Translation

(Moses) said, “If you are among those who contemplate (you will accept that) Allah is the Lord of everything in the heavens, on the earth and in between them.”

Tafsir

When Pharaoh asked Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' what it was that he called the Lord of the Worlds, Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' seized the opportunity to convey the Truth to Pharaoh.

Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' said to Pharaoh: "If you would think and understand the truth of the matter, the meaning of Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm''s speech to Pharaoh up to this point is: O Pharaoh! You know that there is an Allah. If you had not known that there is no Allah, you would not have claimed godhood. So you also know what I am going to tell you. But I, as a messenger, will remind you of Allah, and I understand that even though I tell you the Truth, you will not give up your claim to godhood. Because it will be too much for you to break your ego and become a servant of Allah. In this regard, he still wants to say that I will entrust you with the Truth and continues his speech.

(You confess that He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them). O Pharaoh! Allah is the Lord of all creation, the Creator of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. You yourself confess this. There is no god but Him. He is the Provider of the sustenance of the creatures, He is the Creator of life and death. He said that all souls will be returned to Allah.

What is said in the video

In verse 24 of Surah Ash-Shu'ara, Moses answered: If you were people who reflect on the truth of the matter and understand, you would admit that He is the Lord of the heavens, the earth and everything between them.

When Pharaoh asked Moses (peace be upon him) what this thing he called the Lord of the worlds was, Moses (peace be upon him) seized the opportunity to convey the truth to Pharaoh. Moses (peace be upon him) to Pharaoh: if you wished to reflect on and understand the truth, the reality of the matter — the meaning of what Moses (peace be upon him) said to Pharaoh up to this point is: O Pharaoh, you too know that there is an Allah. Had you not known that Allah does not exist, the claim to godhood would not have worked. So you also know what I am going to tell you. But as a messenger I will remind you of Allah.

I understand that, although I explain the truth to you, you will not give up this claim to godhood. For breaking your nafs and becoming a servant of Allah will be hard for you. Therefore he means to say, "I will nevertheless deliver the truth to you," and continues speaking. You would admit that He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of what is between the two. So, O Pharaoh, Allah, who created the heavens, the earth and what is between them, is the Lord of all His creatures. You too admit this. There is no god but Him. He is the One who gives the creatures their provision, who created life and death.

All souls will be returned to Allah, he said. Now, prophets do not lie. How does he know? What does he say? You would admit that He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of what is between the two. You too know that there is a Lord. So, O Pharaoh, Allah, who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them, is the Lord of all creatures. "You too admit this," he says. Why does he say that? From where does he know it, that he says so? How does he know? When We created these worlds, We did not take Satan and his companion (?) as witnesses. Isn't that set against the verse, sir? When We created these worlds, We did not take Satan and his companion (?) as witnesses.

Isn't that set against the verse, sir? All of these are Surah Al-A'raf, the 72nd verse.

That's where we know it from. Remember, they said yes. Yet there they objected. If he had said yes, Allah Almighty in the verse — that is, if they had said yes there, "You are my Lord," and then denied it here, Allah Almighty's verses would contradict each other. Which one? For example, He says, "They betrayed Me back then." Isn't that so? My beloved, do not mind their calling you a liar. They betrayed Me too back then. So then, what is the "yes" here? Our souls, which saw themselves suddenly come into existence at around thirty-three years of age — we will call this our real being. They know that they were created by a Lord.

That is why it says yes. Allah Almighty: They said yes. That is, they know that they were created. But they denied Me, He says. They denied Me. Because He gave a part of His spirit, Allah Almighty manifests Himself with (?) attributes to people. In that case, those who rebel against Allah out of pride and arrogance (?) the Lord of their own imaginings; Allah Almighty says, they will not be able to see their Lord, He says. Those who cannot (?) the meanings of the verses that much say Allah cannot be seen. And they will, He says, in the hereafter be gathered blind and deaf. Yet in Surah As-Sajdah, the 12th verse — what does it say here?

Let's see here. Surah As-Sajdah, the 12th verse — what does it say? Give me the book.

Let's take a look. Let's see what Surah As-Sajdah says.

The twelfth verse.

It comes after Surah Ar-Rum, I think. Surah Luqman. Surah As-Sajdah. Those sinners, in the presence of their Lord — where is this? After the Day of Judgement has come, in the realm of the hereafter, at the Supreme Court, now, in the presence of the judges. Eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn. Not the judges — in the presence of the Judge. Which judge? Eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn. In the presence of Allah Almighty, the Judge of judges. What does it say now? Those sinners, in the presence of their Lord, hanging their heads: Our Lord, we have seen. So he does see, look. He sees Allah Almighty. We have heard. So he hears.

Now send us back to the world so that we may do good deeds. We now firmly believe — if only you could see the time when they will say this, He says. So according to the verse, they will not be gathered blind and sightless. However much they say this, We know their covenant and, in return for their covenanting with Us according to that covenant, their wish, and the characters We gave them according to that wish. Even if We sent them back not once but several more times, they would do the same thing again. In that case, they are liars. They are liars at their very root anyway. Deniers. That is why the verse here, in which He says they will not see their Lord, symbolises tawhid.

It symbolises La ilahe illallah. There is no god other than Allah for them to see the Lord they expect in their own imaginings. So here the meaning of (?): if it were up to them, they would deny. But because He knows they would deny, Allah Almighty, having created them — and since they too know that they were suddenly created — speaks on their behalf: said "yes"; they all know. So all people who come into the world — those who say there is no Allah, even those who deny Allah like Darwin — know that Allah exists. Had they not known of Allah's existence anyway — since they have no evidence in hand to prove it against non-existence — they would not set about putting this forward and explaining it. What does he say?

There is no Allah — he sets out to prove it. What are you proving? So Allah exists, and you know it too. Yes. These are the hardened disbelievers. We will call them disbelievers, because Allah Almighty calls them disbelievers. Kul yâ eyyühe'l-kâfirûn. Yes. What is He telling us? Disbelievers.

Yes.

What does it say? You would admit that He is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of what is between the two. So, O Pharaoh, Allah, who created the heavens, the earth and what is between them, is the Lord of the great creatures, of all creatures. You too admit this. So you too admit it. From where? I know it from there. I know it from there too. Because if you cannot see this realm, you cannot easily unlock these verses. It must be seen, so that you can unlock the verse. This is a matter to be solved with Arabic words. There is no god but Him. He is the One who gives the creatures their provision, who created life and death.

All souls will be returned to Allah, he said. Yes.
