Al-Anfal 43: Remember that in your dream Allah has showed them as few to you. If Allah had shown them to you as many, you would have hesitated and gone into dispute over this matter. But Allah saved you from this. Verily, Allah knows the essence of hearts.

Allah Almighty's grace toward people, toward Muslims, toward unbelievers, is great. Now look what He says in the verse. Remember that Allah showed them to you as few in your sleep. Whereas they were far more than the Muslim force. The Meccan polytheists.

In this case, in every person, because the opposing force is larger, a state of hesitancy arises. But when Allah Almighty showed them as few in sleep, a person's courage increases.

A strength against them comes to a person. So Allah Almighty — so that their morale would not break and, toward their Lord, increasing their faith, by seeing them as few, their strength and zeal would increase — Allah Almighty, besides this, by sending angels to them for help, shows how much He reinforced them. Shows how much strength He gave.

Yes. Had He shown them to you as many, you would surely have held back and started arguing about this matter, He says.

But Allah saved you from this. Surely He knows the essence of hearts, He says.

That is, His knowing the essence of people's hearts, our Lord giving man his character according to his wishes and desires, His knowing people's feelings according to those characters. Yes. So that His necessary command would be carried out, Allah Almighty gave the Prophet (peace be upon him) a sleep. In his sleep He showed him the enemy armies as few. In this case Allah Almighty — the Prophet (peace be upon him) — gave all of us encouragement. At the same time, by showing the unbelievers' army as few in the eyes of the Islamic armies too, and with angels helping the Islamic armies, He increased the Muslims' zeal.

Their zeal. For Allah would spread His religion, you see; before it the polytheist armies standing like a granite fortress He would destroy, and until the Day of Judgment Allah Almighty, who would keep the religion of Islam standing, gives His command there already. He gives people morale through events. Through sleep. Yes.

Had Allah shown the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his companions the great size of this army, disputes would surely have arisen among them; hesitations and arguments about going to war with this army would have begun. So Allah, so that His necessary command would be fulfilled — that is, so that Allah, who with a program programmed the worlds, could, as a result of this program, complete the course of the worlds — by showing the unbelievers' armies as few in the eyes of the Islamic armies and by helping with angels, raised their morale, and from the disputes they would have had among themselves Allah saved them.

Allah Almighty holds His verses before people as (?), holds them up as a proof. What does He say? That with the blowing of their mouths they would extinguish Allah's light — did they think so? Allah will complete His light until the Day of Judgment. So in this case Allah Almighty, to people, to those Companions, to the Companions and to the Prophet, to those who were at the Battle of Badr — those warriors, the Muslims — with this boost of morale, those called a granite fortress, called insurmountable, those carcasses He removed. Yes.

Allah knows the essence and the secrets of all hearts. Because the One who at Kalu Bela made people's wishes and desires their destiny, Allah, knows what people will do, what their intentions are and what will pass through their hearts.
