Translation

Whenever We have sent a Prophet to a nation, (because of their rebellion against their Prophet’s) We have given its inhabitants tribulations and hardships so that they would pray to Us.

Tafsir

When Allah sends a Prophet to a town, surely the people of that town have gone astray. He sends Prophets to reform them. We know that they are the most corrupt polytheists by their rebellion and rebellion against the Prophets sent by Allah (swt) to them. They deny Allah and worship Allah's creatures. These people go even further and go beyond the limits. They create corruption in the earth. They do not like the laws of Allah. They act perversely by making laws according to their own desires.

Allah sends Prophets to such people and invites them to guidance. Some of them are destroyed by Allah because they disbelieve in Allah. Some of them He destroys by their transgression in immorality. He tests some of them with hardship and some of them with abundance, so that they may know their Lord, that they may call upon Allah, that they may know Allah as their Creator. He gives them various calamities so that they may realize that there is no helper or intercessor for them except Allah.

What is said in the video

Surah Al-A'raf, verse 94: Whatever land We sent a prophet to, its people, because they rebelled against the prophet, so that they would beseech and implore Us, We surely pressed with poverty and hardship, it says. That is, when Allah Almighty sends a prophet to a place,

its prophet tells them right away: turn to Allah. These are idols, servants that Allah created. Do not ask from what you made before you, ask from Allah; rule on earth with justice, do not give short measure. Even though he says this, right away, if they don't do these things, He does not destroy them. What does He do? He gives hardship, gives plenty, gives distress. In this way He waits for them to turn to Allah. He waits for them to implore Him. Allah Almighty. As He gave to Pharaoh, for example. We all know it. What afflictions He gave them. What did He do in the end? To that people who would not understand, He knows they won't understand anyway, so that they could not say: 'You should have brought me into want this way too; if only You had done it like this, or like that,' Allah Almighty gives them afflictions in every form they might name.

And finally, after they have made themselves wholly witnesses against themselves, at the very last point He destroys them. Whatever land We sent a prophet to, its people, because they rebelled against the prophet, so that they would beseech and implore Us, We surely pressed with poverty and hardship. If Allah Almighty sends a prophet to a town, surely the people of that town have gone astray.

He sends prophets to set them right. That these are astray, (?) polytheists, we understand from their rebelling against the prophets Allah Almighty sent them and disobeying him. Yes, they deny Allah and worship what Allah created. They dislike Allah's laws, make laws to suit their own nafs, and engage in deviant behaviour. So Allah sends prophets to such peoples and invites them to guidance. Some of them Allah destroys for denying Allah. Some He destroys for transgressing all bounds in immorality. And some He tests with hardship, some with plenty, so that people may know their Lord, implore Allah, know Allah as the Creator, and realize that apart from Allah they have neither a helper nor an intercessor; that is why.

Our Lord puts people to the test in every way. Though He knows what they will do, so that those people do not (?) Allah Almighty or blame Him, every kind of event that could come to their minds He brings about, and makes them witnesses against themselves, those around them and Allah Almighty, and after that He says: look, this is what you were, there is nothing beyond this, and sends him to the place he deserves.
