For those who adopted the calf (as a deity), verily, wrath and despicableness from their Lord will reach them. This is how We punish slanderers.
Tafsir
Those who take the calf as a god will surely receive wrath from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world. This is how We punish the slanderers: This shows that Allah will not destroy this people. Because Allah, Who created this world with a program, has programmed the events that will take place until the Day of Resurrection. Therefore, if Allah's speech had been according to the events there, Allah would have been characterized and acted according to the situation of the people. Indeed, we will mention them in the verses to come. Here, Allah shows that a calamity came upon these people and the calamity was lifted with the prayer of Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm', Allah punished them and they were imprisoned in the Sinai peninsula, they died there, and they are still living in our time as the continuation of the same people who ascribe partners to Allah, with the verse that says, "In the life of the world, a lowliness will reach them".
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, we have come to verse 152. 'Those who took the calf as a god,' it says, 'them will surely reach wrath from their Lord and humiliation in the life of this world. Thus do We punish the slanderers,' it says. May Allah protect us. Slandering Allah Almighty, bearing a grudge against Allah Almighty, ascribing attributes to Him, attributing to Allah, though He did not say them, certain unwanted words, accusing Him: slandering Allah Almighty in such ways, is what it means. In a hadith the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: a time will come. 'They will say Allah and His Messenger said this, though Allah and His Messenger did not say it,' he says.
These are the people who slander Allah Almighty. For example, in our time there are words deliberately slipped in as hadith, in fact not hadith, words that ascribe attributes to Allah and His Messenger. When we sort out these words, these people who know nothing of hadith, who do not understand hadith, stand up against us. 'This man denies the hadiths,' they say. Whereas instead of saying that, instead of saying this man denies the hadiths, could he not put it like this? 'This man — he knows hadith, after all — denies this hadith, but is what he says really right or not? Let us examine it, let us think about it' — if he said that, if he reflected on it a little, developed himself intellectually — would that not be better?
But although in religion there is no envy and jealousy, people, seeing themselves in religion as privileged, seeing themselves as privileged in religion, because they do not want to see anyone but themselves, even if one speaks the truth, they immediately pin labels on him. Labels.
So the person who pins on that label is a person who has not yet reformed his nafs. A person who has not reformed his nafs is no good to himself, let alone to those around him. Yes. However right a person may be. However hostile a person may be toward someone. If that person speaks rightly, he must acknowledge that his enemy is right. This is what Islam is. This is the straight path. If he speaks truly to that enemy and sees him as right, and acknowledges him, believe me, through Islamic brotherhood his enmity toward you also disappears, and you go about at peace. Islam goes about at peace. It moves away from a (?).
But we live very far from these feelings and are deprived of them. Always using words that will satisfy our nafs, right or wrong, even though we know the right, labelling the other person, in our anger we try to cast falsehood upon the truth. May Allah protect us from such people.
Yes. Those who took the calf as a god — surely wrath from their Lord. Wrath. No one can endure Allah's wrath. May Allah protect us from such wrath. And humiliation in the life of this world will reach them. That is, they will be abased and disgraced. Thus do We punish the slanderers, it says. Yes. Allah Almighty: to those who took this calf as a god, surely wrath from their Lord, and in the life of this world humiliation will reach them. His saying 'Thus do We punish the slanderers' shows that Allah Almighty will not destroy this people. He will not destroy them. Why? Because (?) they have their prophet.
Where the prophets are, it is safe. If (?) the prophet had said, 'You, get out of there,' then that people would have been destroyed. Yes. Indeed, a people He will destroy — Allah Almighty tells His prophets and those who believe in them, 'Come, you go out from there,' and destroys the others, the others.
Because
Allah, who created this universe with a program, has preset the events until the Day of Judgement in a program. So if Allah's word had been according to the events there, Allah too would be ascribed attributes, would have acted according to people's situation. (?) we will talk about it in the coming verses. The coming of a calamity and, through the prayer of Moses (peace be upon him), the lifting of the calamity; Allah Almighty punishing them, their remaining condemned in the Sinai Peninsula, their dying there — and that in our time those who still associate partners with Allah, as the continuation of the same people, live by the verse in which He says humiliation in the life of this world will reach them — this is what it shows.
Yes.
