It is a duty for me to not say anything but the truth about Allah. I brought a clear proof from your Lord, now leave the sons of Israel with me.”
Tafsir
Hazrat Moses told Pharaoh that I do not recognize any deity other than Allah, I am only obliged to introduce the one and only Allah to the people. It is an obligation upon me not to call any other god but Him.
Moses said, "I have brought you a clear proof from your Lord, that is, I have come with miracles to prove to you the existence of Allah, and now that you know that there is no other God but Allah, he gave up tormenting the Children of Israel and said, 'Leave them with me.
The Children of Israel had previously resided in Palestine. When Hadrat Yusuf 'alaihis-salâm' became the treasury official in Egypt, his father, Prophet Ya'qub, and his sons migrated to Egypt to join Hadrat Yusuf. Then the Pharaohs began to use the Children of Israel in backward and heavy services. They also subjected them to many cruelties and tortures. Hazrat Moses, who came as a Prophet from among the Children of Israel, offered to Pharaoh to rescue his people from the hands of Pharaoh with the permission of Allah and bring them back to Palestine.
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 105. "Concerning Allah, not to say anything but the truth is a duty upon me," it says. Before Pharaoh, what does Moses say? "It is a duty upon me not to say anything about Allah but the truth." That is, I am not lying, he says. I: not to say anything other than the truth about Allah, not to say, not to say is a duty upon me. I have brought you clear proof from your Lord. So let the Children of Israel go with me, he says. What was his clear proof? His hand turning as if white, when he drew it from his bosom, shining like light; the staff in his hand turning into a dragon and swallowing the ropes of the sorcerers there; blood, locusts, drought; Allah Almighty sending all the calamities upon that Pharaoh; and each time Pharaoh said, "I have believed in your Lord, lift this from us," then again, when those calamities were lifted from them, he would go back to his former state, (?), and carry on with his denial.
Yes. (?) to Pharaoh: Apart from Allah, no god as true do I recognize. Other than Allah. That is, you too are a human He created. How can you be a god? Earlier I told a (?) story. While Pharaoh is sitting inside, the accursed one knocks at the door. The accursed one. Pharaoh calls from inside, "Who is it?" he says. The accursed one calls to Pharaoh from outside. From outside the door. "What kind of god are you?" he says. "You didn't recognize who came to your door." "Who are you?" he says. "Come on in," he says. And Satan says: for a god like you, one like me as (?) adviser, how well it suits, he says.
The next day he will consult him. Satan will show him the way. Yes.
And only that one Allah: with making Allah known to people I am charged, he says. Not to call anyone but Him a god is a duty upon me, he says. I always speak the truth. And these truths, he says, are what my Lord has made known to me, he says. Yes, I do not worship anyone but Allah as a god, and this, he says, is a duty upon me. Moses: I have brought you clear proof from your Lord: miracles. That is, I have come with miracles that will prove Allah's existence to you. So, although you know there is no god besides Allah, give up tormenting the Children of Israel and let them go with me, he said. How was he tormenting the Children of Israel?
Bravo! He was working them in the hardest jobs. The hardest jobs. Like slaves. All the dirty work, (?) work, road work; he made them do it all. And the wage they received was so little it could not fill their stomachs. Isn't this torture? Not even a slave works this much. A slave. Yes. The Children of Israel used to live in Palestine before. When Joseph (peace be upon him) became treasury official in Egypt, his father, the prophet Jacob, and his sons set out and migrated to Joseph in Egypt. As you know, his brothers throw Joseph into a well at a young age. Then a caravan passing by takes him, brings him to Egypt as a slave and sells him. And the vizier buys him.
The vizier adopts him. Certain things happen to him; he lies in prison. Now, those parts are long, of course. We all know this. In this situation, since his father knew Joseph would become a prophet, and since Allah was behind him, he does not believe he has died. His brothers and the family members say: You've gone senile. Gone senile. Give up on Joseph now. Although they say this, he says: You do not know what I know. Yes. And finally, when the drought began, he becomes the treasuries, head of the treasury there; well, upon the dream they make him overseer of that place's treasuries. He recognizes his brothers.
When they come to get provisions, he keeps Benjamin with him and explains the situation to him. When Jacob (peace be upon him) sees that Benjamin has not come back either, he tells his sons: Go and look for them. And so when they come again, to get provisions, Joseph (peace be upon him) explains the situation to his brothers. His brothers, ashamed, at once send a messenger to their father. And their father says: Didn't I tell you? He is alive. You do not know what I know. Together with his sons they (?) to Egypt.
Because they are all reunited with one another, they prostrate to Allah. So the dream that Joseph had seen thus (?).
Yes, the Children of Israel used to live in Palestine before. When Joseph (peace be upon him) became treasury official in Egypt, his father, the prophet Jacob, and his sons set out and migrated to Joseph in Egypt. Later the Pharaohs began to use the Children of Israel in menial and heavy labour. They also inflicted much oppression and torture on them. Moses, who came as a prophet from among the Children of Israel, in order to rescue his people from Pharaoh's hand by Allah's leave and bring them back again to Palestine, made a proposal to Pharaoh, well, to Pharaoh. What did he say? Let the Children of Israel go with me.
Yes, I have shown you so many miracles, and if amid these miracles you still, still do not believe in Allah, there is nothing we can do for you. Then at least, apart from all these miracles, let this people go with me, he says. Yes.
