When the forbidden months are over, destroy what the idolaters hide inside their nafs (ego). Seize them, imprison them and sit and wait for them in every watch post. Tafsir
The saying, "Resist the polytheists if they raise sedition against Islam with the coming of the Haram months, (and kill them wherever you find them); and try to reform the souls of those who rebel against Islam and would kill unjustly. Invite them to Islam, remove the filth they will commit, or imprison them. (Sit and wait for them in every observation post), and at every opportunity, hand over the truth to them. Try to prevent the evil deeds of the disbelievers and polytheists in this way.
(If they repent, observe the prayers and pay the zakat, then let them go their way) If these people who find the truth through emri-bi'l-ma'ruf, who observe the prayers and pay the zakat of their own free will, without any pressure or compulsion, if they have embraced the Religion of Islam, then they are brothers and sisters of Islam. Stop blocking their path, that is, stop warning them about the religion of Islam. They have found their way, they have turned towards the truth.
Allah is the Forgiving, the Merciful. Allah is very protective of His creatures and protects them from calamities. However, when a person says, "I want this calamity," the sins that a person commits voluntarily, with his will in his hands, are his own. You cannot take anyone out of his destiny. In this case, the souls that turn away from Allah's mercy, which is merciful and forgiving, have no questions to ask Allah. They would be wronging their own souls.
What is said in the video
Yes, we have come to Surah At-Tawbah, verse 5.
When the sacred months are over, what the polytheists hide in their nafs — kill it. What is it that the polytheists hide in their nafs? Worshipping their own idols, destroying whatever is outside that. Turning people to their own idols.
Here Allah Almighty is speaking specifically about the polytheists. Not about the unbelievers. As we said, if people cannot tell what a polytheist and an unbeliever are, they say this verse was abrogated by this verse. Yes. The polytheists are idolaters. Allah Almighty says this about idolaters:
Do not marry them. They call you to the Fire. Allah, it says, calls you to the truth. He invites to Paradise, it says. Yes.
When the sacred months are over, kill what the polytheists hide in their nafs. Seize them. Confine them. And sit and wait for them at every lookout post. If they repent, establish the prayer properly and give the zakat, then set them free on their way. Allah is Forgiving, Merciful, it says. Yes. Today the non-Muslims are applying this verse. Everywhere they shed the blood of Islam. They spend trillions to turn them to their own language. To turn them to their own language. Everywhere they build a church. They set up a broadcasting center, and people, those Muslims — in order to turn them to their own language, providing worldly benefits and making the world look, in the Muslims' eyes too, the way it looks in their own eyes, rosy, they try to hunt them.
From what we hear, in (?) certain mentalities are becoming Christian en masse, they become Christianized, and shamelessly that apostate goes up somewhere, that person who turned non-Muslim, shows a villa, and it has a garden too. He has put a chair out in the garden. He answers questions. I'm happy. Sir, see, we live nicely like this. We live nicely like this, he says. In this prison of a world, which is the unbeliever's paradise, he has (?) the prison, decorated it. He has shown the prison, the swamp, (?). He decorated it with (?) that Allah created. He thought it was his own, and with those materials Allah offered (?), to increase his disbelief, he sets a trap on people's path, and that poor person, who also imprisons himself in that trap, in the prison of the world shows his ornate life as rosy.
And finally, the few hours' life of this mortal world — with turning the deathless, eternal life of the hereafter into a dungeon, with having himself locked into the Fire, into fire, with leaving himself (?) to an eternal torment with no escape — that poor person who does not realize he is racing toward this. Poor person.
And those who believe in this, those poor ones. I always say, even if the life of this world were all hardship, all (?), all torture, one day you will die. You will be rid of it. What you suffer in the life of this world isn't three days, isn't five days; even if this torture lasted a year, even five years, your life will finally end and you will be rid of this torture. But in that eternal hereafter, where there is deathlessness, in eternal life, how will you be rid of this torture?
Man was created honorable, he was given a mind to govern himself. Use your minds. I always say it. Use your minds.
People can make mistakes.
Because man's mind was created deficient. It is not apart from error. If people, it says, had not made mistakes, We would have destroyed them, that is, wiped them out, and created in their place beings that make mistakes, says Allah Almighty. The reason for this is that Allah Almighty, who created the worlds from nothing, wished His essence to be known, so people will make mistakes, will (?) to their Lord with the mistake, and by asking pardon and forgiveness from Him, man will know the purpose of creation, and that Allah Almighty is the Lord of the worlds — man will know. What is Allah's purpose in creating?
It will fit. So man, together with the mistake, says: my Allah, I made a mistake, I lived through a (?), I did not know. When he says forgive me, if it pleases Allah Almighty, how He forgives! But if, out of defiance for your nafs, you say about your mistake 'I did well', and you compete in evils, then in the hereafter, which is its recompense, you remain subject to eternal torment.
When the sacred months are over, in case the polytheists stir up fitnah against Islam, resist them. Those who stir up fitnah.
Those who drown things in uproar.
Those who oppress people. Against those who split Islam apart, stir up fitnah and set them against one another, it says. Take a stand against them. Yes.
(?) Kill those people. Because fitnah, it says, is worse than death. It is worse than killing a man. Of those rebelling against Islam, who would unjustly take lives, work to reform the nafs. First there is reform. Sit and wait for them at every lookout post. So what does this mean? These people are known anyway. When these stir up fitnah, why does it say crush their head as you crush a snake's head? It's obvious anyway. He'll come to you, to me, and say: look, (?) (?), or he'll incite you against someone else, bring false, wrong news — about which Allah Almighty says in His verse: If a fasiq brings you news, it says, do not attack anyone until you learn whether it is true, it says.
Shall I say the verse once more? Understand it well. When a fasiq brings you news — this is very important. A fasiq — fasiq is very important. Now we come to the word. Even if the man brought the truth, look, it says fasiq. A talebearer. One who backbites. Even if he tells the truth, he became a fasiq. When a fasiq brings you some talk — until you learn whether it is true, it says. So even if it is true, it calls him fasiq. In that case, if our Lord calls him fasiq even though he tells the truth, and if he drives a wedge between two brothers, between brothers in Islam, then strike him on the head, it says, crush him there.
That is every lookout post. That's it. Every person, as part of good upbringing, the words the other person says against his brother in Islam — (?) them, and rebuke him. Yes.
Of those rebelling against Islam, who would unjustly take lives, work to reform the nafs. Invite them to Islam. Remove the filth they would commit, or confine them. Sit and wait for them at every lookout post. That is, when someone brings a person news. At every opportunity, convey the truth to them. So convey the truth to them. When that fasiq says something to you about your brother, you too convey the truth to him. Look, don't talk like that about my brother, about a Muslim. Even if he says it's against you — even if he spoke against me, I don't believe him. Tell that person: you are lying. Because you are gossiping, you are backbiting.
You are talking about him. Well then, say this word to his face too. Say it. Say it. Yes.
In this way, try to prevent the evils the unbelievers and polytheists will do. If they repent and establish the prayer properly and give the zakat, then set them free on their way. That is, now begin to believe, it says. They have now gone toward what is right. Now lift your suspicions about them, it says. The suspicions.
These people, who found the truth through the enjoining of good that was done, who properly perform the prayer —
that is, there is no pressure or (?) of yours — people who pray of their own will and give the zakat, if they have become honored with the religion of Islam, then they too are brothers of Islam. Stop blocking their way, that is, admonishing them toward the religion of Islam. Yes. (?) from now on, but if he does evil, of course you will speak. These have found their way; they have turned to the truth. Allah is Forgiving, that is, Merciful — Allah greatly protects what He created and shields them from calamities. But when a person insists, I want this calamity, the sins that a person, who holds partial will in his hand, commits of his own wish are on himself.
You cannot take anyone out of their destiny. In that case, the souls that drift away from Allah's protecting and forgiving mercy have no questions left to ask Allah. They will have wronged their own selves. Yes.
