Translation
They were told; “Inhabit that city (Jerusalem), eat (from its provisions) as you desire and say that you desire to be forgiven. Enter the door bowing down so that We will forgive your wrongs. And for the muhsin, We will increase goodness.”
Tafsir
The people were told to settle in this city, Jerusalem, and when you arrive there, when you enter the gate, bow down and prostrate yourself and thank Allah for your salvation from the Sinai desert, and enter by saying (hitta), and the meaning of hitta is to ask Allah to forgive them for their mistakes. But this people, after so much goodness, after so many miracles, still did not settle down, and some of them, except for those who obeyed Allah, rebelled against Allah (swt). But for those who obey Allah's commands, Allah will increase His bounty in the future. He will provide them with abundant sustenance and peace in this world and give them rewards in the Hereafter.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-A'raf, verse 161 is where we have arrived. It was said to them: settle in this city, in Jerusalem, in Jerusalem.
Eat of its blessings as you wish. Say: we ask to be forgiven, and enter the gate bowing, so that We forgive your mistakes. To those who do good We will later increase Our favor even more, it says. To those who do good.
If we try to give
a person an example like this. An example.
Such a thing does not happen, but suppose it did. If Allah appeared before you and said: you will do this, this and this, to you, if it is outside your destiny too, if it is outside your wish, to that you'd say okay, okay, you'd submit, but you'd still do as you please. So with these too: Allah Almighty's address to them through their prophets, this much, manna coming from Paradise, being fed with quail meat, crossing the sea by miracles, water gushing from twelve springs, shade made with clouds, the mountains raised above them, now, does Allah appear before a person in anything greater than this?
Something greater. Maybe with one of them you could fall into doubt, but can there be anything greater than this? Look how many, sir, miracles upon you. They still do as they please. So may a person's nafs not do (?). He can never come to the right path.
This people was told: settle in this city, that is, the city of Jerusalem.
When you get there, enter through the gate bowing, prostrating. Thank Allah for your deliverance from the Sinai Desert. And enter saying Hitta. The meaning of Hitta is to ask Allah Almighty for the pardon, the forgiveness of the mistakes they made. Hitta. Forgive me.
Yes.
But this people, after so many favors, after so many miracles, still had not mended their ways; again, except for some among them, they rebelled against Allah Almighty. But to those who obey Allah's commands Allah will later increase His favor. Both in this world He will bring them abundant provision and safety and in the hereafter He will give them rewards. Now here, the words to be said in the continuations of the verses following each other are all within the verses. That's why we don't want to explain a verse in advance. Their saying hinta, their saying: watch over us, those will now come up in these verses.
We find it more appropriate to explain them in those verses.
