Tafsir
Then Pharaoh, who thought of his throne and himself, for his glory and fame, because he would have magicians under his command who would provide him with power, telling them that he would give them what the magicians wanted, and also saying that they would be among my relatives; By feeding them in the palace, he thinks to establish tyranny over his people by taking advantage of the magical power of the magicians. His aim was to make himself look great, to strengthen his rule and to consolidate his claim of divinity. In this respect he was making concessions to the magicians.

Pharaoh said: Yes, and you will surely be among those close to me. Said it to whom? To the sorcerers.
The sorcerers, the sorcerers said: If we win, is there for us a reward in your presence?
