To the people of Pharaoh; will they not abstain?”

Tafsir

Go to Pharaoh's people and give them the Truth, so that they will not continue in their cruelty and shun Allah? Will they not call Pharaoh a god and stop worshipping him, even though Pharaoh was a human being created by Allah? Will they continue to keep the people of Israel in captivity, giving them the heaviest labor and oppressing them? He said, "Tell them the truth.

What is said in the video

We left off at the eleventh verse of Surah Ash-Shu'ara. The eleventh verse. "Pharaoh's people," it says. "Pharaoh's people" — that is, it reinforces; in the previous verse Allah Almighty says this: Well, "And remember the time when your Lord called out to Moses: Go to your people, who are wrongdoers." And perhaps we had explained the verse to you, too. Here, too, he goes to Pharaoh's people. It reinforces, that is. "Will they still not beware?" Now, Allah Almighty does know that they will not beware. Since Allah Almighty will not call anyone to account for what He has not made known, He has him convey the duty.

What duty? To make known to Pharaoh that there is no god but Allah. Yes. Because Pharaoh claims to be God. God forbid. Yes. In this case, to Moses (peace be upon him): he goes to Pharaoh's people. "Will they still not beware?" Go to Pharaoh's people and (?) the truth — will they still continue their wrongdoing and not beware of Allah? The chief, the first main reason for the wrongdoing there: he was greatly oppressing the Children of Israel.

He made them work in the hardest jobs. In canals, in (?). There he gave them a wage barely enough to fill their stomachs.

Although Pharaoh is also a human created by Allah, calling Pharaoh God and worshipping him — will they not give that up? Worshipping Pharaoh. He had declared himself God, you see. Well. Wherever Pharaoh went, people would fall prostrate. They could not look at his face. He would have anyone who looked at his face killed.

Isn't this also wrongdoing? Yet today, which is the oldest house? Baytullah. On earth. Looking at it is an act of worship. Looking is worship. Sitting and watching it, looking at it, is worship. Yes. Keeping the people of Israel (?), giving them the hardest work, and oppressing them — will he still not give that up? "Tell them the truth," He commanded. To whom? To Moses (peace be upon him) and his brother Aaron.
