Translation

Did they not see the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, Allah’s entire creation and that their death could have approached them? So, which word will they believe in after the Qur’an?

Tafsir

Since Allah created the intellect to know His Essence, this verse addresses the intellect by saying, "Have they not looked at the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and all that Allah has created, and that their term may be near?" Is there another God other than Allah, who says that this universe and this creation is mine? But who is there but Allah, who is the only One, there is no other God but Him, who will call to account every era and every age, every human being until the Day of Resurrection, and after the Day of Resurrection? Allah, who is the eternal and everlasting, is the only One who is eternal and everlasting, and He is the only One who is eternal, and He is the only One who is eternal. Do they not think, then, that their own time will come in time and they will have to give an account before Allah on the Day of Reckoning?

The Qur'an came to them as a Book from Allah, the Creator of the worlds, which is the truth. If they know intellectually that there is a God who created them, but when they hear the Word of truth, they oppose the truth and the Prophet, what other word than the Qur'an will they believe in, since there will be no more Prophets and Books.

Surah Al-A'raf, verse 185. Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, at everything Allah has created, and that their term may have drawn near?

How beautifully our Lord speaks to us. We will use our minds a little. What does it say? At the dominion of the heavens and the earth.

Everything is there. But without a ruler, would it command? There is a state. There is a nation in it. If it had no ruler, if that place had no law, would that state stay standing? Yes. When it says the dominion of the heavens and the earth, all seven layers of heavens and (?), the One who created these and is their owner, their sovereign, their king, their creator, their owner: Allah. Allah, who rules over them with His power and might; under His dominion are these beings. At everything Allah has created and that their term may have drawn near, have they not looked? Their term: whatever We created, it says, if We created them with the word kun, when He says fayakun, they will crash into one another.

The Last Day will come. Do they not look at their term drawing near? Let us say the lifespan of Ahmet, of Mehmet, is fifty years, a hundred years, a thousand years. Well, with every passing second, is he not getting closer to his term? In the world, with every passing moment, is it not getting closer to the Last Day? Then, O man, do you not look at the time your term is drawing near, at this course coming closer? In my youth I had a very fine appearance. You reached middle age, your strength and power were very good, but you grew old, and your strength gave out too. Do you not see your term drawing near? So where are you going, where are you rowing to?

How can you forget your Creator, turn your back on Him and oppose Him? Does Allah not say: every soul will taste death, and your return is to Me? And did you think yourself free of responsibility in the world, during your life?

In the end you will give account in the presence of your Lord. Yes, have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, at everything Allah has created, and that their term may have drawn near? Did you not use your mind? Then in what word after the Quran will they believe, it says. That is, other than the word of Allah, the sovereign of these worlds, what word will these people (?), do they not see? Allah explains everything clearly, (?), in a way everyone can understand, to people. Among them He speaks with you and me, He makes us speak. By making you speak, it is as if He is speaking.

Yes. By giving us the verses, our Lord speaks to us in front of us.

Since Allah Almighty created the mind to know His essence, in this verse He addresses the mind. The mind. Yes.

Have they not looked at the dominion of the heavens and the earth, at everything Allah has created, and that their term may have drawn near? Has another god come forth, saying: this universe, these created beings, are mine? Is there anyone? Is there? Is there none, Hodja?

Did Pharaoh not say it? Did Nimrod not say it? He did, he said I am God. In fact Nimrod said, Abraham said this to Nimrod. Allah causes death and gives life, he said. And Nimrod said: I too cause death and give life. How do you cause death and give life, Abraham asked. The one who is to die, he said, the person I am going to kill, I pardon him, he said. I gave him life, he said. Not an innocent person, a (?) person I kill, he said. True, within his command. Then Abraham said: my Lord makes the sun rise from the east. Can you make it rise from the west, he said. There Nimrod was left dumbfounded.

So, the owner of the worlds; however much, apart from the owner of the worlds, those mindless and foolish ones, those wretches said I am God, they died and were gone. Whereas Allah is immortal. Ever since He created the worlds, He has been speaking with people. He speaks with people. Yes, He shows them the way. Because He keeps every servant He created under His mercy and loves them very much. So in this way Allah Almighty shows people the truth. By raising scholars who will lead them to the truth, through scholars who will explain the truth, He has His verses explained to people.

Although we cannot see Him with these eyes among us, not making Himself, His essence, felt openly, He makes it live among us, makes it be shown, that is. Yes.

But Allah, who is one, besides whom there is no other god, who in every era and every age until the Last Day will call every person to account, and after the Last Day too, who by His being is the Ever-Living and eternal from pre-eternity to post-eternity, Allah draws man to reflection. As I have been saying all along: reflection, always reflection. Have they not seen that all created things are perishable? All of them are mortal. Allah alone is everlasting. Huwa'l-awwalu wa'l-akhiru wa'z-zahiru wa'l-batin. Ever the same from what He created. First, before creation, before the universe was created: the First.

After the universe was created, and after everything has ceased to be: He is the Last. He created these worlds; through what He created He is manifest, the Manifest, He is hidden from the eyes, unseen. Through His being He makes His existence known to people, manifestly among us. After these worlds end, He is the owner of the world of the hereafter, that is, the inner and hidden world. An endless, eternal life. Yes, all created things are perishable, all are mortal, Allah alone is everlasting. So do they not think that, drawing nearer to their term over time, on that Day of Reckoning they will give account in the presence of Allah?

Do they not think? But unfortunately the rosy allure of the world has bewitched people's eyes. And Satan has made this look very attractive to them. And the nafs, since it does not draw near to Allah, has inclined toward the world anyway. Satan, the nafs and the world work together.

In this case, if a person turns his back on his mind, his faith and the inspiration our Lord gave to the human heart, then he takes his place beside the enemy. Yes, in this case that person does not even want to think about the world of the hereafter. He even doubts that he will be resurrected in the hereafter. In this case Allah's word is behind his ear, behind his ear. But whatever his eye sees, without saying halal or haram, he attacks the halal and the haram so fiercely, he draws so close to the things Allah (?), that in this case that person exposes himself so much to the fire, exposes himself to punishment.

So, if a person does not think of his tomorrow; when you say tomorrow, as you said a moment ago, even closer than tomorrow, always close, perhaps closer than tomorrow, in the world of the hereafter, in his Lord's presence, if he does not know, does not think that he will be called to account, if the fear of Allah is not in his heart, if he is not ashamed before His Messenger, he turns his back on the verses, sees his mind above the verses and says: the words of the (?) of past times, then how much ignorance that person swims in, how on earth in his conduct he is more astray than an animal; he himself, before the light of faith, before those who serve as a mirror to him, displays himself so nicely.

Yes, to them from Allah, who is the Truth and who created the worlds, the Quran came as a book. The Quran, each of its verses is an ocean. Hodja, (?) an ocean; Allah's word rests on letters. Letters; what these letters mean, we cannot know. They come together and show us a way. Because He had created our minds incomplete. Why? Because He gave a part of His essence, created him like His essence. He gave of His attributes. In this case He will make him need His essence, so that He will be known as our Great One, our Creator, and the Owner who created us. And we will worship Him. Because He created us honored.

Some people cannot grasp these words I am saying. Look, they say, he is giving Allah attributes, they say.

I have nothing to say to them. Why do I have nothing to say? I will show a single verse. After that I will not speak of it anyway. We gave Adam of Our spirit, it says. Is that right? It is a verse. To Jesus, from Our spirit (?), it says. Is this right too? This is right too. If Adam and Jesus are human, we too are human. We too have of His spirit. In this case we are parts of our Lord. But we are not creators, we are creatures. We are mirrors in which the essence our Lord created is reflected. We are His parts.

We are everlasting with our Lord. With our Lord. Yes. The people of Hell, they too are everlasting with the Lord. Because there is no other Lord. They are there in Hell forever, because spirits do not die. Those obedient to Allah are eternal in Paradise. Because there is no death again. If there were death, if Allah Almighty had not called those in Paradise and Hell eternal, this question would come to my mind: Will my Lord die too? I would say that. Since I have His spirit, He must be mortal too, one would say. There I put a full stop. But since He says eternal in Paradise and Hell for those people, since in people too there is (?) of His essence, from His spirit, Allah Almighty, that He is immortal, that with His attribute Hu, with His essence He is everlasting, that He gives life to all His creatures with His attribute al-Hayy, and that through His creatures, through man, His essence is known; giving man will, the partial will, because He willed that His essence be known through man's own will, He limited his mind.

As the Creator, His essence remained everlasting. Yes. Young people, it seems a bit deep. Some people cannot grasp it. So after this Allah Almighty addresses: other than the Quran, in what word will they believe? There is none who shows the way other than Allah. Whoever shows the way, his mind is limited. Yes.
