Al-A'raf 143: When Moses came at the time We determined and when his Lord spoke with him, he said; “Oh My Dear Lord! Show (Yourself), so that I can see you.” (Allah said); “You cannot see Me, but look at this mountain; if this mountain can stand in its place, you will see Me as well.” When his Lord manifested upon the mountain, it had shattered; and Moses fainted. When he woke up, he said; “I exalt You above all imperfection, I have repented to You. I am the first of the believers.”

Tafsir
When the time that Allah (swt) had appointed for Moses arrived, Moses began to pray to Allah (swt). He talks to his Lord. Meanwhile, he forgets that he is in the world.
(To elaborate a little here, as we have explained in previous lessons and verses, when Allah (swt) wills that His Essence be recognized, He creates the light of Hazrat Muhammad (pbuh) from His light. Then He gives him his spirit. Hadrat Muhammad (SAW) was the first to be created. In this respect, he is the first of the created beings. The souls of other Prophets were also created from the soul of the Holy Prophet. In this respect, the Prophets are the first of Islam. From the souls of these Prophets, He created the souls of their tribes. Even before the souls of the tribes were created, Allah made a covenant with these Prophets. During this covenant, each soul saw its Lord). Hazrat Musa thought that he was in the presence of his Lord in the Hereafter and wanted to see the Lord he had seen there. When Allah (swt) says to Moses, "You cannot see me here," He means the worldly realm. In the realm of property, it is not possible for people to see Allah (swt) in the guise of the body. That is why he said that you cannot see me here.
But look at the mountain opposite, if it stays in its place, you will see me too. He manifested to the mountain and it shattered into pieces. Then Hazrat Musa fainted from the horror of this event. When he came to his senses, he remembered that he was in the world, came to his senses and said: He says, 'O Allah, I sanctify You from all deficient attributes, I have repented to You, forgive me, I am the first of the believers.
Saying, "I am the first of the believers" means that Allah (swt) created the souls of all the Prophets from the soul of the Prophet (s.a.w.). In this respect, since the Prophets were the first to be created from the soul of the Prophet (s.a.w.), they say I am the first of Islam or I am the first of the believers.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, verse 143: When Moses, at the time We appointed, came to Tur and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord, show Yourself to me, that I may see You. Now many people are mistaken here, thinking Allah cannot be seen. And of course Allah Almighty is not seen; He is not seen with these eyes. Why is He not seen? Because there is no deficiency in Allah's word. How so? He sent us to an unseen world in which His Being is not seen. When we say His Being is not seen: it is seen, cannot grasp; those eyes grasp, cannot see. Yet He encompasses and grasps all eyes. That is, He sees and grasps. Now, stretching this verse according to their own minds, they say Allah cannot be seen.
Yet because he wanted to see Allah Almighty with these eyes, that He will not be seen with these eyes: Allah Almighty shattering Tur to pieces, Moses falling down unconscious and saying "I declare You free of deficient attributes"; this points to His not being seen with these eyes; it is the proof. Now a question may come to your mind. Both "sees, cannot grasp" and "grasps, cannot see". Yet when He appears, it is shattered even more. When it says this, with that (?) attribute, Allah Almighty, in verse 143: When Moses, at the time We appointed, came to Tur and his Lord spoke to him, he said: My Lord, show Yourself to me, that I may see You.
Yes, now we've recalled our topic too.
There is no deficiency in Allah Almighty's word. No eye can encompass and grasp Him. So we thereby prove, with Allah's verses, that we live in an unseen world, that within this world we believe in the unseen; and Allah Almighty, by the faithfulness of His word, with the verse "who is truer to his word than Allah?", even if we see (?), even if we see, since with these eyes we are deprived of perception, we will have worshipped our Lord in an unseen world, worshipped our Lord unseen. But there, on Mount Tur, when he wanted to see with these very eyes, and to see His Being at that, then he sees Tur move from its place and break to pieces, and they declare You free of deficiency. He learns the truth of the matter, Moses (peace be upon him).
What does He say? His Lord: You cannot see Me here. Of course. Look what He says: you cannot see Me here. That is, you cannot see Me in this world. That is, not just on Tur. You cannot see Me here. Yes. But look at that mountain. If it can stay in its place, you too will see Me, He said. You too will see Me. Allah Almighty, by His power, breaks that mountain to pieces. He said. When his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He broke it to pieces. And Moses fell unconscious. When he came to, he said: I declare You free of deficient attributes. I have turned to You in repentance. I am the first of the believers, he said.
Yes.
Allah Almighty's uh, to people, now, if it is judged by one verse, if it is judged that way, people say Allah cannot be seen. And so they say that even in the hereafter Allah Almighty will not be seen, or, you know, like a sun or like a moon or so, or like an image; things like that, they say. They talk according to this, based on this. Yet our Lord's manifestations, the attributes of His Being, His giving of His spirit, and His making a covenant at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", the (?) verses: they set aside many verses and, relying only on this one, try to reach a verdict. For example, when we say they set aside many verses, yes, here,
Yes. Yes.
In Surah As-Sajdah, verse 12, look what Allah Almighty says here. The time when the sinners will hang their heads before their Lord: Our Lord, we have seen, we have heard; now send us back to the world and we will do good deeds; now we believe with certainty; if only you could see the time when they will say this, it says. Now there are many more verses like this one. Where did they hide these, that they said Allah cannot be seen based on this verse? Based on that one alone. It's because it suits them that way. Yes.
The verses of Allah Almighty do not contradict one another.
Here, for these places, knowledge is needed. That is, this knowledge is needed. That's why we'll talk about it a little.
Based on a single verse, if you judge it briefly in this way, if you judge it partially and briefly, then how do you understand it? Allah is not seen in this world. Fine. But in other verses: sees, encompasses, cannot grasp. Grasps and cannot encompass. That is, cannot see. The verses: sees, cannot grasp; grasps, cannot see. These: in many verses such as "we have seen, we have heard" in Surah As-Sajdah's (?), being granted manifestations, Allah Almighty giving man of His spirit, creating him as a part, adorning people with the attributes of His Being; among these verses, this verse, if we cannot grasp the verse here, we pass over this place with a bare sword, just like that.
So the meaning here is supported by the other verses of Allah Almighty. You cannot see Me here. Why? He has sent us to a hidden world. A hidden world. All right, let's say it's a hidden world, one cannot see; and for His sake the mountains could not endure. The mountains (?). Then how would you see Him with this eye? Even if you cannot grasp Him, how would you see Him? Now this, this too is a very interesting matter. We will put it like this. In many verses, Allah Almighty, His Being, as we said before, from a part of it He created the Beloved of the Almighty, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), our master.
From a part of it. From that part, billions of people He created, created their spirits. Allah Almighty, in His verse, that Being of His, that spirit of His, in parts too, sends as messengers. So, as with Mary, to whom He sent as messengers, that Being (?) as it was seen by the lady, as it was seen by our mother Mary, let's say, let's not say lady, rather as it was seen by our mother Mary, let me say, on other certain nights; on the Night of Power the angels and the Spirit descend to earth, it says; as it was seen by people, with His messengers, with a (?) of His Being, this, people will say: look, He broke Allah into pieces, they will say.
He divided into parts, divided His Being into messengers. Are you not a part of His Being? Do billions of people not come into the world as a part of His Being and remember their Lord? Does He not make His Being prostrate to His Being? But now don't turn us toward wahdat al-wujud. Wahdat al-wujud is something else. We are created beings. We were created as a part from Allah. And with the attribute of His Being our Lord created us close to Himself and made us His addressees. Now, these are deep matters. We're closing these parts now. We're closing them because they need a root. They need a foundation.
Without this foundation, however much people may (?) these, when we explain them, afterwards, again lacking a foundation, they can get stuck on some ulterior ideas. So, as we usually go over it in the verse: the light of His divine Being, no being can withstand. His light, of His Being. Where? In the earthly world, though. In the earthly world. If no matter had been able to withstand the light of His Being, He created Adam from clay too. That clay too would have destroyed that light. Because He created him with His own hands. "What I created with My two hands", He says. Let me put it this way, let me give the verse's wording, so that some do not say, look, look, Allah with His hands, that is, He created Adam with His hands.
"To the one I created with My two hands," He says to you, "what kept you from prostrating, who, what?" He says. He asks Satan. Allah Almighty. So it means these mountains too can withstand His light, and the hills too. In a second sense, Allah Almighty, since it is a hidden world, that His light, His light, of His light or His real being, that thing of it, we'll just call it His light, the mountains did not withstand. In short, let's say this. Allah Almighty, so as not to allow deficiency in His word, being free of deficient attributes, the non-appearance of His Being, His not being seen with these eyes, to prove that, Allah Almighty, by shattering a mountain in this way: look, I do not fit into these worlds, or I do not present my word to people as deficient.
"He both said an unseen world and, look, here He was seen": that sort of thing. So Allah Almighty, purely to prove His word, by shattering the mountain, by shattering that mountain, signals that He cannot be seen here. Otherwise, Allah Almighty created these worlds, His Being did. If these worlds could not withstand the light of His Being, they would have vanished anyway. They would have vanished. Yes. One must know these things this way.
In these verses it slips a little into esoteric matters, but so that it is understood better, we explain a bit around it. So that it is understood better. Because in many verses, too, Allah Almighty: that people will come before Him, and that, as messengers, Allah Almighty His Being everywhere, whenever He wills, wherever He wills (?). Now Allah Almighty is hidden in His Being. For Him nothing is hidden or concealed. He sees and watches all these worlds at once.
He can also send His spirit as messengers wherever He wants, whenever He wants, by the billions. And He can gather them again in His Being too. Just as He created people from His spirit and, giving bodies from His spirit, billions He created, Allah Almighty is an ocean of knowledge; He is capable of everything. In that case, the manifestation of His Being to the world, that mountain's shattering, according to the word He gave, according to the word Allah Almighty gave: I sent you to an unseen world, a world where My Being is not seen. So if I were to show you My Being: look, here it appeared to Moses, it did not appear to so-and-so; he is higher than him; or, despite saying "We sent you to (?)", sending to Moses here would mean He had contradicted His word; for that reason, by shattering the mountain there, He says: you cannot see Me here.
Here, in this way, you cannot see Me. And Moses repents. Yes. So it is not that Allah is invisible; He is seen. Allah is seen. Yes.
We read the verse again from the beginning. When Moses came to Tur at the time We appointed and his Lord spoke to him: My Lord, show Yourself to me, that I may see You, he said. His Lord: You cannot see Me here. How beautifully He says it: you cannot see Me here. But look at that mountain; if it can stay in its place, you too will see Me, He said. When his Lord manifested Himself to the mountain, He shattered it to pieces. And Moses fell unconscious. When he came to, he said: I declare You free of deficient attributes. I have turned to You in repentance. I am the first of the believers, he says.
Yes. When the time Allah Almighty appointed for Moses comes, Moses begins intimate prayer with Allah Almighty. That is, he begins to talk. He talks with his Lord. Meanwhile he forgets he is in this world. If we open up the details here a little, as in earlier lessons and verses we explained, when Allah Almighty willed His Being to be known, from His light He created the light of Muhammad, our master. Then He gives him of His spirit. The first created is Muhammad, our master. In this respect he is the first of the created. And from the Prophet's spirit, the spirits of the other prophets were created.
In this respect the prophets are the first of Islam. And from these prophets' spirits the spirits of the peoples were created. Before the peoples' spirits were even created, Allah made a covenant with these prophets. During this covenant, every spirit saw its Lord. So Moses, imagining himself in the hereafter in his Lord's presence, wishes to see once more the Lord he had seen there. Allah Almighty's saying to Moses "you cannot see Me here" means the earthly world. In the (?) world, for people, within their bodily part and outwardly, to see Allah Almighty is not possible. That is why He said: you cannot see Me here.
But look at the mountain opposite; if it stays in its place, you too will see Me, He says; He manifests Himself to the mountain and the mountain breaks to pieces. Then Moses, from the terror of this event, falls down unconscious. (?) he remembers he is in this world, comes to his senses and says: My God, I declare You free of deficient attributes. I have turned to You in repentance. Forgive me. I am the first of the believers, he says. His saying "I am the first of people, of the believers": Allah Almighty created all the prophets' spirits from the spirit of the Prophet (peace be upon him). So, since the prophets, from the spirit of the Prophet (peace be upon him), were the first created, he said: I am the first of Islam and I am the first of the believers. Yes.
And the essence of it, inwardly, is as I explained a moment ago. So that Allah Almighty would not contradict His word: We have sent you to a hidden world. In this hidden world you cannot see Me. As a show of intimidation, as if to frighten. Look, even these mountains cannot withstand My light. So you cannot see Me here. I do not (?) my word, my word. Since you cannot see Me here, since you cannot, there is a time for it. That is, when the decree of the Truth comes to pass, in the hereafter, surely, together with His righteous servants, Allah Almighty will welcome them with a smiling face. In the hereafter.
Yes.
