Al-A'raf 146: Those who show arrogance on earth unjustly are those who distance themselves from Our verses. They would not believe even if they would see all miracles. When they see the right path, they don’t take it as a path. But when they see the path of transgression, they immediately go astray towards it. This is because they deny Our verses and because they are ignorant about them.

Translation

Those who show arrogance on earth unjustly are those who distance themselves from Our verses. They would not believe even if they would see all miracles. When they see the right path, they don’t take it as a path. But when they see the path of transgression, they immediately go astray towards it. This is because they deny Our verses and because they are ignorant about them.

Tafsir

Those who disbelieve in Allah, those who do not believe in the Hereafter, they have become proud and arrogant because they see greatness in themselves. They have denied the Verses of Allah in their pride.

All created human beings are created in helplessness. They were created in need of Allah, in need of Allah's creations, because they were created lacking in intellect. Those who turn their backs on Allah, forgetting this condition of theirs, those who, in their helplessness, without any evidence, buy the torment of the Hereafter in exchange for the benefits of this world, are the people who are the losers. Those who are heedless of Allah's commands, those who turn away from the Verses of Allah, become arrogant and boastful while they live in the world.

These people, these people of pride and greatness, would not believe even if they saw all the miracles of Allah. Just as Prophet Moses and the other Prophets were shown many miracles by Allah in truth, but the people of disbelief said to the Prophets, "These are great magicians. They denied the Prophets even though Allah proved His existence with miracles. Since people with the same mindset and the same idea will continue until the Day of Resurrection, Allah (swt) introduces such people to the people of faith and says that even if they see all the miracles of Allah, they will not believe.

(If they see the right path, they do not follow it) because they are arrogant and proud, and they cannot deal with justice. They do not compromise with their own interests and the pleasures of their ego.

(If they see the way of transgression, they immediately turn to it) because these people are egoistic, and they like the way of transgression that is not in accordance with the command of Allah (swt), so they immediately adopt it. Their deviation is because they are far from the truth, they reject the truth, they deny the Verses of Allah, and they are ignorant of them. Those who turn their backs on Allah's Verses against the truth and the truth, these are the ones who have had their hearts sealed by Allah. They do not want to benefit from the light of Allah. Wherever Allah manifests His Light to such people, they try to extinguish that Light and want to bring darkness and darkness in its place. They think they are doing a good deed. These are the people who are unconscious and have bought the torment of the Hereafter.

What is said in the video

146. verse, a verse that has been explained wrongly. On the earth... first let us read the thing. How the wrong verse was explained, there, (?) went wrong, let us take a look at it. Now, 146. Those who are arrogant on the earth without right I will turn away from Our verses. I will turn them away from My verses, says Allah Almighty. Those who are arrogant on the earth without right, I will turn away from My verses.

Is there anyone who is never arrogant without right? All of us, off you go, out of Istanbul, from (?) Allah Almighty has turned away. Well, we were created deficient, and we do act arrogant without right, become proud sometimes. Do these words befit Allah? What does it say? Those who are arrogant on the earth without right, I will turn away from His verses. Even if they saw all the miracles, they would not believe. If they saw the right path, they would not take it as a path. They would not take it as a path. But if they saw the path of transgression, they would turn to it at once. This condition arises from their denying Our verses and being heedless of them, it says.

The end parts are correct, of course. The end parts are correct. But now, with (?), Allah Almighty anyway, since He knows them, says it this way. That is, He says it about the disbelievers. (?), the verse needs to be explained properly. What do we say? Those who are arrogant on the earth without right are those who turn away from Our verses. Who are they? Those who turn away from the verses. It is not that Allah turns them away from the verses. They themselves turn away from the verses. This is the real main artery.

Here they ascribe attributes to Allah Almighty. Those who are arrogant on the earth without right are those who turn away from Our verses. Whereas here, what does it say? Those who are arrogant on the earth without right, I will turn away from My verses, it says. Allah turns no one away from His verse. No one. Rather, people, with their partial free will, with the decisions they make, with their own judgments, either turn to Allah or move away from Allah. They,

even if they saw all the miracles... who are they? Those who turn away from the verses. Even if they saw all the miracles, they would not believe. If they saw the right path, they would not take it as a path. Why? Because it does not suit the whims of the nafs. It does not suit the whims of his nafs. But if they saw the path of transgression, they would turn to it at once. Because the nafs desires that.

Moreover, Satan tempts. The nafs likes it.

This condition arises from their denying Our verses. Look, now, now we have come to the right one. That is, the one above and the (?) below agree with each other. How do they agree? Those who are arrogant on the earth without right are those who turn away from Our verses. And below, what does it say? This condition arises from their denying Our verses — he denies, so he will turn away anyway — and from their being heedless of them. Now, what does it say here? Those who are arrogant on the earth without right, I will turn away from Our verses, it says. And below, what does it say? This condition arises from their denying Our verses and from their being heedless of them, it says.

Well, if You turn them away, if Allah Almighty turns them away from His verses, well, there: how should I know, You didn't tell me, or You didn't make me follow it, You turned me away. Had You treated me with pardon and forgiveness like Your other servants... I was created deficient anyway. When You turned me away completely, I went away completely, he would say. He would say this. A human would say this. Allah is free of deficient attributes. No one can ascribe deficiency to Him. So one must pay great attention to the words. To the words. They are those who turn away from Our verses. This condition of theirs, it says, is from their denying Our verses.

That is why they turned away anyway. Yes. Those who deny Allah, who do not believe in the hereafter, since they see a greatness in themselves, have fallen into pride and arrogance. With the self-aggrandizement in them, they have denied Allah's verses. Where are they arrogant? In that address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm", Allah Almighty, before them in human form, because they saw Him so, they did not accept Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty, as Allah; they denied. Because they were expecting the Lord of their own imagination, toward the One before them who created them, Allah Almighty, out of their arrogance and pride, out of that grandeur of the nafs, on Allah they turned their backs.

So even if Allah sends verses, in the world too, in the same state, they set themselves against Allah Almighty, against His verses. They do not believe.

So those who are arrogant on the earth without right are those who turn away from Our verses. Even if they saw all the miracles, they would not believe. If they saw the right path, they would not take it as a path. But it is from their denying Our verses and being heedless of them that this arises, it says. Those who deny Allah, those who do not believe in the hereafter, since they see in themselves a greatness, have fallen into pride and arrogance. With the greatness in them, they have denied Allah's verses. They had already denied at the very beginning. My Beloved, He says, pay no heed to their calling you a liar; back then they betrayed Me too, that is, they did not recognize Me as Lord, even though I created them, He says.

All created people have been created in helplessness. Since they were created deficient in reason, needing what Allah created, all beings have been created dependent on Allah. Those who, forgetting this condition of theirs, turn their backs on Allah, who in their helplessness, though they have no proof whatsoever in their hands, for transient worldly gains senselessly buy the punishment of the hereafter, these are people who suffer loss. That is, those inclining to what Allah created, loving what Allah created more than Allah, devoting themselves to this transient worldly life, thinking everything is here, and concluding that it will end here, who do not believe in the hereafter, who are in doubt, the hereafter for the world in exchange. Well, we'll say, those who sell, those who sell the hereafter in exchange for worldly goods, and who deify what Allah created and worship it, people without reason and foolish.

for (?) gains, those who senselessly (?) the punishment of the hereafter, these are people who suffer loss. So those who are heedless of Allah's commands, who turn their backs on Allah's verses, while living in this world, act superior and boast.

These people, those in this pride and grandeur, even if they saw all of Allah's miracles, would not believe. Just as Moses and the other prophets truly showed many miracles from Allah, and yet, despite that, the people of disbelief said to the prophets: these are great (?). Although Allah openly proved His existence with miracles, they denied. Since people of the same mindset and the same opinion will go on until the Day of Judgment, Allah Almighty, introducing such people to the people of faith, with "even if these saw all of Allah's miracles, they would not believe", He says. Because that is in their nature; in their intention there is denial of Allah.

If they saw the right path, they would not take it as a path. Because these, in arrogance and pride, do not turn to the truth and conduct affairs with justice. From their own interests and what their nafs enjoys, they make no concession.

If they see the path of transgression, they turn to it at once. Because these people act by their nafs, and since the deviant paths outside Allah Almighty's command please them, they at once adopt those paths. This deviant state of theirs, since they stayed far from the truth, turning their backs on realities, from denying Allah's verses and being heedless of them it arises. Those who, against truth and realities, turn their backs on Allah's verses, these have caused their hearts to be sealed by Allah. These do not want to benefit from Allah's light. Wherever Allah manifests His light to such people, they set out to extinguish that light and want to bring (?) and darkness in its place.

In their own view, they think they are doing good work. So these are senseless people who buy the punishment of the hereafter. Yes.
