Tafsir
Hazrat Moses addressed his people: O my people! When Pharaoh's men were torturing you with the worst of tortures, killing your sons and leaving your women alive, and using you for the hardest labor, Allah had mercy on you and brought you to salvation. In this you are being put to a great test by your Lord, that He may make you witnesses of your deeds.
Allah (swt) has sent Prophets to this people the most, because Allah (swt) knew that the Jews and the Jewish generations would dispute about the Verses of Allah and rebel against Allah (swt) in return for all the blessings of Allah (swt). Among the people, this tribe has the most enemies of Allah on earth. That is why Allah (swt) has entrusted them with the truth on earth, so that in the Hereafter they will have no questions to ask Allah (swt). Because of their rebellion against Allah, they are also cruel to their own souls.
Allah (swt) gave this people His clear miracles and blessings, but their rebellion against Allah (swt) was due to their hatred and resentment against Allah (swt). These feelings of hatred and hatred come from their pride, egoism, grandeur and arrogance. The occurrence of these traits is due to the fact that Allah (swt) gave man his soul and created him close to Himself and because of these traits in the soul. In the address (Elestu bi Rabbikum), when man sees his Lord and hesitates because he was created close to Him, it is because of the pride and arrogance in his soul that he does not recognize Him. It is because of these traits that this tribe was the most rebellious against Allah (swt) for all of His blessings that they were cursed by Allah (swt) on earth. In this respect, they are a people who are the scourge of the earth.
Instead of this people's faith and worship towards Allah and their ancestors who had received such mercy and such blessings, they increased their hatred against Allah.
It is a human duty for people to thank each other for the favors done to them. A person who receives a favor wishes that if he had the opportunity, he would do a favor to the person who did him a favor. Allah, on the other hand, does not ask us to do favors for Him. Because He does not need us to do Him favors. He commands us to do good to ourselves by recognizing God through worship.
What is said in the video
In this situation, so that Moses would explain the oneness of Allah to that people of Israel, it says: Remember that We saved you from the worst of torture inflicted on you by Pharaoh's men. They were killing your sons and letting your women live. In that there was a great trial for you from your Lord, it says. You went through a great trial. So how quickly you forgot all this, and in your old error, those creatures Allah placed at your command you exalted by your own reckoning and set about worshipping them, he says. Yes. Moses, addressing his people: O my people, while Pharaoh's men were inflicting on you the worst of tortures, killing your sons and letting your women live, while they used you for the hardest labour, Allah had mercy on you and brought you to salvation.
In this matter, so that Allah may make you witnesses to what you do to yourselves, there is from your Lord a great trial for you. You are in a great trial, he says. Come now, you are rid of those torments and have reached your Lord's abundant blessings. Allah Almighty does not wish injustice upon His creatures. So will you forget your Lord who brought you to peace, and shape the creatures our Lord created and, as god, (?)? That is, will you take gods for yourselves? he says. In that case you will have wronged your own selves, and Allah Almighty will show you to yourselves. That is, He makes you witnesses to what you yourselves have done.
Because, despite so many blessings of Allah, the Jews and the Jewish generations would fall into dispute about Allah and Allah's verses and would rebel against Allah, and Allah Almighty knew this, Allah Almighty sent prophets to this people more than to any other. Among people on earth, the one that strives most as an enemy of Allah is this people. That Allah Almighty entrusted the truth to them on earth is so that in the world of the hereafter these people have no question left to ask Allah. Because they rebel against Allah, they are also people who wrong their own selves. Yes, today some people, let's not say some, rather the Jews, stand in front of the Wailing Wall.
What (?) they utter, how they blame Allah, how, giving their own nafs its share, they hurl insults at Allah. There they supposedly pray. And they weep too. The Wailing Wall. Some blockheads among us also follow them, and they too go there and weep at the wailing walls. Do you know the reason? The reason is their envy of them, their rebellion at root against Allah, their admiration for the world; because they do not give up their fame and glory, their pride and arrogance. At those wailing walls, deceived by the regard shown to them, deceived by the gilded words spoken to them, he turns his back on Allah.
Relying on the gilded words someone will say to him, he goes, abandons his religion and wrongs his own self. Can this be called reason? Can such a person be called a sensible person? Yes.
Now, although Allah Almighty gave this people clear miracles and blessings, their rebelling against Allah comes from their grudge and hatred toward Allah. These feelings of grudge and hatred stem from their pride, egotism, self-importance and arrogance. These traits, in turn, arise because Allah Almighty gave man of His spirit and created him close to Himself, and from these traits found in the spirit. So, at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", man saw his Lord, and his falling, despite being created close to Him, into hesitation came from the pride and arrogance in his spirit, from his not recognising Him.
So because this people, with these traits, despite so many blessings of Allah Almighty, is the people that rebelled most against Allah, it has been cursed by Allah Almighty on earth as well. In this respect it is a people that causes strife on earth.
In return for the blessings granted to their ancestors, who attained such mercy and so many favours, and to themselves, instead of this people's faith in and worship of Allah Almighty increasing, they increase their grudge. For people to thank one another for the kindness done to them is a human duty. A person who receives kindness wishes, regarding the one who was kind to him, that he might get a chance to do a kindness in return for the one who was kind to him. But Allah does not ask us to do Him good. Because He has no need to receive good. Through our knowing Allah by worship, He commands that good be done to ourselves.
To ourselves. The good that comes through the worship we do is for ourselves. Not for anyone else. Allah has no need of good, nor does Allah need prayer. Everything is for us. The worship we perform, the prayers we make, are so that we may earn our Lord's mercy. Yes.
