Tafsir
Allah (swt) declares that if those who disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger (s.a.w.) give up their enmity against the Prophet (s.a.w.) and obey him, Allah (swt) will forgive their sins and forgive them. Every human being is faulty. If people make mistakes, whether intentionally or unintentionally, and if they realize their mistakes and turn back, repent, Allah (swt) accepts their repentance.
On the contrary, if they persist in stubbornness, in disbelief and disbelief, in enmity against the Messenger of Allah, in persecution of those who say Allah, in disdain and contempt for people because of glory, fame, pride and arrogance, and in enmity against the Messenger of Allah, the example of those before them is before their eyes. Many tribes who opposed Allah and His Messenger perished. The people of 'Ad, the people of Thamud, the people of Lot, the people of the Sabbath (those who disobeyed the prohibition of Saturday) tasted misery and destruction. And in the Hereafter they will suffer an unending torment. Allah reminds people of the past by saying, "The state of those before them is before their eyes" and recommends that they obey Allah.
What is said in the video
The verse: Surah Al-Anfal, verse 38. Tell those who disbelieve that if they give up their enmity toward you, their past sins will be forgiven. Look how beautiful.
So if a person follows his nafs and does evil, and then turns to his Lord and repents; well, having been at enmity with the Prophet, then later coming to his senses, saying "it was my period of ignorance, my Allah," and repents, it says his sins will be forgiven. This body too is a trust given to us; if I betray my own nafs, betray, and then remember it as a period of ignorance: "this should not have been so, my Lord who created me did not command me this way," I say. If I turn to my Lord from the sins I committed and (?), that by my Lord we will be forgiven: this it announces to us here as good news.
Yes. In this age there is no prophet. Since there is no prophet, does this verse refer to the past? Because they (?), because they are unaware of the verses, some verses address the past. Not this age. Yes. So it is a verse that seems to address the past, but in fact a verse that shows people the truth until the Day of Judgment. What does it say? Tell those who disbelieve that if they give up their enmity toward you, their past sins will be forgiven. To those who disbelieve, to those who live outside Allah's command, then understand it was a period of ignorance and become repentant: the good news that their sins will be forgiven.
But if they return, the state of those before them is before their eyes. What is the state of those before them? To those who denied Allah and the Prophet, the calamities Allah Almighty gave, those destructions are before their eyes. I mean, don't they read history? They do. Don't they travel through the world? They do. Don't they know what their end was? They know very well. Yes, so the past is before their eyes.
Those who deny Allah and His Messenger, if they give up their enmity toward the Prophet (peace be upon him) and obey, Allah Almighty will forgive their sins and pardon them, He makes known. Every human errs. People err knowingly or unknowingly, and if they realize these mistakes they made, turn back, feel remorse and repent, Allah Almighty too accepts their repentance. Yes. If, on the contrary, they stubbornly persist in rebellion and disbelief, go further in enmity toward Allah's Messenger, torment those who say "Allah", belittle people with states like fame, renown, pride and arrogance, look down on them and continue in enmity toward the Prophet; and not only in that time: right now, aren't there those hostile to prophets?
There are. There are. Yes. If they still continue that way, within their own lives the states of those before them are before their eyes. Many peoples who opposed Allah and His Messenger were destroyed. The people of Ad, the people of Thamud, the people of Lot, the people of (?), those who defied the Sabbath prohibition. They tasted ruin and destruction. And in the hereafter they were afflicted with an endless punishment. So Allah, by saying "the state of those before them is before their eyes," reminding people of the past, recommends that they obey Allah. Yes.
