calamity and you will be exposed to this calamity, but his people did not obey the warnings of Hazrat Salih. They slaughtered that camel by cutting off its legs. When he learned that Allah (swt) was going to punish his people through the revelation of Salih (peace be upon him), he left his people and went to Palestine before the punishment took place. When Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) left his people, there was a violent earthquake and smoke from the sky and a very loud cry. When this happened, the people fell on their knees and perished in their astonishment.
It is narrated that the tribe of Thamud slaughtered the camel on Wednesday. Allah sent His punishment on Saturday. Salih 'alaihis-salâm' left his home weeping with one hundred and twenty of his followers. He saw smoke rising into the sky and realized that his people had perished. It is said that those who perished were one thousand five hundred households. According to one narration, Salih 'alaihis-salâm' was a Prophet among his people for twenty years. He died in Mecca when he was fifty-eight years old. It is also said that he returned to his homeland with those who believed in him.
What is said in the video
In verse 79: Salih then turned away from them. The Prophet Salih. And he said: O my people! I swear I have conveyed to you what my Lord revealed. He is a prophet, of course. He receives revelation. When Allah Almighty makes His verses known to the prophets' peoples through communication, they are prophets. As verses, first what Allah Almighty sent to His prophets: His words, the verses. What does he say? I have conveyed to you what my Lord revealed. And I gave you counsel. But you do not like those who give counsel. Yes.
The Prophet Salih, as Allah made known to him the punishment that would come upon them, turned away from his people and said: O my people, I swear, what was revealed from my Lord, from my Lord, from Allah Almighty, what was revealed to the heart of the Prophet Salih, I have conveyed to you, and I gave counsel. But you do not like those who give counsel, he said.
Although I explain the truth to you, you do not like those who explain the truth. Now, in every age people, carried away by the desires of the nafs, carried away by the desires of the nafs, Allah's religious ruling weighs heavily on a person's nafs. In this case, in this hidden world, that is, a world where the essence of Allah Almighty is not seen, death seems very far to a person. And the hereafter is doubtful to him, even if he is a Muslim. Doubtful, even if he is a Muslim.
In this case a person's nafs, being with him, always guides him against the truth and drowns him in (?). (?) makes him side with his nafs. In this case a person very quickly drifts away from Allah. Yes. If you pay attention, it is always the same children of ours who listen to us. They long for the truth; to know the truth, to purify their nafs, to learn the verses well, they are people who listen here (?). Even if I beat them, they would not run away. They know that both my beating and my love are a cure for them. Why? Because they will not shy away from the word of Allah. But if here I spoke falsehoods, things pleasing to the nafs, words that go against the verses, people would fill this site to overflowing.
Now do you understand? The game the nafs and Satan play on a person. Yes.
So what does he say? You, you... But you do not like those who give counsel, he said. Those who turn their backs on Allah and His Messenger, (?), claiming Allah's property as if they themselves had created it, and boasting of it, though created in helplessness and in need of Allah's protection, people who defy Allah and turn their backs on Him: for their own selves what a painful punishment they have bought. Although Allah Almighty promises them paradise, although He spreads all blessings beneath their feet, how they become unjust toward their own selves.
People like this, who take no lesson from these events, exist in every age. They rebel against Allah in various ways. Counting rebellion against Allah as an honour for themselves, they think they are heroes. These are people who seek the eternal torment of the hereafter, struggling night and day to obtain it, running after it. Who are they? Those who, with their stardom, as stars of kufr, take pride. (?) showing every part of themselves, presenting themselves as bold, and with this boldness letting themselves be used like rags, and destroying their honour and dignity; and then, to cover the traces of this dishonour, they offer their own bodies to others and have themselves called stars.
Allah protect us. Look at the state of the nafs, look at the game Satan plays, whereas the honourable person: his chastity, that is, his virtue, his honour and dignity, his self-respect, he will hold on to them. Why will he hold on to them? Within the framework of the command of the religion of Islam. Those bound by the religious ruling are people who reach Allah's mercy and who will (?) the world of the hereafter, such people. In this situation, those gripped by an inferiority complex in themselves, that is, those whose hearts are restless and scattered, in order to find a passing peace, outside all religious rulings, live trampling on Allah's limits.
And they buy torment in this world and the eternal torment of the hereafter.
These are people who seek the eternal torment of the hereafter, struggling night and day to obtain it, running after it. In the end, at the moment of death, when they see their lives have ended in a huge fiasco, they are people who fall into ruin. It's gone. A whole life came to a fiasco. That is, it closed with bankruptcy and loss. Had it been just bankruptcy, perhaps he would have got off, breaking even. Finished. But on top of that, a huge loss. That is, (?). Allah protect us. Suffering the eternal punishment of hell. Salih (peace be upon him) is of the people of Thamud. His father's name is Ubayd.
Thamud is among the descendants of Shem, son of Noah (peace be upon him). His father's name is Abir. The sons and grandsons of Thamud are known by the name Thamud. They are called the people of Thamud. They lived between the Hijaz and Damascus, in Wadi al-Qura, in the place called Hijr. After the people of Ad were destroyed, the people of Thamud rebuilt their towns and for a long time lived in abundance. They built magnificent buildings. But in time they too began worshipping idols and spreading corruption on earth. Allah Almighty sent them, from among their most honourable families, Salih (peace be upon him) as a prophet.
Very few people followed the Prophet Salih. Yes.
The others opposed him and called their prophet a liar. Salih (peace be upon him), if you are true to your word, To Salih (peace be upon him): if you are true to your word, if you really are a prophet; they asked that out of this rock a camel as they described come forth. Salih (peace be upon him) prayed, and a camel came out just as they had asked. Except for very few of those who saw this extraordinary miracle, they still did not believe in Salih. The Prophet Salih to his people, to his people: a camel has been sent to you as a miracle. That is, this camel was sent to you as a miracle. It will drink from this well's water on a set day.
And after that you will make use of the water of that well. You will not prevent this camel from drinking water and grazing in the fields. Yes. Then Allah will send you a calamity and you will be struck by it. Although he said this, the people did not heed the warnings of Salih (peace be upon him). They cut the camel's legs and slaughtered it. Before the punishment for this conduct of theirs came, before Allah's punishment came, when Salih (peace be upon him) learned through revelation from Allah Almighty that He would punish his people, he left his people and went toward Palestine. When the Prophet Salih left his people, a violent earthquake, smoke from the sky and a very violent cry occurred.
Struck by this, the people fell to their knees where they were and, in their bewilderment, perished. According to the majority, the people of Thamud slaughtered the camel on a Wednesday. Allah sent them His punishment on Saturday. Three days. Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Yes. Salih (peace be upon him), with the 120 people who followed him, left his homeland in tears. Blessed one. Homeland, his motherland, his fatherland: he left his homeland in tears. He saw smoke rising to the sky and understood that his people had perished. It is said that those who perished were fifteen hundred households. Fifteen hundred households perished.
According to one narration, Salih (peace be upon him) served as a prophet among his people for twenty years. He died in blessed Mecca at the age of fifty-eight. Blessed one. It is also said that he returned to his homeland together with those who believed in him. Later. Yes. These are narrations, of course.
