Al-A'raf 169: After them, a group of evil people came that inherited the Book and purchased the worthless worldly life (in return for altering verses), saying; “We will surely be forgiven.” If a similar opportunity would arise, they would take that as well. Translation

After them, a group of evil people came that inherited the Book and purchased the worthless worldly life (in return for altering verses), saying; “We will surely be forgiven.” If a similar opportunity would arise, they would take that as well. Did not Allah proclaim to you in the Book? Did not they read not to speak anything but the truth and that the Prophet among you is truthful? For those who abstain, the dwelling of the hereafter is better. Do you not contemplate?

Tafsir

Some of the generations that followed the Children of Israel falsified the Torah and the Books in their hands. They exchanged them for this worthless world. In the time of the Holy Hour, these people rebelled against Allah by denying the Prophethood of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the Holy Quran.

These people's habit of making decisions on behalf of Allah (swt) is due to their underestimation of Allah (swt), not being able to comprehend Allah (swt) properly. Out of their own greatness and arrogance, pride and egoism, they make their enemy, the devil, laugh at them in order to satisfy their egoistic feelings. In the Hereafter, they will not be subjected to fire for more than a few days, they will be forgiven anyway, and they will enjoy the world while they are here on earth, and they will take it on as a treasure that is not found, and they will not say halal or haram, and they will embrace harams such as interest and alcohol and pork, which Allah forbids, as if they were halal, and they will rule over them in defiance of Allah's commands and prohibitions. Conduct irresponsible and unjust business in the world, oppress Allah's creatures as if you own them, and then decide for Allah, saying that I will be forgiven. These are not the words of an intelligent person, of those who have a sound mind.

It is because it is pleasing to them that they distort the Books of Allah with their own hands and turn them to their own advantage, and they judge by what Allah forbids. Just as they were heirs to the verses in the Torah that were changed and written to suit their own interests, they will be heirs to another writing that will do them evil in the same way.

Reminding them in their Books that they had made a covenant with Allah in the previous state (Kalubala). We know how people's covenants are made. We have veiled you with faith in the unseen in the worldly realm, which is called the realm of the unseen. In the worldly realm, We have told you how to behave in your Books that I have sent to you. We have written in your Books with Verses that you should not speak about Allah and other than the truth. Have they not read these Verses of ours in their Books? They oppose Allah and His Messenger.

(The abode of the Hereafter is better for those who beware, do you not understand?) Do you not understand that this world is temporary, that every soul will taste death, and that you cannot take away even a particle of your world, that the things of this world were created for people to receive rewards and sins, and that the real gain will be in obedience to Allah and His Messenger in this world and in the Hereafter, and that you will attain salvation?

What is said in the video

In verse 169 of Surah Al-A'raf: After them came some evil people who, in return for distorting the verses, took this worthless worldly gain, saying "We will be forgiven anyway," and inherited the Book. If a similar gain came to them again, they would take it too. Had Allah not, reminding you that He took your pledge and made a covenant with you in the Book, written that you speak nothing but the truth, and that the Messenger among you is true? The abode of the Hereafter is better for those who are mindful. Do you still not understand? says Allah Almighty. Do you still not understand?

It says that among them the rabbis and priests were deceived by the base, worthless world's material things, it says. They altered the words of Allah. Claiming it was Allah's word, into the Book Allah sent, it says, insertions, human fabrications, they inserted, it says. Yes. To them, of that world, it says, of the world, if they were given another share, they would again that deed, from that deed, that is, from inserting human fabrication into Allah's Book as Allah's word, not desist, it says. Yes. Because these evil people inherited the Book Allah sent.

Yes.

So today too, more or less, more or less, we are not saying their state, we are not saying like them, but, Allah forbid, the religion of Islam has been taken over by superstitions.

They turned the religion of Islam into superstitions.

After a while, if it were not for Allah's mercy, if Allah's mercy upon us were not there, and if Allah Almighty had not sent the word of this verse: Did they think they would extinguish Allah's light with the blowing of their mouths? Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment.

Yes. If it were not for this verse, these superstitions would take over the religion, and the religion of Islam would disappear. Those who, in the face of these superstitions, say "I am a Muslim" yet are governed by superstitions, who interpret the verses backwards, who resort to reinterpretation, who cling to (?), to narrations, turn their backs on the genuine hadiths, call those human fabrications that are not hadith "hadith", and say "This man is playing with our creed, sir," and stand up for those superstitions — they are travellers on the same path. Because Allah's mercy will protect His religion, against them He (?) and (?) His religion.

His religion. Yes.

It puts it so beautifully anyway. After them came some evil people who, in return for distorting the verses, took this worthless worldly gain, saying "We will be forgiven anyway," and inherited the Book. "We will be forgiven anyway, we repent. Allah's pardon and forgiveness are abundant." Yes. Abundant, yes, but if you could only know that you are in a test, that your devotion to Allah Almighty, against the love of the world in your heart, is weighed on the fine scale of your conscience — if you could only know that — how, in your Lord's sight, you leaned toward that world with the desires of the nafs, how you took Allah's word lightly, and that tomorrow, on the Day of Judgment, in the divine presence, when giving account before Allah Almighty, you disregarded it, took it lightly, you would understand very well.

If you had truly turned to the truth. Yes.

Had Allah, from the Book, in the Book, reminding you that He took your pledge and made a covenant with you, written that you speak nothing but the truth, and that the Messenger among you is true — had He written it or not? The abode of the Hereafter is better for the one who is mindful. Do you still not understand? Yes. So if a person inclines toward the world, sells Allah's verses for worldly gain, for worldly gain,

again, to gain the world, through lies and falsehood, puts himself at the head of people out of a passion to be leader, and steers people with superstitions, where he has no right, with his own circle and his supporters, with advertising, with the rent-seeking interests of those around him, people who adapt people to people and are in a position to exploit their consciences — today we also see them playing the leading roles. The leading roles. May Allah, from such an end, such an understanding, such an Islamic way of life, protect us. Yes.

We are Muslims. If a Muslim says "Allah", then even if there were not just this universe but another one too, and even if these creatures were doubled, he would, never compromising on Allah, take his place at Allah's side.

If he is a Muslim and says "Allah", meaning Allah is the Creator, he knows that He has power over everything and takes his place in Allah's ranks. He does not value those creatures. When I say he does not value creatures, it is not in the sense that he does not value people who love Allah or the prophets. Allah forbid. They do not value the material things Allah created for people. He created them for people anyway; (?) takes them and uses them for his need, for his need, and thanks his Lord. Because He placed the beings created for his own need at his disposal, at man's disposal, he thanks Allah.

People with this understanding say "I am a Muslim" and raise the flag of Islam. Otherwise one says "I am a Muslim", unaware of the verses, bound by superstitions, having counted Allah's word as nothing in his own heart,

not even knowing what Paradise and Hell are, Still, on the Sirat bridge, supposedly one pulls back a hand, moves a foot forward, moves one foot forward, pulls one foot back. Some supposedly have light as big as mountains, some, let me tell you, light as big as a camel, some a light at the tip of a finger. Look at this (?): people who do not even know whether Paradise and Hell will be entered with bodies or not, those who are washed at the gate of Paradise and then enter, what superstitions they are bound by.

That Allah has saved us from within such a circle of superstition — however much one thanks Allah for it, it is too little. Within the knowledge He has given. So use your reason. Your reason — look, what does it say here? "Do you still not understand?" it says. Allah Almighty is showing us the way. Yes.

Some generations of the Children of Israel who came after, who came after, distorted the Torah and the books in their hands. They changed them in return for this worthless world. In the Age of Bliss, these people, by denying the prophethood of the Seal of the Prophets, the Prophet Muhammad, and the Holy Quran, rebelled against Allah. Yes.
