Tafsir
A group of religious leaders preached to the Children of Israel, who disrespected Saturday and continued to hunt on that day, even though hunting was forbidden on that day, disregarding Allah's prohibitions. But this people would not listen to these preaching religious leaders.
Again, some of them addressed the religious leaders who were preaching: Although you preach to this people who do not understand, they do not listen to you. And yet you are still preaching to them. They are a people who will suffer Allah's wrath or some calamity. And the preaching clergymen will say that if this people come to their senses and ask forgiveness from Allah for what they have done, they will be saved. Or they will say that our preaching will counteract a calamity that will come to them and we will be saved.
These religious leaders preach to a people who do not understand and at the same time build a barrier between them and this people. The Israelites, ignoring the Saturday prohibition, start building a breakwater in the sea. When the sea is full of fish on Saturday, they think that they will be able to fish at other times by covering these fish with the breakwater. In other words, they resorted to a kind of trickery. Although a group of clerics told them that what they were doing was a trick and that they should give up, they ignored the clerics and completed the breakwater. The clergy also complete the barrier between them and their tribe.
What is said in the video
Yes, we have come to verse 164.
A group among them: Why do you admonish a people whom Allah will destroy or punish severely? Just as I explained a moment ago. That is what they say. He said, those who admonished said: So that we may present an excuse to our Lord, and also in the hope that they may be mindful, we admonish them. That is, they will (?) an excuse. Look, my Allah, we have done our duty. We told them. We were on Your side. We have no sin. So that they can say that. And also we admonish them, that is, so they may be mindful. You know, when Allah Almighty (?) prophets is about to send destruction, He brings the prophets and those who follow them to safety.
He destroys the others. Now these, since they are heirs of the prophets, are fulfilling their duty, they speak out. In this case, perhaps if Allah sends a calamity, He brings them to safety. Yes.
Allah Almighty's learned servants are like that too. When Allah Almighty is about to send destruction upon a town, He takes them out of that town too. Those learned servants of His. Because those learned servants, those saints, are heirs of the prophets. Since they tell of Allah truly, and since there will be no change in that eternal law of Allah, He takes those people out of there as well. After that, as for what remains, whatever calamity He will send there, to the people there He sends it.
To the Children of Israel who, disrespecting the Sabbath, despite the fishing ban on that day, ignored Allah's prohibitions and kept on fishing, a group of the religious men gives some advice to these people. But this people do not listen to these preaching religious men. Again some among them, addressing the religious men who preach and advise, say: You, to this people who won't listen, even though you preach and advise them, they do not listen to you. Yet even so, you still keep preaching to them. These are a people who will suffer Allah's wrath or a calamity from Him, they say. The preaching religious men, however, say: Perhaps this people will come to their senses, and for what they did ask Allah Almighty for pardon and forgiveness and attain salvation.
Or, against a calamity that will come upon them, some of the advice we have given will stand against it, and we will be saved, they say. That is, some advice we have given will stand against it, and we will attain salvation, say those preachers. While these religious men preach to the people who won't listen, at the same time, between this people and themselves, they build a wall. The Children of Israel who ignore the Sabbath ban, however, begin building a breakwater in the sea. When the sea fills with fish on the Sabbath, they close these fish in with the breakwater and plan to catch them at other times.
So they resort to a kind of trick as well. Although a group of the religious men tell them that what they are doing is an evil ruse and that they should give up these deeds, they pay no heed to the religious men and complete the breakwater. The religious men, in turn, complete the wall between themselves and their people.
