Do not be among those who say; “We heard” even though they have not heard.
Tafsir
When the Verses of Allah are recited to those who are enemies of Allah and His Messenger, and when the command is done, those who are enemies of Allah and His Messenger say: They do not want to listen to the Verses of Allah, saying: "We know them, if you have something else to say, say it. They also defend what they consider justified in their own souls by looking for shortcomings in the Verses, as if they are more knowledgeable than Allah. They deny Allah's Verses, calling them outdated or tales of a bygone era, and try to satisfy their ego with their pride and grandeur, as if they had won a battle in the presence of each other. If such people die in this state without repentance, they will be eternal in Hell. O you who believe! Do not be like such people. Obey what you have heard from Allah and His Messenger so that you may be successful.
What is said in the video
Surah Al-Anfal, verse 21 Do not be like those who say "we heard" while they do not hear. While they do not hear — those who are enemies of Allah and His Messenger, when Allah's verses are recited and good is enjoined, those who are enemies of Allah and His Messenger: we know them, if you have something else to say, say it — saying this, while not hearing. We know. What do you know? Yes. There is nothing he knows either. That is why he is hostile to it. "Say it" — as in, I take it lightly. Yes. We know them. If you have something else to say, say it — saying this, they do not want to listen to Allah's verses.
Moreover, as if they knew more than Allah, looking for deficiencies in verses, they defend in their own nafs the matters their own nafs deems right. This one now says it like this. Can this be? For example, Allah tells the woman, cover your head. Does that work now, in this day and age? He says. And what does another one say? Back then there was no manicure-minicure, so, while eating, so that their hair would not fall everywhere, they did that. Now there is manicure-minicure.
Yes.
Whereas Allah's word, His verses, are valid until the Day of Judgment. There they are, those who look for deficiencies in the verses. Those who judge by their own heads. Allah Almighty telling the woman to cover her head is an address to the believing woman. And that by covering her head the believing woman hides her chastity, her beauty, prevents the harassment that would be done to her by others, and causes that person a peaceful (?) life — those who cannot grasp such things look for deficiencies in Allah's verses. Yes.
Denying Allah's verses, calling them (?) or the tales of past times, with carnal pride and arrogance, in front of each other, they try to satisfy their nafs with boasting, as if they had won a war. Such people, if they die in this state without repenting, are forever people of Hell. O you who believe! Do not be like such people. Obey what you hear from Allah and His Messenger, so that you may attain salvation. Yes.
