Al-Anfal 66: Now Allah has lessened your burden; Allah knows that you have weaknesses. Thus, if there are a hundred among you who are patient, they will be victorious over two hundred (from them) and if there are a thousand among you, by Allah’s will, they will be victorious over two thousand of them. Now Allah has lessened your burden; Allah knows that you have weaknesses. Tafsir
(Now Allah has lightened your burden), there is weakness in the souls of people. When Islam first spread, Allah helped Islam because of the scarcity of Islam. Because Allah will complete His light. In this case, the spread of the Muslims is equipped with the intellect and understanding that one Muslim is worth ten kuffar so that Allah can complete His light. The Muslims who fought with the perseverance of faith and the honor of martyrdom were worth ten kuffar.
Later, with the increase of Islam and the spread of the religion of Islam, Allah, after announcing Islam to the worlds, lifted the heavy burden on us by removing the price of one against ten kufr from the Companions and making it the price of one against two kufr. In this verse, the fact that one Muslim is worth two kuffar is due to the wisdom of the people who have embraced the religion of Islam, and their understanding of the truth.
He states that if there were a hundred patient Muslims in battle, they would be able to defeat two hundred of the kuffar, and if there were a thousand patient Muslims, they would be able to defeat two thousand of the kuffar.
This strength in a Muslim is the strength of faith and belief in Allah, the peace that Islam gives to the heart of our Lord, and the strength of the feeling of faith and belief in the heart of the person as a result of meeting Allah and gaining Allah's consent.
Surely Allah is with the patient. When people who spread the light of Allah in the earth, who treat Allah's creatures with justice, who rid the earth of fitnah and oppression, and who are patient with the hardships and persecution they suffer as a result of their efforts for the sake of Allah, Allah will grant them success and salvation. Because Allah is with them. This is the greatest salvation. It is the salvation of those who earn Allah's pleasure and pass on to the Hereafter.
What is said in the video
The verse comes right after. What does it say? Now Allah has lightened your burden, it says. What is this burden? Islam being few is a burden. A handful of Muslims, the Sahaba-i Kiram, the Ashab-i Kiram, a handful. When these grew in number, Allah says, now He has lightened your burden. That is, you were fighting against two hundred people with two thousand. You were fighting against a hundred people with a thousand. Now your burden has become lighter. That is, you have increased, it says. Now Allah has lightened your burden. He knew that there is weakness in you. He knew. (?) So if there are a hundred patient ones among you, they will overcome two hundred of them, and if there are a thousand of you, by Allah's leave they will overcome two thousand of them. Allah is with the patient, it says.
Yes.
So Allah's justice: the spreading of the light of faith over people, and with the light Allah places in a person's heart and the strength that faith gives the person, attacking with both his intellect and his loyalty against the enemy, and in the face of this he leaves his enemy devastated.
In the verse where He says now Allah has lightened your burden, to people's nafs there is (?). In the periods when Islam first spread, while Islam was few, Allah helped Islam. Because Allah will complete His light. In this case, for the Muslims to spread, for Allah to be able to complete His light, a Muslim, worth ten disbelievers, with intellect and understanding was equipped. Fighting with the steadfastness faith gives and the rank martyrdom will give, the Muslims became worth ten disbelievers. Later, with Islam growing and the religion of Islam spreading, after Allah had made Islam heard to the worlds, He held people equal with His justice.
In this verse, though, a Muslim being worth two disbelievers is due to people honored with the religion of Islam having more intellect and seeing the truth. Yes.
It makes known that the Muslim, if there are a hundred patient ones in war, over two hundred of the disbelievers is in a position to prevail, and that if there are a thousand patient ones from the Islamic units, over the disbelievers' unit, two thousand men, they will prevail. In the Muslim this strength is, as a result of faith and belief in Allah, the peace our Lord gives to Islam's heart, and, as a result of reaching Allah, of winning Allah's pleasure, the strength of the feeling of belief that comes into the person's heart. (?) Surely Allah is with the patient. People who spread Allah's light on earth, who treat Allah's creatures with justice, who save the earth from fitna and oppression — when, in the struggle they wage for Allah, they are patient with the hardships and torments they suffer as a result, Allah brings them to success and salvation.
Because Allah is with them. And this is the greatest salvation. It is the salvation of those who pass on to the hereafter having won Allah's pleasure.
When we say salvation, it is a person's attaining felicity. So the salvation of the fleeting worldly life does not mean salvation in the hereafter. If you are in rebellion against Allah, however free you may live here, however many people may be under your command, if you have turned your back on Allah, only benefiting from what Allah gives, from His provision, His creatures, but going bankrupt in the hereafter, leaving his own nafs exposed to wrong — as anything other than such a person, in this world you cannot live. You do not count as having attained salvation. But salvation: in this world, even if your two feet were in one shoe, between the millwheels, if you boasted, if they praised you, in the end, with death, this pain will end.
If you passed on to the hereafter as Allah's servant, you both escaped the pain of that world, escaped the prison of that world, and also reached the gardens of paradise that Allah promised you. That is salvation. Yes. Otherwise salvation is not living free and making people work (?), making them do what you say.
A person's release from captivity is not salvation either. That is the ease of his living in worldly life.
Allah Almighty protected the people of the Children of Israel from Pharaoh's torment. With Moses He brought them as far as the desert of Tih. He drowned Pharaoh in the sea. But because they rebelled against Allah, they remained captive in the desert of Tih. All of them passed on to the hereafter there.
So whether they were saved there or not, I don't know that either.
That is a decision Allah will give.
In the world many mighty people lived, people like (?). They made palaces for themselves out of mountains and rocks.
They considered themselves the strongest people on earth.
They could not escape Allah's wrath. So when we speak of salvation, it is the one who (?) Allah, the one who is with Allah, that person. That one (?) salvation. The others are people who, with Allah's creatures, for a passing time in worldly life are distracted and amuse themselves with them. In the end they are the ones who suffer loss. May Allah include us in the company of those who attain true salvation. Yes.
