Translation

Remember your Lord during the morning and the evening, by yourself, begging and trembling with a voice that is not loud; do not be among the ignorant ones.

Tafsir

In return for all the blessings of Allah (swt), people should pray and supplicate to Allah (swt) in the morning and evening, not in a loud voice. How can man repay his debt of gratitude to Allah who wakes him up from the state of half-death when he falls asleep at night, and gives him his soul back to him, and brings him to the morning, and at the same time gives him his sustenance for the whole day, and brings him to the evening without any accidents or troubles? By remembering Allah, who holds the wheel of this cycle in His hands, people who pray are separated from the heedless and thank Allah.

Who are the heedless? Despite knowing that he was created and that the worlds were created by Allah alone, and despite the fact that Allah, who has ordained all the sustenance of these creatures, provides sustenance to His creatures, man does not see the giver of this sustenance, and people are heedless who do not thank and remember Allah by remembering Him even once, even though they are under the mercy of Allah (swt), whom He calls His mercy to everyone in the universe, and benefit from it.

What is said in the video

To Surah Al-A'raf, verse 205, we have come.

Humbly within yourself and in awe, in a voice that is not loud, morning and evening remember your Lord, and do not be among the heedless, it says. Yes. Corresponding to this verse I will tell you an example. An example. Then I will give an example from myself, so that it is better understood.

We know Hacı Bayram Veli in Ankara.

Hacı Bayram Veli is trained by his teachers. They see that he is a great ocean. From now on you will give the fatwas, they say. Hacı Bayram Veli says, I cannot give fatwas. His teachers say: my son, look, we regard you as superior to us. Therefore from now on you take care of this work. You give people the fatwas. When they say that, or when they say preach to them and give them advice, he says, I do not have such a tongue.

Well, my son, how can you not have such a tongue? You are so well trained, after all.

It takes such a tongue, he says, that it will penetrate the human heart. I do not have that tongue, he says. Then go to Bursa, they say. There is a teacher in Bursa. Follow him. He goes. He follows the teacher. The teacher sees that he is an ocean. Hacı Bayram is such an ocean. My son, I have nothing to give you. You need to preach and give advice to people, he says. Just as he told his teachers in Ankara, he tells him too. It takes such a tongue, he says. Such a tongue that it will penetrate the human heart. And a tongue that will address it; what you tell superficially strikes the ear and comes back, he says; if a person preaches with such a tongue, he has only preached to his own nafs, he says.

At that moment there is a knock at the door, a messenger comes. Somuncu Baba is calling you, he says to Hacı Bayram Veli. Without asking who he is, Hacı Bayram Veli follows the messenger and goes to Kayseri. There he is trained. There he is trained. After being trained, he begins giving fatwas to people. He begins to preach. Yes. Now pay attention to the verse. Humbly within yourself, in awe, in a voice that is not loud, morning and evening remember your Lord, do not be among the heedless. Sometimes, while going through my prayer beads, I remember Him so much that that is, I remember Him by living what I say, living it, so that sometimes tears flow from my eyes and the bridge of my nose aches; a meaning that cannot be put into words appears. A meaning, an experience appears.

Now to the verse. In the verse, remembrance is in knowing your Lord. What does it say? They implore within themselves, in a voice that is not great and not loud. Morning and evening remember your Lord, do not be among the heedless, it says. Know your Lord like that, it says. Know Him like this. Read it superficially, read, read, move on. But the essence of the matter is something else entirely.

In return for so many blessings of Allah Almighty, people, morning and evening, without a loud voice, should be in prayer and supplication, imploring Allah. To Allah, who wakes a person from sleep, a state of half-death when he falls asleep at night, and gives his soul back to him and brings him to morning, and likewise to Allah, who all day gives a person his provision and brings him to evening without accident or calamity, a person's debt of gratitude how can he pay?

People who pray remembering Allah, who holds the wheel of this cycle in His hand, are set apart from the heedless and have also thanked Allah as well. How nicely we have put it, in a veiled way. Who are the heedless? Although he knows that he himself was created and that the worlds were created by the one Allah alone, and although Allah, who has determined all the provision of these created beings, gives His creatures their provision, man does not see the Giver of this provision; although he is in the universe under the mercy of Allah Almighty (?) and benefits from it, people who not even once, remembering Him, thank Allah and remember Him are the heedless.

These. Yes.
