Translation

When they regretted what they had done, and when they saw that they truly went astray, they said; “If our Lord does not have pity on us and if Allah does not forgive us, we will surely be among those who lose.”

Tafsir

After Moses came down from the Tour, he came to his people and could not believe what he saw. He sees that his people have made a golden calf and are worshipping it. His people, seeing Moses, realized that they were in misguidance and expressed their regret. If our Lord does not have mercy on us and forgive us, we will surely be among the losers, and they abandoned the calf they worshipped.

What is said in the video

Let them tell me whether there is sound and picture. When he came with the command, when he came with the tablets, he sees that they are worshipping a calf. In return for all the blessings of Allah Almighty, they are ungrateful. They return to their old errant ways. And Moses seizes Aaron by the beard. 'O son of my mother, why did you not stop them?' he says. And Aaron: 'Whatever I said, they would have stoned me too. I barely saved my life from them,' he says. Thereupon Moses, addressing his people, when he told them of their straying, they regret it. They throw away the calf and say, 'If our Lord does not forgive us, we will truly be among the losers.' They express their regret.

After Moses came down from Tur, he comes to his people and cannot believe what he sees. He truly cannot believe it. After so many miracles, after so much persecution, Allah Almighty guiding them, destroying Pharaoh entirely — if in the face of that they still worship a calf, of course he cannot believe what he sees of their deviance. And he sees that his people have made a calf of gold and are worshipping it. Suddenly Moses grows furious. His people, seeing Moses, admit that they are in error and express their regret. 'If our Lord does not have mercy on us and does not forgive us, we will surely be among the losers,' they say.

They (?) the calf they worshipped. Yes.
