The mu’min (believers) are only those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned to them, whose faith strengthens when Allah’s verses are recited to them and who only depend on and trust in their Lord.
Tafsir
Those who are aware of tajelliyat are believers. These are the ones who know the existence of Allah (swt) in the same way that they know and see their own existence. When Allah is mentioned in their presence, their hearts tremble from fear of Allah and their hearts are filled with peace from love of Allah. They surrender their existence to Allah (swt). They are the ones who believe in every verse that comes from Allah.
When the Verses of Allah are recited to them, they increase their faith. By perceiving the secrets and subtleties in these Verses, they realize that Allah is exempt from any imperfect attributes. If the Holy Qur'an were a human fabrication, it would contain many words that do not agree with each other. However, Allah's Verses not only support each other, but also show people many ways. The verses explain the truth and guide people to guidance. In this respect, Allah (swt) proves His existence between people through His Verses. As for the believers, because of their submission to Allah (swt), Allah (swt) puts His light in their hearts. In the light of this light, people surrender their souls and their entire selves to Allah (swt) and rely on Him alone. Allah (swt) does not leave people who surrender to Allah (swt) with this faith and submission alone in this world and the Hereafter, and He becomes the walking foot, the holding hand and the speaking tongue of such servants.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Anfal, verse 2: The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, tremble in their hearts, who, when Allah's verses are recited to them, increase their faith and who rely and trust in their Lord alone, the believers.
When we say believer, what do we understand?
A believer is a Muslim person. The believer. He has passed beyond the nafs-i ammara, the nafs-i lawwama, the nafs-i mulhima. That is, he has reformed his nafs.
Surah Al-Fajr, 27, 28, 29. verses, sir; people who have become the recipients of them. Sir: O nafs that has found tranquility, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise, says the verse; the people who correspond to that verse. That is, if we look from here, we will express the verse more beautifully. Yes, Surah Al-Fajr.
What does it say? Ya eyyetühe'n-nefsü'l-mutmainne. That is, O nafs that has found tranquility. And here what does it say? O person who has attained inner peace, it says. Yes. Attaining inner peace is one thing. Bringing the nafs to tranquility is another. What does it say? Ya eyyetühe'n-nefsü'l-mutmainne. To the person who has his nafs reformed, the owner of that nafs. Yes.
Irciî ilâ rabbiki râdıyeten mardıyyeh. What does it say?
Allah Almighty, who is pleased with him, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants. Return to your Lord, you pleased with Him and He pleased with you, it says. Return to your Lord. He has already returned. Return to your Lord: this is deficient too, that is, wrong. O nafs that has found tranquility, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter Paradise, it says. It does not say return to your Lord. There is no returning here. Yes. Fedhulî fî ibâdî vedhulî cennetî. Enter among My servants who worship. Enter among My servants, those servants of Mine who worship.
Now, there is no deficiency at all in Allah's word. He sets the word in place so beautifully. When He says enter among My servants: all the beings Allah created are His servants. Among which servants will he enter? Fedhulî fî ibâdî. Enter among My servants who worship, it says. Vedhulî cennetî, enter My Paradise, it says. Join them. Yes. This is the believer. This is the believer. Those after this are not believers. Those above this are believers too. Nafs-i radiya, the righteous servants. Nafs-i mardiya, nafs-i safiya. Sir, nafs-i radiya, nafs-i mardiya, nafs-i safiya. Nafs-i radiya is ilme'l-yakîn, Allah's righteous servants.
Nafs-i mardiya is the kutbu'l-azam, nafs-i safiya is the kutbu'l-aktab. Yes, so until the state of tranquility it is not certain how a person will go to the hereafter. It is not certain how he will go to the hereafter. If he has attained the quality of believer; and the believer, having reformed his nafs, removed the discord and wickedness in his heart, those evils, the worldly attachments, and had Allah's light put in their place, is that person. This person is occupied with the remembrance of Allah, knows his worldly responsibilities, but never compromises on Allah, both remembers his Lord and worships as far as he can, and respects everyone's rights and dues; who will never again fall back to the nafs-i mulhima, the nafs-i lawwama, the nafs-i ammara or to (?), a person of such a degree. The believer.
Very precious. These are precious. The believers, people may find it strange, let them find it strange. Let me speak the truth, and let them find it strange. The believers are, in a way, like the Companions. Like the Companions. Why were the Companions called Companions? Sahaba. What is the meaning of Sahaba? They say it is the one who saw the Prophet. The likes of Abu Jahl saw him too. The likes of Abu Lahab saw him too. The idolaters saw him too. Did they become Companions too? Then let us learn what a Companion is. What is a Companion? The person who personally (?) to the Prophet (peace be upon him), saying, O Messenger of Allah, I believed and have faith that Allah is one and that you are His Messenger, and said Eşhedü en lâ ilâhe illallah ve eşhedü enne Muhammeden abdühû ve resûlüh, and became a Muslim, would, for the sake of the Prophet, that same evening come to know the manifestations of Allah Almighty.
The manifestations. Those who become aware of the manifestations are the Companions. Since the believers too become aware of the manifestations, they too are in the position of Companions. They are in the position of Companions. But the (?) may perhaps find this strange. Those who find it strange, let them take their head between their hands, using their reason, not with the feelings of the nafs, using their reason, let them decide. Yes.
Now there is a finer point to this.
Let me finish the Companions, let me finish. There is a finer one. The finer one is: no one can say about the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he is dead. He is alive. He is alive, having tasted death. In this case, the people living in the time of the Prophet, if he is alive, are they not living in this time?
if we go down into its finer points, if he says he is not living, you call him dead. Then you deny the verse. So, if in this time too that believer becomes aware of the manifestations, just like being aware of the manifestations in his time, as if he had become a friend, this person is in the position of the Ashab. Not Ashab, he is in the position of Sahaba. Sahaba. Sahaba. After saying this much here, so these are very precious people. Because they are people who have become aware of the manifestations. And also among them, I am saying this as an extra, I am saying it as an extra.
I am saying it so that you know. So that you know. Be conscious. Yes.
People of very high degree, like Ahmad al-Badawi, like some other people; there are those who go about veiled. Veiled. Why do they go about veiled? People do not know this. Because he was very handsome, or because of whatever; they make it up, make it up and say it. The sole reason he goes veiled: that Allah Almighty, in his form, manifests Himself to him. In this case the person goes about veiled. The reason: perhaps someone may come to hate him, and so that from that hatred no harm comes to him. He goes about veiled. Actually, if we had not lived these things, we would not know them either. These were all lived. Our Lord, in my form too, manifested Himself to me. It was even (?).
Just like Hallaj al-Mansur, not in my senses, I said: am I Allah? I said this. But I came to. God forbid, I said. God forbid. I lived exactly the life of Hallaj al-Mansur.
In this case, especially when you ask why I don't come veiled, I sometimes break people's hearts so that no harm comes to them. Because we are a lost person. The unknown imam of the time.
They will not be able to know. There is a hadith of the Prophet. He will have no outward knowledge, he will have no Arabic, he will not be ambitious either. Even if he says it is me, they will not believe, it says. And I say: if I tell you about myself in this way, your believing me or not believing does not affect you at all; I say it as a piece of information. Look at the words of the verses that come out of my mouth, do not look at me. Yes, so there are finer points of the believers too. If He says this merely to the one in the lowest layer, if Allah Almighty says this to the one in the lowest layer of believers, then you think about the upper layers.
What does it say? The believers are only those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, who, when Allah's verses are recited to them, increase their faith and rely on their Lord alone and trust Him.
Ender says, Hodja, in this sentence of the verse: when Allah's verses are recited, who increase their faith, it is said. Not increasing but who increase, that is, the person himself increases his faith. Probably because when he hears the verses, he does not just listen idly but reflects. Now let us explain that to Ender too.
When Allah's verses are recited, who increase their faith: if it had said his faith, it would come down to one person. It would become one person's claim. When it says their faith, there are many people. Who increase. He increases it personally, himself. Among those people, when verses are recited, the person according to his own degree increases his faith. For example, when a verse is recited: My Allah, how beautifully You hold a light before us. My Allah, if it were not for You, perhaps we would have remained in darkness. My Lord, You have shown us mercy. You sent us Your Beloved. With Your verses You have lit our path, our path, you say.
In this way you reflect toward Allah Almighty. Then you look at your past; when the verses are recited, the sins you committed come to mind; you ask for pardon and forgiveness as the verses are recited. Now what does it say in the verse? When the Quran is recited, it says, listen, so that you may be forgiven. That is, so that you may turn to your Lord and ask your Lord for pardon and forgiveness. If you remember Me and mention My greatness (?), We, it says, indeed created you for this purpose, for My essence to be known; I will forgive you too, it says. Yes. When the Quran is recited, what does it say?
It is said: who, when Allah's verses are recited, increase their faith. His faith, their faith: because there are persons, their faith; if it were one person, it would be faith. Yes. Who increase their faith: even if it is a single person, increasing his own faith; increasing, when it says increasing, increasing means the person increases his faith himself. Probably because when he hears the verses he listens idly and reflects, he says. Because he does not listen idly but reflects. Of course, the person himself increases his faith. Himself. For example, if you and I listen, let's say at that moment you sank into a very high reflection, and I, in my own world, sank into my reflection.
Now the increase of your faith and mine is not the same. Yours will have increased more. Mine will be somewhat less. According to understanding, according to capacity, according to degree. Sir, in this way a person increases his faith. This increasing develops his intellect. The increase of faith is the development of the intellect. Yes. Ender. So, the believers, as our son Ender said, are people who do not listen idly but, with reflection, listen to Allah, listen to Allah's verses, and the subtleties in them try to sense, and want to try to be governed by them; such a person.
the believers are only those whose hearts tremble when Allah is mentioned, who, when Allah's verses are recited to them, increase their faith and who on their Lord alone rely and trust. How beautiful, alone. As I said a moment ago: my Allah, for the sins we committed in our helplessness we have taken refuge in You. Had You not sent us our Prophet, had You not sent the Beloved of the Almighty and Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him), perhaps we too would be swimming in swamps. Because our intellect is deficient, since we do not have the capacity to see what lies ahead of us, You opened our way. You guided us with Your verses.
You placed the Quran before us as proof. Praise and glory be to You. In this fleeting worldly life, with these verses of Yours, You have brought us to peace. Our only trust and support is You. They reflect on Him. They put their trust in Him. In this case they rely on Allah. Why did Allah Almighty send His verses anyway? He sent His verses so that His essence would be known. With those verses a person reflects and thus increases his faith, if he submits to Allah, and since Allah Almighty created man so that His essence be known, then, because he fits the purpose for which He created him, He says: Labbayk, My servant; Labbayk, you speak, I should say, He says.
As long as a person does not change the traits within himself, Allah Almighty, We never, He says, are the ones to change those traits of his, He says. That is, We do not change what We gave him, He says. What We gave. As long as a person does not change the traits in himself, Allah Almighty never changes the blessings He gave him. Yes. Manifestations, the believer, the precious person; after explaining this much, now we read the commentary; you will probably understand it even better. Those who have become aware of the manifestations are believers. These are people who, just as they know and see their own existence, Allah Almighty's existence, know Allah's existence in this way.
With them, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts tremble with fear of Allah, and from the love of Allah the heart, pleasantly, fills with peace. He surrenders his existence to Allah Almighty. They are those who believe, having faith in every verse that comes from Allah. And we explained it. He turns to his Lord, always asks from Him. When Allah's verses are recited to them, they increase their faith. Sensing the secrets and subtleties in these verses, they comprehend that Allah is free from deficient attributes. If the Holy Quran were a human fabrication, many words not agreeing with each other would be found in it.
Whereas Allah's verses support one another and also show it to people in many ways. Let us read this paragraph again. When Allah's verses are recited to them, they increase their faith. How do they increase it? Feeling the secrets and subtleties in these verses, they comprehend that Allah is free from deficient attributes.
When into the meanings in those verses they plunge, when into the meanings in His verses they plunge, according to the verse Whom We give knowledge, We give wisdom, within those wisdoms the subtleties and secrets in that verse, as far as Allah Almighty permits, those persons understand. Within that meaning they see that Allah Almighty is an ocean, an ocean, by what He lets people taste from that ocean, and that Allah's pardon and forgiveness is like oceans, and that Allah Almighty toward His creatures is compassionate and merciful, and with those bonds of the heart they surrender themselves to Allah.
Yes, the believers.
So we read the paragraph once more. The verses tell the truth and bring people to guidance. In this respect, Allah Almighty, with His verses, outwardly proves His existence among people. Outwardly. He has informed us of everything with such beautiful laws, He has created everything with such a beautiful order, He has created everything with knowledge, so beautifully in harmony with one another, and in the order of this world where you see no deficiency at all, and with the duties performed by created beings in which you see no deficiency at all, with their successes, with their works, that Allah Almighty is a unique masterpiece, that He is the Creator, and that keeping His creatures under His rule He protects and watches over them, that Allah wrongs none of His creatures, and that people, when toward Allah Almighty they are ungrateful, are wrongdoers against their own selves, and that when they suffer Allah's punishment, they are taking revenge on their own nafs; how beautifully our Lord shows us this with His verses.
Yes.
So He outwardly proves His existence among us. The believers, however, toward Allah Almighty Yes, the believers, however, because of their submission to Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty, for these people, puts His light into their hearts, into the hearts of these people. Under the glow of this light, people, surrendering their nafs and life, their whole self, to Allah Almighty, rely and trust in Allah alone. Alone. To people who submit to Allah with this faith and submission, Allah Almighty too, not leaving them alone in this world and the hereafter, becomes for such servants of His the walking foot, the holding hand and the speaking tongue.
Yes.
Ender, the attributes of the believer are many. Such a manifestation is not (?). The believer has many attributes.
