Tafsir
In the first sense, Allah (swt) states in this verse that the people living on the earth will be tested with scarcity and abundance.
In the second sense, He says that He uproots the evil-doers from the earth and replaces them with other people and multiplies them. That is to say, because of the shirk and rebellion of the people, Allah (swt) gives them misfortunes and makes them suffer hardship. He constricts them with poverty so that they may come to their senses, turn to Allah and ask Him. The second meaning of this is that Allah (swt) uproots them from the earth because of the evil that people have done, the darkness of rebellion and shirk, as well as immorality and transgression. He replaces them with people who worship Allah.
In the test of abundance, those who suffer this scarcity and attain abundance begin to forget Allah, saying that our ancestors also suffered scarcity and abundance like this. In another sense, Allah favors them and they multiply. In return for this favor, they forget Allah, and Allah says to them, "We caught them unawares", which means two things. The first is that He destroys the town for the evil they have done. In the second sense, it is when a person thinks that his life is long and death comes to him suddenly and he is finally caught up in the realm of the hereafter where he will be accountable to Allah.
What is said in the video
Verse 95: Then, changing the evil, the hardship, We brought good and plenty in its place. At last they multiplied. And 'our forefathers too lived through such distress and joy,' they said. So We seized them, without their noticing, all of a sudden, it says. How beautifully it puts it. Then, changing the evil into hardship, in its place We brought good and plenty, it says. That is, in place of the afflictions We had given them, We brought good and plenty. This time they did not understand that either. What do they say? Our forefathers too went through such hard times, it says. Well, We, without their noticing, (?) seized them all of a sudden.
Yes.
In this verse Allah Almighty, in the first sense, declares that people living on earth will be tested with hardship and plenty. What does it say? We already say: sometimes We test you in your wealth, sometimes in your lives.
In the second sense He declares that He uproots the evildoers from the earth and brings other people in their place and multiplies them. That is, because of the shirk and rebellion people commit, Allah Almighty gives these people afflictions and presses them with hardship. So that people come to their senses, turn to Allah and ask of Him, He (?) them with want.
Its second sense: because of the evils people commit, the darkness of rebellion and shirk, and also their immorality and transgression, Allah Almighty uproots them from the earth and brings in their place people who worship Allah. In the test of plenty, those who went through this hardship and reached plenty then say, 'our forefathers too went through hardship and plenty like this,' and begin to forget Allah. In another sense, Allah grants them favour and they multiply. This time, in return for this goodness, they forget Allah. And Allah saying of them 'We seized them all of a sudden, without their noticing' has two meanings. In the first, it is His destroying that town in return for the evils they committed; in the second, it is the person, thinking his life is long, when death comes to him, at last migrating to the realm of the hereafter where he will give account to Allah, being seized.
Yes.
(?) the meaning changes in these.
We need to know this. Surely Allah Almighty, although He brought us into the world, does not leave us unattended.
While we live in the material world, we live as if we were not responsible. As if we are answerable to no one. First of all we need to think about it like this, if we think with sound reason.
In the first sense, we are responsible to ourselves.
In the second sense, we are responsible to our families. In the third sense, well, not sense, third, if we widen it, to the state we are responsible. That is, we are responsible to the laws of the state. So if in this visible world we are responsible to ourselves, our family and the state, are we not responsible to their Creator? So, however much we are responsible to ourselves, will our family leave us unaccountable? Will it not establish its authority over us? Or will it not ask about us? Will it not question us? Come on, if we break any law of the state, will it leave us alone? Will it not investigate us, question us, catch us?
Allah who created them also created these worlds, and through prophets and books made His law known to us. Our disrespect toward them, will He let us get away with it? Yes. We need to think about these things very well.
